This is, quite possibly, the best review of the Ryzen 7 8700G and 5 8600G I have seen! This test suite is way more tuned to the target customer that would be interested in this product.
In the price you should take into account the mobo + ram investment though. As a person with a 5600g it would be way better to buy a GPU haha. In Argentina though the 8700g will be prohibitively expensive so I can only dream about it lol. Thanks for your work, I find the numbers to be very informative regarding the titles. Cheers!!
Thank you, And yes agreed, if you already own an APU, a dedicated GPU is a much larger upgrade in performance. As you can see from our results using the 6500XT 😊
Well, hello to you all, too! lol I'm surprised there's only 49K subs for this channel. Production value is really high here, and what you'd expect from a channel with a sub count well close to, if not in the 6 figure range. I'd say these chips aren't for the "high-end, ultra-performance-wanted" crowd. And you know what? I'm really okay with that. Not every build needs to be pushing for 18,000K resolutions and 10,000,000,000 FPS performance. 🤣 I just picked up a Ryzen 5 8600G for a mini-pc build I'm doing next week. I can't wait to get all the parts and get it all together. I'm torn on whether to bother with Windows or go for Linux Mint with it like I've done with my Lenovo. I know that I'll probably be looking to underclock it, if I can find the sweet spot, as it's going in a really small case and the stock cooler is pushing the limit (may actually be a millimeter too tall) of what I can fit inside the case.
not sure if a 8700g is budget at $300 (plus expensive high speed memory needed),you can get last gen amd cpu and a low end 1660 super/ ti and out perform it.
As a AMD Ryzen 5 4600G user, wow i regret buying it on sep 2022 after waiting for 2 years for AMD to release to shop & now seeing the performance of AMD Ryzen 7 8700G & 5 8600G in gaming.
@hawky2k215 :D you have confused the categories 8700g price is $329 12100f is $99 For price 8700g you can buy 12100f + rx6600 nad have three times more fps than on 8700g. if you pay $230 extra and swap the 12100f for a 8700g you won't get any extra fps, because rx6600 is too slow.
this both apus are garbage and they are only for "gamers" which are gaming games which are 10 years old or more because igpu of this APUs are somewhere on rx 560 level or slightly better and with that gpu in 2024 you can only cry on newest games
Nobody should buy one of these if they are "budget gamers", they cost too much for the performance you get. Get a 5600g or 5700g used system with 6600xt instead, or something like that in intel form with a real gpu cheaper. The only real reason to get one of these is if you are just a geek who wants to make a tiny system with no GPU for the cool factor and not the price to performance ratio.
Only time anyone should buy an APU is if they never plan on buying a dedicated video card. Or they need more monitor option. Though all most all Cpu come with integrated graphics so yeah APU are bad choice
for amount of $ dollars spent on 8700G, I would rather spend on rx 7600xt 16gb graphics card paired with Ryzen 5 5600 CPU playing at 1080p with detail settings set on high and ultra and still attains + 100fps. 8700g is not good value APU

Yeah she's definitely paid off.
Can you use these APU for live streaming with your overlays and alerts

Thank you for this. I have been on your site three times recently looking for a custom, 8700G based system to replace my 4650G and came away no wiser.
Thanks for the review. It's very informative!
Briony good review! I think this platform it's the best for high level office productivity
On my Ryzen 5 8600G I could play Rocket League on an ultrawide with satisfying 60 FPS.
thanks for your review , my greatings from libya
How if try to benchmard AMD Ryzen 5 8600G + RX 6500XT compare with Ryzen 7 8700G + RX 6500XT. Thanks
Please test ryzen 5 8500g vs ryzen 7 5700
Is there a massive difference between the crimson pc and the amber pc?
can 8700G handle game streaming pliz answer
Wraith Spire and stealth. The prism is a bit more sophisticated and has heat pipes and LED's

8600g better for the money. both being memory bound regardless
It is but still way to overpriced

Ok👍🤔
12100 + RX6600 are buget kings for gaming.
@hawky2k215
:D you have confused the categories
8700g price is $329
12100f is $99
For price 8700g you can buy 12100f + rx6600 nad have three times more fps than on 8700g.

@hawky2k215 " Also for 12100f you'll need a GPU"
Yes, and with RX6600 you have three times more fps in games for the price of 8700g.
8500G + Arc A580 more like
doubt its a budget
Wawaweewa

Im not buying this cpu to use it single handedly aha

7600xt on high and ultra at over 100fps? What are you playing, Minecraft?
100fps+ is crazy on high and ultra in cyberpunk. How are you able to achieve that with the 7600xt.
