Changed plans a little and I am thinking more of something like Da Nang Vietnam, mostly because I like the food and girls there. But that whole SE Asia area is great. I just got back from Thailand last month, was visiting there for my first time. I too would like to move there now, because I'm tired of the cost of living in the States. I agree with you on not wanting to use the word "cheap" because it may be offensive to the locals. When I went, we have friends who've already been living there for years, so we hung out with their local friends. We would go to touristy areas to eat. They would always be reluctant to eat. And later on during our trip, I found out the reason why they were reluctant to eat is because, even though everything is cheap to us, it's still expensive to them. So, I started feeling like it was insensitive to say things are cheap in Thailand.
Did you try to go northern Thailand yet? If not, I highly suggest you to go to Nan province, there are mountains, good air, very few people and by few people I mean dead silence 😂 so wholesome to be there and you won’t regret.

Have many digital nomad people live in Thailand..from UK . Australia and USA ..they have a group..you must join them. Some of them TH-camr as well. They all around the world but end up Thailand it is them second home to stay ..chaigmai of Thailand it is good city for digital nomad for living for my idea lol and bkk and Pattaya 💖⭐💕 the reason of this 3 city I think good for digital nomad because they are got everything and easy to live for foreigner.thailand it is digital nomad country.. everything in Thailand good and price good for living. Hospitality and service and foods. This is the best and kindly people lot more than bad people in Thailand

You don’t need a 2 way roundtrip to board the plane from the US to enter Thailand like in Colombia for example? You can’t leave the us to board the plane to Colombia without a return ticket
You mentioned you bought a one way ticket to Thailand. Before it was a round trip ticket that was required, has the requirements changed recently? I too have a one way ticket for next year but need to know just in case the ticket needs to be altered.

You can use a site called onward to show a return booking. It’ll only cost you like $14
