I say meet in the middle 1) built core support 2) 2” McNeil fiberglass 2.5) KalilFab bumper. Best looking Tacoma tube bumper 3) Camburg in between kit with the slapper. Retain OEM replacement Kings( saves money) uses bumps. Little wider. Saves some money. 4) Run 35s and 17s anyways
If you do option 3 that means you’ll want to also later on back half the truck so it looks symmetrical to the front which is more money on top of what you’ve already done. I’d fix everything. Plus tube bumper and lights and just get it to a point of looking good and capable and move onto the next build or series
Option 3 sounds great but then you’ll have to work on the rear to keep up with the front. So I’ll say option 2 is best for now because that’s what I’m looking to do with my Tacoma and this build will inspire me to do it. 😅
Lol I went penny hunting. It's sketchy when in mid air and all you can see is dirt out of your windshield. I thought for sure I was going to start cartwheeling. I vote option 3! I have a long travel 2nd gen I daily drive, I use it for work too, I also have a 1450 Ranger I race. You can do both! What you learn from one transfers into the other.
My v8 4runner was just totaled and this is the exact dilemma I’m in right now with my new one. Was considering dialing in the mid travel to be perfect but I think I’m at the point to where I’m just going to say f it and get the dirt king kit. Axles are so much money tho😭😭
Allpro Tacoma long travel says $515 on their website right now. Gonna call in a few hours when they open to confirm the price and order it if it’s real. Might be worth looking into At least do the tube bumper and cut the cross member to move it up. Stock painted bumper isn’t cheap
Nick Sezzz… Go Dirt King LT… Mid travel will Tap out on fun… bite the bullet & Go long… Better handling overall too. Snowballing all the way to the bank..
Option 3 would be sick but honestly option 2 will be close to the same price as a full stock rebuild. I’ve always loved the saying “buy once cry once” so I personally would go option 3 all the way, but definitely get some fiberglass and the tube front bumper 🤘🏼
I daily my LC Tacoma amd roads in Puerto Rico are terrible , no issue so far , 3 years with +4.5 and toyos mt 37's, so I suggest that dont hold back and go for it
Yo Dime! If you decide to go option #2 I can shoot you some DIY bumper parts for a really good price. All laser cut parts Also if you go Option #3 I've got a 6 over kit that pulls 18" of travel and is completely bolt on. It's Baja proven and looks as good as it functions.
The ‘23 Mint 400 Heatwaves. Not sure what style heatwaves they are but they sell them. You just wouldn’t be able to get the ear pieces unless they have extras laying around
Why not make this truck your dedicated off roader and buy another commuter vehicle? Also, sounds like you need to go long travel, youre going to anyways eventually! Probably cheaper in the long run to just buy once, cry once
I say meet in the middle
1) built core support
2) 2” McNeil fiberglass
2.5) KalilFab bumper. Best looking Tacoma tube bumper
3) Camburg in between kit with the slapper. Retain OEM replacement Kings( saves money) uses bumps. Little wider. Saves some money.
4) Run 35s and 17s anyways
You got the right idea 🤙🏼
Doesn't look like Kalifab makes a second gen bumper, but I do 👌 #dezerttoyfab
I daily dirt king long travel and it’s great. Buy once, cry once.
Option 3 would be dope, is the guy who hit you throwing any cash your way? That’s a big factor imo
He’s hooking it up with replacements and repairs for what was damaged. That’s all I’ll say for now 👀🤫
If you do option 3 that means you’ll want to also later on back half the truck so it looks symmetrical to the front which is more money on top of what you’ve already done.

You’re reading my mind man!
Please option 3
Option 3 is the best I’m in progress doing my 2019 ranger a long travel hopefully by next year my truck would be finished
Option 3 all day brotha !
An OEM+ look would be dope like that other grey 2.5 Gen you reviewed a while back.
Yeah I talk to Michael all the time and joke about us building the same exact truck haha
Option 3 sounds great but then you’ll have to work on the rear to keep up with the front. So I’ll say option 2 is best for now because that’s what I’m looking to do with my Tacoma and this build will inspire me to do it. 😅
Yeah once I cross into the LT threshold then it’ll just be a never ending snowball

I vote for option #1.5. Replace stock fender, headlight and core support but add aftermarket prerunner bumper.

Option 3. No question
No point if he plans on getting a second vehicle and like he said he wants this one to be a daily.
Mine has almost 140k on it. I want to redue my suspension set up. But Also have put my new finders and top rad support & get new hood

Option 3 would be nice and daily driving a long travel truck isn’t bad drove old truck with a 5.5 kit and now with my new daily waiting on my lt kit 😂

Advanced makes nicer fiberglass (less fit up etc) for the 2nd gen Tacoma ..
what exhaust do you run? Also what spindle do you have I can’t find it. Thanks
I have a black widow widow maker muffler with. Turndown pipe before the axel. The spindle is a Maxtrac 4” lift spindle
Option 3
dime what kinda sunglasses are those in the crash vid
The ‘23 Mint 400 Heatwaves. Not sure what style heatwaves they are but they sell them. You just wouldn’t be able to get the ear pieces unless they have extras laying around
Make this the dedicated off-roader and buy a dedicated daily
Why not just run 315’s with your 16’s? Seems like you can save a chunk of change that way🤙🏽
My heart says long travel it but brain says fiberglass unless you get some hooked up with the long travel
get a daily and fully build this one to make it epic
How many miles dose ur truck have
~93k
That’s nothing bro
Just go 2 desert dollar .
😂😂 I’m hoping to come back as at least a desert 50 cent piece
FULL long travel it
I’d say 3 and get a newer daily
I’m sorry but anyone else notice only the girl screamed when he got hit😂😂
screw it beams and 4 link at this point
Ur gonna spend money to fix it back to the way it was. Might as well and go dirtking
Haha the math ain’t mathing
I know you want option 3. I want option 3. The people want option 3.
SO……. OPTION 3!!!!
