Thanks for the excellent video. Clutch has screwdriver notches on it where you can tap the clutch clockwise to remove it. Don’t really need a clutch removing tool or to pull the plug. Clutch also self-tightens when you run the saw because of the left-handed or reverse thread.

That is a nice job of replacing the oil pump on that saw. I have two saws made by their company and they are difficult to crank so I don't use them. I have a Stihl saw with the same problem so I only have been using my battery saw made by Poulan Pro to do the work around my home.

    Dony,
I found this video very helpful in finding my bar oiler problem, which turned out to be dirt & gunk build up on the bar and pump area and all is well now. I did notice the oil tank supply hose has a screen filter on the end of it and was very discolored. I only use bar oil in the saw so I’m not sure what caused this to happen. I sprayed it with carb cleaner but not sure if it’s allowing oil to flow correctly. I was unsure how to replace that line so I left it alone. If you could, I’d like to see that line replaced in a video.
    Thanks,
    Kevin E.

Call me lazy I Made the clutch tool adapt to my 1/4 inch impact. I have done piles of em that way. Worth mentioning sometimes that vent next to the oiler tube sometimes gets clogged.

What about excessive oil? Do you think its the adjustment?? I ordered another oiler though being that it did turn by my fingers, but felt kinda hard though.

Love this content as well! So again - thank you for uploading this! But the video left me with some questions: Is it normal that you can pull up the Clutch drum on a Husqvarna 440 / Jonsered 2240 slightly? I can lift the drum on my saw some 2-3 mm and just wondered if this is normal? Also i would like to know if the clutch Cover raises its back as the screw pressed it down on the front to secure the bar correctly. And also as the 440/2240 has an oilpump which isn't adjustable but spills a lot of oil while running. Can you demonstrate how much oil is normal? Does this saws usually spill a lot of it underneath the cover, and if so - how much is too much? Do you recommend fixing the tubes with something like Hylomar? Would be very thankful if you could find the time to answer this questions (or maybe dave could find some time for this)?

Pump itself needs lubrication, to keep it functional. suspect wrong oil or a clog, result in insufficient oil for the pump to work and lubricate itself.

The person that owns the saw was using it to trench the ground to run a new water line AND a new sewer line. I've let others use my chainsaw while I've been there, first telling them to keep the chain out of the dirt, then if I see them try to cut soil I stop them and tell them they need to buy their own darn saw. It isn't rocket surgery to understand that gritty sand and dirt is going to cause problems, especially at those rpms.
Thanks for what you do Don!

I did a similar thing to mine helping the old lady next door. Was cutting trees off at ground level that grew through an old junk car in her back yard that needed shifting. All sorts of dirt and sawdust got up behind the damaged chain guide plate and blocked up the oiler pump which chewed out the worm gear that drives the pump. Lesson: keep saw out of the dirt.

Hey don I got a question. I just got a makita concrete saw for $130 used with the pull start broken
So me and my dad opened it up and fixed the starter and put it back together. I should have noticed something was us when there was no blade belt and a few of the screws were missing
Anyways I fixed it and once I started it it runs but on like half throttle and it wont stop any idea what that could be? It revs higher when you give it throttle but I have no clue what to do
And also any idea where I could find a aftermarket belt? I'm not very interested in paying $50 for a oem one
