Appreciate your efforts, great video on difference between WAP4 & WAP5. Also WAP5 is the fastest locomotive in Indian Railways with 160kmph permissable speed. The maximum speed of WAP5 is 225kmph (gear ratio is different.) WAP4 maximum speed is 177kmph & it is a very successful locomotive, extension of WAP1, (WAP2 & WAP3 were failures). WAP5 was initially imported from Switzerland, it is a product of ABB company.

WAP 5 can easily pull 24 ICF coaches or 26 LHB coaches at speeds of 130-160 km/h. On Western Railway Zone, BRC WAP 5s (and the occasional GZB WAP 5s) easily haul many 24 coach trains and still maintain good punctuality. You are correct on the fact that WAP 5s are meant for speed and not very high power but that doesn't mean that the WAP 5 cannot haul 24 coach trains. WAP 5s are beautiful beasts. In the coming years though, dual WAP 5s will haul 16-20 coach 160-200 km/h push-pull Inter City day trains (not Shatabdis, as Shatabdis will be replaced by Train-18 EMU train sets) and dual WAP 7s will haul 22 coach 140 km/h push-pull Overnight trains (not Rajdhanis as Rajdhanis will be replaced by train-20 EMU train sets). Stopping passenger trains (16 coaches) should be hauled by remaining dual WAP 4s in push-pull mode at speeds of 110 km/h (although, stopping passenger trains should be gradually replaced by fast, AC EMU train sets).
GZB WAP5 also hauls 24-coach trains like Gorakhdham Exp, Lichchavi Exp, Marudhar Exp, Lohit Exp and so on.
Recently, two modified (upgraded) WAP5 were tested with Prayagraj Express and Purushottam Express. The continuous power output was increased from 5440 HP (around 4000 kW) to 6125 HP (around 4500 kW).

Fact : Howrah Rajdhani and Prayagraj Express were the first two trains to get WAP5 after they were imported from Switzerland and commissioned for service in 1997.
WAP5 locos have been hauling 24 coaches (Prayagraj) since then.

Upgradation of WAP5 to 6000+ HP and increase in speed potential up to 200 km/h was proposed long ago but reliability issues of hurth coupling is the reason why RDSO/CLW were reluctant to do so at that time.
Two years back, Railway Board had asked RDSO and CLW to explore the possibility of upgrading the speed potential of 6120 HP WAP7 loco from 140 km/h to 160 km/h in order to run longer Gatimans (16 to 18 coaches).
Now, WAP7 loco in its current state is not suitable for hauling trains at speeds beyond 140 km/h and so, lots of changes are required in its design. RDSO came up with the idea of reducing the weight of WAP7 loco from 123 tons to 108.5 tons by reducing the thickness of the side walls, using WAP5's cabs and so on. In short, they had to introduce P5's features to get that extra speed.
It was found during studies that the designed capacity of WAP5 was not fully utilized. In order to utilize the full capacity of WAP5's traction motors and other hardware, a software modification was proposed by RDSO and Bombardier (the OEM). A few months back, CLW rolled out a WAP5 loco (30136) with Bombardier made IGBT based propulsion system and increased power output of above 6000 HP (4500 kW) Last month, this locomotive was repeatedly tested with 12802/01 Purushottam Express. Another WAP5 (most probably 30009) with GTO based propulsion system was also modified and tested with Prayagraj Express. What is remarkable about these upgraded locos is that the changes are required only at software level for increasing the power. Based on successful trials, RDSO/CLW decided to proliferate the modification in all WAP5 locomotives.

For ex. WAG9 aur WAP7 ki HP same hai , lekin WAG9 ka Gear Ratio high hai aur weight bhi zyada hai jisse wo 50 - 60 fully loaded goods wagons ko easily kheench sakta hai , wahi WAP7 ka gear ratio aur weight kam hai , jisse wo utna weight nahi kheench sakta .

Wap 5 is also capable of pulling 24 or 25 coach. But it is designed for high speed train which are generally not heavy. Earlier Mumbai rajdhani was pulled by Wap 5 and it was not light weight train. But later after it was replaced by Wap 7 which has more power than Wap 4 and wap 5 and tractive effort more than Wap 4
And also due to HOG availability in WAP-7

Very nice video, Iam happy that you are putting out nice educational videos and in Hindi for the widest reach. Just one point .. Co-Co = more traction .. equivalent to 6 driven axles while Bo=Bo = less traction but better speed .. only 4 driven axles. It is like a 2WD and 4 WD car .. a 4WD car provides better traction on slippery surfaces ( and the tracks can be considered slippery considering their low coefiicient of friction ) ..This is why the WAP7 was developed as a replacement for the ageing WAP-4s.

Awesome Technical details provided, it sufficient to understand. Sir, regularly I am watching Knowledge Knor, earlier also I requested for a video on Catering service provided inside the train. They never charge as per Rate list mentioned on IRCTC website of behind the Confirmed railway ticket, they have placed own Menu card list and price. If we object , then they argue with us. Where and how we can complain about these loot happening inside the train by these caterers I am not aware. I had complained once in IRCTC website, but it seems it went unanswered. Any direct telephone numbers where I can speak and complain about these guys. To be frank....even you are also aware that Caterers charge excess price from us and this issue is being faced by one and all. I think it will be an interesting topic if you make a video on the same, as it is common matter for all of us who travel by train. Thank u
