Big up Anish (sorry if I've misspelled it or plain remembered completely the wrong name) for the cinematography and editing, it's beautiful. I have zero interest in riding an adventure bike and this week I traded in my MT-07 (same engine as the Tenere 700) for an MT-09 SP, so I'm watching purely for the entertainment factor.
Honestly thinking to do same. Got also Mt 07 and wondering regular Mt 09 or SP. So far how you liking it? Is it like more power and better suspension Mt 07?
SkydexFPS Yes to both, my friend. More power and better suspension. Also the engine and gearbox are much smoother, clutch is lighter too. I think the SP is worth it for the suspension - admittedly I haven’t ridden the standard 09 but I sat on one, it felt very similar to the 07 when I sat on it and rocked the suspension a bit. From what I’ve heard in most reviews, the suspension in the basic 09 isn’t much better than the 07. And it really makes so much difference; made me realise how much the 07 makes you work to keep it stable in certain situations. I don’t ride particularly hard, I’m not out trying to get my knee down on the road, I’m just taking in the English countryside but still the suspension has got me taking corners faster than I’d have dared on my 07. The forks are so much better under braking also.
@@Minimagicmanmolestingmoose Cheap, fun and reliable. Great beginner bikes except the 09 and 10 which have too much power for beginners. As James Jones explained they have bad suspension but as a beginner you won't be riding hard enough to tell the difference and when you get more advanced you can either upgrade the suspension or upgrade to a different bike.
The most extraordinary combination of cinematography, technical in depth infotainment, humor, beautiful scenery and valuable information available. FortNine and Ryan, please keep making these gems!

The shots, production quality, presentation is just insane! You guys are killing it I discovered thew channel yesterday and I've been watching your videos non stop! Keep it up you guys
Legend has it that in 1980 a guy in Yamaha ordered a billion instead of a million turn signals and his boss said: "dude, we won't order newer ones until we use all those we have".
I think it's details like that the separates Yamaha from say, Honda. Honda produces a beautifully finished end product, with very few compromises of quality. Yamaha on the other hand, know that the indicators, plate holder & exhaust will be ripped off and replaced 90% of the time within a week of it leaving the showroom, so they used it as an inconsequential means of lowering cost.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It does the job of a turn signal. Doesn't look like an art major spent three months struggling to try and add "attitude" to it.
@@rubiconnn an "Attitude", that only makes the bike functionally worse.. this last few years, honda has been a prime example of form over function and I don't like it.

Amazing the info you can get from an enthusiast with a relevant education isn't it? Rather than some shill reading from corporate cliff notes. I like when some journo talks about how something feels. I will never, for the life of me, understand why Yamaha continues to punish the American (and apparently Canadian) market with these outdated monstrosity indicators. I had them on my 2009 FZ6r, had them on my 2017 FZ07 and they were crap on both bikes. Lenses fell off on their own and I did change out the entire turn signal on both bikes...point is, the user shouldn't have to. I have a 2017 Triumph Tiger now and none of the lights need changed. I have zero interest in riding an adventure bike and this week I traded in my MT-07 (same engine as the Tenere 700) for an MT-09 SP, so I'm watching purely for the entertainment factor.
So impressive. legends.
How’re you liking the MT09 in comparison? I’m thinking of doing the same switch from FZ07
How are the Yamaha MTs in general? I'm looking to learn to ride in the next year and that's a bike I've had my eye on for a while now!
Ryan, you must be an alien to get hits that no one else in Moto journalism can even touch.
This is a master class in research, video editing, technical analysis and stellar presentation. Unbelievable work.
And the TH-cam oscar for script and cinematography goes to....

@@jasonjayalap Watch this! You're gonna love my cinematography!
This is one of the most professionally filmed, edited and narrated videos I have ever seen on TH-cam.
Simply astonishing production values seen here.
Job very well done,FortNine.
Yea,I like the bike too.
Best review of the Yamaha t7 i have seen any where, that anti squat thing was never discussed this beautifully any where on youtube... and the video visually is just beautiful
What the hell is anti-squat? Sounds like some Asian racist joke. LOL

Props to Ryan and Aneesh on this one. The writing, editing and cinematography is top notch and it doesn’t hurt that you made Kamloops look amazing. I don’t even own a bike but after watching this I might just have to get myself one!
I still think MIDGETS are being short changed all the fookin bikes we tiny people like we cant ride man that's discrimination and unfair
Ah, Kamloops , I wondered where he was.
Cheers Fortnine! This is how I remember Top Gear in the early 2000’s, funny, informative and brilliant to watch.
Yep!
I have always wondered what about this channel attracts me and you hit the nail on the coffin brother. TOP GEAR!
Speaking of Top Gear, a new episode of The Grand Tour: Massive Hunt is coming out next week.
Except the host is a little more smug than clarkson
Awesome video as always! Nice to see someone actually testing bikes and explaining limitations, positives, etc.. properly.
You put more effort into this review than I did in all of my years in highschool
Well that's not saying much.
True for most of us....
*F9 starts with the negatives*
Me: Oh he's gonna love this bike, isn't he?
Its the same as the old Top Gear reviews, if it starts in the dumps, you know its going to be good
@@TheBobiqu It's interesting just how much F9 parallels Top Gear / GT. Ryan's like a funnier combo of Hammond and Clarkson rolled into a younger Canadian dude. Sorry May.
@@charlienyc1 you should watch him review the 2 stroke ktm vs mountain bike
Coming from the KTM 390 Adventure review, this really is kinda funny.
There: *good stuff* followed by "just buy a duke for 1000 dollar less."
Here: *bad stuff* followed by "someone want a used GS?"
Dear Ryan and Aneesh. Thank you. More please. Whatever you put up, I am going to watch it. It's just GREAT stuff all the way around.
The shots, production quality, presentation is just insane! You guys are killing it I discovered thew channel yesterday and I've been watching your videos non stop! Keep it up you guys
They really are great. Their review of the Versys 300 is basically a short film.
Aneesh is a genius
He is the real MVP. I’m a professional camera man and I follow this just for the videography and editing. I have no interest in bikes!
Seems like there's a million T7 videos... This was the only one I cared about!
Exactly... I anxiously awaited F9 to make a video on the T7. Having watched almost every other video there is in the mean time :D
These videos are 50% PSA, 50% documentary film, and 50% art.
Matthew Oliphant that’s like...🧐200 ish percent. Seems like an accurate assessment of this channel.
@@Bandy64 how's 50%+50%+50% = 200%?

I was thinking 100% + 100% + 100% = 10000%! All awesome
This reminds me of top gear in their golden days. Such good production quality man and interesting content!
That hill climb was insane... if it looked that steep in video I know it's way steeper in real life
always
It's in Kamloops, BC, and yep, it's a bit steeper in real life fore sure!
Gets pretty vertical at the top there. A better rider on the T7 could have had it, though. ~RF9
That climb needed 2 or 3 minutes of its own in this review. I’m guessing that the gs800 would get about three quarters up that “hill”?
Didn’t you climb the same hill on the T-Dub?
Legend has it that in 1980 a guy in Yamaha ordered a billion instead of a million turn signals and his boss said: "dude, we won't order newer ones until we use all those we have".
I think it's details like that the separates Yamaha from say, Honda.
Honda produces a beautifully finished end product, with very few compromises of quality.
Yamaha on the other hand, know that the indicators, plate holder & exhaust will be ripped off and replaced 90% of the time within a week of it leaving the showroom, so they used it as an inconsequential means of lowering cost.
@@BluTrollPro true. I did that with my my 09 as well as mt10 👌

“Is the T7 really that special....?” That beautiful start up scene makes me believe so, that shot was gorgeous
I bought my own T7 about a month ago, and spent all this time absolutely loving it but in the back of my head one question was always crawling: what will Ryan F9 think about it?
Well now, with his blessing, I can finally rest peacefully.
How do you like yours?
@@branchbrown3790 to me it's the best bike on sell today.
There are bikes that do some things better than this one, but almost no one does everything so effortlessly (especiallyfor the price). Basically I thinking the same as Ryan does.

The cinematography is off the charts in this one.
The framing and setup for this shot 7:05 is positively beautiful.
The long drawn out intro was worth the wait. No one gives it more straight than Ryan while providing a good laugh. Thanks mate!

FortNine: the only motorcycle channel that produces short films on the same elite-tier level as Carfection and Petrolicious.
Great job Ryan & Aneesh!
The cinematography combined with the detailed reviews is really top notch
His level of video quality and cinematography for a 1-2 man shop is crazy. Always a pleasure to watch even if the content is not super relevant to me.
Great video, to the point and informative not repeating the other BS of others. I watched so many T7 videos, none of them had your information, as expected you did not disappoint. I love watching your videos, they are contantly getting better.
Amazing the info you can get from an enthusiast with a relevant education isn't it? Rather than some shill reading from corporate cliff notes. I like when some journo talks about how something feels. Like there subjective opinion is useful. Here an opinion ( light front wheel good slow speed technical) is backed by a sciency reason why that should be and how it was achieved. Bike is too expensive though. Should be under 9000 for a 700 ptwin.
@@percussion44 I am planing a ATW Trip so this bike is perfect for me. Price is ok at 9400€ naked. If you are on a tight budget, I would recommend an Enfield Himalyan. Itchy Boots has benn on the road for nearly 2 years on her channel, very reliable bike and very cheap parts.
I recognized my hometown immediately. You guys shot Kamloops beautifully!
Thanks for telling us the location of that beautiful geography. You were very fortunate to be from such an amazing place. I'll have to visit there sometime.

What kind of a name is that? Camshaft + loops = Kamloops. lol :P
I cant get over the beauty of this video and watched it 3 times already.. really impressive editing cinematography and explanation
Your editing is nearly Top Gear level, and the scripting is awesome.
Top Gear is like a cartoon compared to this production, in my opine onion.
It blows Top Gear out of the water, and what's more incredible, it does it on 1/100th of the budget and 1/50th of the personnel.
Top gear production is basically just a gradient ND filter and some contrast boosting
Damn I wish this was longer!
This channel is one of the few review channels that make me feel this way.

This video sealed the deal for me. Already loving my T7. Also, I read someone call Ryan the Top Gear of motorcycling...I couldn't agree more. I'm always excited for his next video.
how are you liking t7? how does it do on road and gave you toured on it?
i know its great off rd
@@jacobthorns5776 I'm loving it. It handles really well on the paved stuff. It's surprisingly flickable. I've done about a 3 hour ride and my bottom was starting to get a bit sore. The seat is a bit of a compromise between dirt bike and road bike. Best way to describe the T7 would be the Swiss Army knife of bikes, it kind of does it all.
I dunno, that sounds kinda insulting to the FortNine team. The production is better than TopGear.
Front headlights from Star Trek, front turn signals from the 90's.
The rear ones bounce like the ones on my old XT500 =D
US market always get the worst turnsignals. Europé they look better. Much better.
100% Opted for LED Turn Signals on mine - looks great!
Come on Yamaha...HID/LED headlights and taillights but big old amber indicators, really?
@@scotteger6271 The Super Tenere has modern LED signals on it since 2014, I believe. I was shocked to see the T7 in this video with those ancient pumpkins.

@@steveh1510 I have about 700 mi. on mine about 500 of those off-road the bike is impressive, it is not a 250lb dirt bike but it isn't a 600lb adventure bike either.
