Scott Ste Marie is THE BEST resource I have found in my 30+ years of coping with anxiety and depression. I am sure he has saved countless lives with his work and I KNOW he has changed mine. This talk is a hard earned and well deserved success. And it is only the beginning! Congratulations, my friend!

    Scott,
I wonder if you realize that depressives are preoccupied with the word perfection. Depressives often think that they need to be perfect, that the world expects them to be perfect. You also use the word better a lot. I am sure you realize that depressives often think they need to be better to be acceptable to others and themselves.
I am not sure why you shift from curiosity to perfectability in your talk, but I believe that the last thing depressives need is a talk about getting better and getting perfect. I believe the urge to get better or striving for perfection is the very thing that depresses people.
You can be curious and at the same time accept that you might never find answers to some questions that you have. But why would never finding answers to some questions be so terrible?
When getting out of depression I tried to change from thinking "I am not perfect and that is terrible" to "I am not perfect, but I am enough. So I am OK." That may sound like a simple change in my way of thinking but to me it made the difference between being depressed and being content.

Steef Scheepers Such a great point. I know that it’s seeking perfection and validation from others that has caused me to be anxious and depressed for the longest time.

Love the talk. Very humbling “I know nothing” there is always something to learn, a whole lifetime of things to learn. Learning is fun! It gives us knowledge. Even an 80 year old who is full of wisdom, still has things to learn! You can never learn enough

I know nothing the world is but constant evolution your past experienced knowledge, habits, cultural, social are a drop in the ocean to be put in perspective of the time moment and things again and again and if you stop asking questions you have stop questioning you have stopped evolving in creating revision for yourself. Paths are lay by your own thoughts so depends on the questions. Some people have stop questioning or don't want to find new solutions that may be along your path too. May you courageously leap to the place you aspire while traveling the labyrinth of life.

there's this "butterfly effect", small transformations that lead to big ones over time. We are living in a time where we're sustaining what our previous generations have done and looking for ways to improve them. It's a human desire to keep going (in most cases). this gives us what we have right now.
we can be grateful, however, be cautious. nowadays, a lot of commercial businesses do whatever it takes to sell us cheap products and not minding the future effects they'll bring. I hope the good intentions are always on top.

  • @thefruitdude8001

Awesome talk. You look so chilled and confident. :)
I wanna add something to the thought of questioning everything. And that is to ask questions that are helpful.
It all has it's two sides. For some people questioning everything can be a big source of excitement and motivation. But for others it can lead to an existential crisis or other mental illness...
Therefore I learned to ask helpful questions instead and by doing that my life improved a lot :)

I do not know how I came across this you tube video. I saw Yashoda and started to watch. I teared up with you and then danced in front of TV by my self. I am a leukemia survivor. Music was one thing that helped me. I do not know much music. I have no formal training but I came up with words and compositions had no idea where they came from. I agree if there is no adventure why travel stay in your comfort zone. I like to drink the experience I have when I travel. Specially now I appreciate new things more when I got a second chance in life. Thanks for doing this. After your video suryagayathri rahul and Kuldeep pais video came up and I was thinking about sharing that with you. Since I am a devotee of Yashoda Gopal and serve his Diety I loved the song even more. Thanks again.
