  • The Ol' Man reviews the 2021 Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro Adventure bike.
We look at the important specs and get a feel for the bike on all roads.
We look at the handling, suspension, specs, heated seats and grips (which are awesome and we forgot to mention in the video!), engine , gearbox, clutch, screen, modes, tyres, suitability, A2 licence kit, power, torque, rake and trail and more!
Is this adventure motorcycle for you? Hopefully this video will give you a clearer idea.
Don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already!
    With kind regards!

Totally agree. Im “off road” guy so i love ride in trails. I owned a RE Himalayan in the past and now i have a Husqvarna norden 901… for me “best looking bikes” on the adventure market.. apart from that, i love the look of a classic/cruiser machine without plastics and massive strange panels.. salutes from spain

Great review as always love the way you explain the character of the bike without just trotting out the specifications. Get your point about the looks, I guess if Triumph adventure bikes were styled in a more classic way they would just end up looking like Street or Speed Twins? You can definitely have an adventure on either of those!

I have sat on the GT Pro and the Rally Pro, and I have test-ridden the GT Low. I’m short, 5’7” with 28” inseam. The Rally was too tall, and oddly enough, I found the GT Low to be too low. The GT Pro with the seat in the lowest position was nearly perfect for me. Thanks for the review!

You mentioned the exhaust ... Good point as it gets in the way of the panniers on one side, either reducing your carrying capacity or pushing out the overall width of the bike. I would think, with a bike like this, that's an important consideration.

Remember that the 900 is the MID SIZE. A 1200 or BMW XR is the FULL SIZE class. Secondly, The 900 GT PRO is specifically Touring and OFF-PAVEMENT (*road biased - gravel, fire roads, double track) while the Rally is OFF-ROAD.

A friend of mine is seriously thinking about getting this bike. He’s currently riding a 2018 Tiger 850 and really wants all the new features on this one.
I told him he will still have the same problem he has with his current Tiger…..valve adjustment. The nearest Triumph dealership is hours away in OKC. It’s a BIG deal to get up there and get the work done and get home again, but he’s a diehard Triumph fanboy! Can’t really blame him for that though?

Very good high-level review and riding impression. I do not particularly agree with the adventure bike styling comments, since the adventure market has its own look, why change it to look like something else? The rider height range comments were particularly helpful. I'm 5'10" with a 32" inseam and I can flat-foot the Tiger GT Pro with riding boots on, with the seat lowered at its lowest setting. Just had a test ride and I found the engine a letdown. The "T-plane" crank just makes the bike vibey like a twin, and its lost is smooth Triple character. I found the vibrations in the footpegs/handlebars were quite noticeable after less than an hour riding. I'll admit its got loads of torque, but if you want that then its easier to just stick with a big twin or better still a large displacement V4. A triple engine is meant to be the "best of both worlds" but this one, strangely misses the mark. I reckon Triumph should have stuck with the previous generation's 1050 smooth i.e. the Speed Triple engine in the Tiger Chassis. Overall I found the bike rather boring, so I'm looking forward to riding the Kawasaki z1000sx for comparison.

I agree with the vibration you point out, but the engine sounds great and definitely more lively the the previous versions. I only had my GT Pro for 1 week and I already installed grip puppies to dampen the vibration. I'm not feeling it too much through the footpegs or the seat. Again, I only had the motorcycle for one week.

How's the vibration on this bike at high speed, apparently it's very bad?

I honestly can't remember now. Did I mention it in the video? I would if I found it noticeable (hopefully!)

I had a 2021 Tiger 900 GT Pro and had it for 10, 000 miles before it was stolen and found to be very comfortable for long miles. It does have more vibs than the Tiger 800 but not bothersome at all .
It is geared a little low with a 16/50 sprockets. I replaced the 2021 with a 2023 Tiger 900 GT Pro and changed the gearing to 17/47 which lowered the rpms about 10 percent at 80 and 90. mph . I recently did a video showing the comparisons if you are interested.

I thought the bike had 94bhp making it applicable to A2 riders? Is this not the case?

It gas to be 47 bhp for A2 👍🏼

How would this compare to the Scrambler 1200 XE you reviewed?

I found the Scrambler XE to be really twitchy and I was disappointed because I love the look of it. Id say both about the same off road and the Tiger better at mile crunching on road

@@MrDarcy-OlMan I have heard a lot of people say that the Scrambler 1200 is to pose. And not made for doing real offroad riding. Thats why i gravited from the Scrambler XE towards the Ktm 890 adventure R. But for the looks i much preffer the Scrambler for sure.
