- Toyota Tacoma 3rd Gen grills are a dime a dozen especially the 2016-2023 TRD Pro Grill. YotaVerse put their spin on a 2024 Pro Heritage Grille that gives an update much like the Tundra and Sequoia. In this video, I show how to install and wire the raptor lights on this grill into my 2022 TRD Off Road with the TSS Sensor - and YES, my TSS Sensor fully functions after the install!

Great video. Really really well put together.
Thanks buddy! Thanks for stopping by.
Every single Tacoma owner will get this grill.
Honestly, I haven't seen another Tacoma with it yet
Ya I rarely see it
I love the intro music, then the super soft spoken person.
Thanks - glad you like it. Thanks for watching
Great video Rich
Thanks buddy!
this was so helpful. I just got my 23 tacoma, looking to get this grille. but might wait to see if they change the color of the garnish to blend in more
Thanks for watching! yeah, I'm sure they have something in the works
just tint it
@@gerard4441 they’re releasing an updated one next month
Yeah, either that, or I'm going to cover it with a matte vinyl. Testing this week......
Any update on tinting the TSS cover? Thanks!
Great installation video. I’m eyeing this for my 23 Trd Sport MT. Before I purchase, I’m trying to figure out how to hook up those side LED if I want to run it at the same time with Raptor and DRL?
I have my Raptor light set to only turn on when the headlights are on - which explain which fuse I tapped into. You can likely tie yours into the same one, or find the one that captures the DRL lights. The side lights have extra wires too - for the turn signals - I believe they have the capability to be either amber or white.
Thanks for another great video - I have this inbound and can’t wait to install. I really hope that yotaverse “fixes” the TSS cover plate (sorry that’s what I call it); that silver is yowza bright….
Nice! I still have the "truck look back effect" with this grill - it really stands out. I've had several people already ask me which grill it was. Yes, Aspire/Yotaverse has it in the works to fix the bright silver....I'm still going to try window tint here soon on mine.
Please let us know how the window tint works! I’m actually thinking of mounting the big T on mine until the new garnish arrives. If window tent would work, I would go that route for sure. Thanks.
@@bmcpaul Good deal, hitting up a tint place tomorrow. Let us know how the T works with the sensor being that high up
Put it on using your video - with the letters - and covered the garnish with a cheap 20% black window film - looks awesome and zero issues with TSS. I’d upload a pic if I knew how ;)
Nice! I just got mine wrapped with tinted 7 year PPF today - it looks so much better! My TSS is still fine as well with the PPF
Subbed! I got the same grille, without the side DRLs/signals, and with their new "blacked out" tss garnish and front camera bracket. The new garnish is just a tad darker but it still stands out. I really like what you did, would you mind sharing the exact brand/model of tint/ppf you used? I was thinking of using XPEL Slate Smoke Headlight PPF, either 25 or 35% but need to find a shop as I've had terrible experience with wrapping myself.
The only thing holding me back from buying this grille is all the lights. I would prefer this exact grille but with the cut outs for LED DRLs and Raptors not there. Less to break and possibly would hold up better?
Guess I am a simple man with simple tastes. Really like that it’s not same old Pro Grille ….. and unique (for now). @jjlevitt95 Do you have a link on the grille you bought?
Nice! Yeah, I went to a shop that does PPF/Wraps and had them match a good quality tinted PPF and it looks great now! I posted a photo of it on the community tab if you want to check it out. It will also be in an upcoming video for RekGen mudflats
Great video ! Do you know if I would still use a 7.5A and 10A on the Add-a-fuse if I want to tap into the INJ (Lights on when ignition is on) for the raptor lights?
I would use the same amp fuse you pulled out of the slot you're tapping into. Then the extra port would be for the Raptor lights...that can be the 7.5A
@@tacomanetworkThank you 😀
Nice
Thanks for watching!
thanks for the vid! Do you know theres a way to mount the OEM front camera?
Not officially. I'm sure you can get creative and mount it to one of the sections though.
There is now
I was waiting to see how the side lights look on the grill
Sorry about that. I wasn't a fan of the additional lights on the grill...and it looks like Aspire (Yotaverse Grill Vendor) makes one without the side marker lights.
Stellar Video! What path did you use to route the Rapter Light's harness to the fuse box? In your video I can't tell if you went under the radiator or beside it. When you replace the fuse box lid, does the red lead still allow it to close tightly - or how did you deal with this?
I routed it through the front end supports towards the battery side, then into the engine compartment by the battery. I spent way more time on routing wires than really mounting the grill as I wanted a semi factory look without wires dangling everywhere. As for the fuse lid, I was able to still close the lid just with a small "V" notch to allow the wire to pass through the seal. I'm in dry SoCal, so it shouldn't be an issue
@@tacomanetwork Gotcha - I'm a stickler for wires being neatly routed too. With regard to the fusebox - I'm in the midwest, so rain and snow are a concern. I might try to drill a small hole in the box and insert a rubber grommet. I could pass the lead through that. Or... I may lose patience and try the "V" notch because I can't wait to see the finished project!
Did you replace the mini low profile fuse with a regular mini add a fuse?
I dropped the add-a-fuse into the main box, then replaced the two slots in the add a fuse with the included extra fuses
Do u have one of these for the new v2 Tacoma grill or alpha grill?
I'm not sure what you mean - I have the V2 Pro grill from YotaVerse
How to order this sit
Did the tint on garnish affect TSS functionality?
I ended up using a tinted PPF from a local shop - it worked out great looks wise and my TSS works perfectly like usual. I posted a photo on my channel under the Community tab if you want to see it. It’s stealth now! 😁👍
Did you hook up the side lights on the actual grill?
I didn’t. I didn’t like the additional lights there….but happy that the light lens nearly look like carbon fiber though.
does anyone know how to make the raptor lights always running and how to wire the side lights on the grilles so they can be used as drl’s and blinkers
For the Raptor lights, you just need to pick a fuse that will allow them to continuously run. As for the side lights, you have to tap into your actual turn signal/DTR light wiring to make them work from what I understand. I opted out of that
Sorry if this is a dumb question but, does the grill plate even need to be switched out for the garnish??? Couldn't one just leave the piece in and put something behind it or would the sensor not fit? Honestly I feel even a blacked out garnish would look far better than this and they still have no other option on their website.
Hey, thanks for watching - two things, 1. the garnish on my TRD OR was the large round "T" on the grill, so it had to be removed. 2. the garnish on the V2 grill has the wider grill pattern than the 3rd gen TRD Pro grill, so it wouldn't match. If you check my mud flap, I I have video of the grill with tinted PPF on the garnish - cost me a few bucks at a PPF/Tint shop. It looks great now!
Can this work on the 2021 srs
It worked great on my 2022. No shimming or anything.
Can you drop a link for this exact one in a 2022?
I have link in the video description - directly to YotaVerse
Maybe a subscribe? What grill do you run on your 3rd Gen Tacoma? 🤔
just got my 23 sr5 long bed on monday! installed seat covers and blackout emblems, this will be my last mod for a while
Probably obvious, but are those the black or silver letters?
This one shows the black letters - I wanted an all black looking grill. If you check my community post here, I posted a photo of the garnish treated with a tinted PPF to black that out too - it looks great now!
looks like Irvine?
Very close - the old Tustin Air Station.
No option for a forward camera?
Not that I'm aware of. I'm sure it can be done if you're creative though....the openings are quite large
They include the option now
Not thrilled with the look of the TSS sensor garnish.
Yeah, they're working to fix that. I'm probably going to window tint mine for the time being
Its an aftermarket grill, Not a TRD Pro Grill ! It may or may not be a quality product and always question the TSS Garnish/ sensor cover
90% of the “TRD Pro” grills on trucks are aftermarket replicas….just like this. I’ve driven about 6,000 miles now since the install including some long road trips with radar cruise and it’s performed flawlessly. It’s quality thus far.
$279 + shipping + tax. I am out. I have the older model and DO NOT need to up grade that bad. That and it looks odd with the Toyota name up so high on the grill. It does not look right.
All is good...I like the updated look, as they modeled the raised TOYOTA logo after the 2024 Tacoma and the current gen Tundra. I just couldn't bring myself to drop in the same 3rd gen "Pro" grill that literally every other Tacoma has.
