my friend today I installed my TRD RAPTOR grill and this grill came in ready to install the sensor everything went well all I did was unplug as per video the sensor from the top after re install of grill no problem did not hook up the lights to fuse box ,went to store and the radar light came on saying clean sensor stopped at store when going home sensor was working after driving a few blocks sensor light came back on? we to auto zone bought electric cleaner and dryer applied plugged back in everything ok ,after ten blocks of driving sensor light came back on? please help bub8golf@yahoo.com
Hey I was wondering if u know where I can do the add a fuse for the raptor lights to work off the parking lights instead of the headlights....mine are hooked up to the headlights and I want mine to come on when parking lights are just one do u know which one to plug into the fuse box to have them come on with just parking lights

Dude you are the man. The instructions from the company I got mine from didn’t include details on putting the fuses into the wiring provided and I was ripping my hair out for two days trying to figure it out.
Great video. I used different lights they are just round amber LEDs. The “add a fuse” tap was a new piece for me so that made the wiring super simple, went to the fuel pump fuse so they work as extra day time running lights. 7 lights in the same row you used. Thanks again.
Alex Yes the lights go on when the truck starts. I have 7 LEDs across the top of the grip as running lights. They show up better than the ones in the headlight. Using the Add-a-Tap means I can take them out easily.
@@trentswinarchuk3881sorry for the delay been cleaning up the Gladiator and working in the yard. But, no I used the F-04 on the edge nearest the motor sided edge of the fuse box. It is a 20 amp so just put in a 20 amp fuse on both. Massive overkill in the little LED s. I’m up to 15 bulbs now. 2 - in each of the outside vertical 3 in the center. Almost looks like a light bar … just not as bright.

Great video. I have been trying to figure out where to plug in my fuse and your video steered me in the right direction. You mentioned 10A h-LP RH-LO, My 1st gen sequoia doesn’t have those exact numbers in my fuse box. The closest I see is 15A h-LP RH. Is that the one I am looking for? If so what number of fuse should I go with?
Love the video, question: I’ve seen different videos with people stating different fuses for the add a fuse. I just bought a kit that came with 2 5 amp fuses, but you mention a 15 on top and 10 on the bottom. I’m really confused about this. Hoping you can set the record straight. Thanks again
@@pewbangpew8109 i thought the accessory output (15A) cant be higher Amp rating that the vehicle fuse (10A). i thought it was supposed to be equal or less
What fuse did you connected to? I have raptor lights already and I’m trying to put some alpharex headlights on my SR5 but don’t know what other fuse to use?
Basically, the add fuse sticks out to the left, blocking the fuse box from closing. Cannot close fuse box without crushing the fuses I just installed. Help?
Yes and no there’s a way to get it to close but it’ll slightly clip the wire another way which I’d recommend is add some wire to it and run it to the fuse box inside the driver side cab by your left foot
Great vid. Only issue was the outer lights on the grill would not fit,I had to slightly trim the sides of the LEDs using scissors and then they clicked in perfectly.
Great video but mine only show up with the full lights on they do that show up with just my daytime running lights on anyway to get them to be on for all light settings?
When you set the lights up in the wide 4 pattern, did you have to use a Dremel to fit the two outside lights? I was going to set mine up like that and the lights on the end wouldn't fit. Needed a little bit cut out to fit right. It's also an aftermarket TRD grill, not the factory one.

@scarillo31 yeah, there’s also a fuse to wire it to so it’s on even with the DRLs but not sure which fuse that would be I just wired it to the headlight fuse like the video
I have a query. Please do answer it. If i wire my amber lights with the drl fuse of my car with the fuse tap, will they turn on when i turn the ignition key on cause the drl turns on when i turn the ignition key?
I plugged it in that same spot and the lights are always on And how did you run the wire out of the fuse box? Did you trim the seal or what if you just put the top back on the fuse box it crimps the wire?
So you did an add-a-fuse plug into the fuse box? Seems like the water proofing is gone and the wire is getting pinched. I recommend getting it hardwired to the DRL's.
@@JesseRizo Something happened today that I was wondering if you could help me out in resolving. All of a sudden the LEDs stopped working. I popped the fuse box cover off and the add-a-fuse had become loose. However, I did notice a sharp crease in the add-a-fuse line from where the fuse box cover snaps down. Is there a way to run the add-a-fuse wire out of the fuse box without it getting crimped?

Would it be legal to install amber grill lights on a smaller vehicle like Subaru outback? I drive remote mountain roads in California and i want to be seen! My understanding is that they are mandatory for certain size vehicles, optional for large trucks, and neither required nor expressedlyprohibited for smaller vehicles.
My add a fuse grill lights came with another fuse connected that didn't fit in the fuse box like a car amp fuse but the same size. Have you seen this? I just installed it and it works but haven't seen one after watching the install videos.
U can run a extended wire into the cab and with the add a fuse tap into the fuse box in there look for a open spot that will run when the trucks on and you’ll be fine ima do mine like that just havnt had the time lol
what fuse is that ? i have a 2000 tacoma that ima install the lights on i did it on my 2014 cherokee but i had to tap into the lighter fuse since that was the only one that didnt have running power after turning the car off. soooooo what fuse is that ? lol. headlights?

What’s the best way to deal with the added wire coming out of the fuse box now? I don’t like closing the lid on the wire so I’m assuming I’ll have to drill a hole and seal it?

What fuse do I hook into So I can get them to turn on when the running lights turn on with the second click before the head lights turn on? 2nd gen 2015 base model 4.0
I’m trying to find the video I did but I’m having trouble but long story short if you can extended the wire I’d suggest tapping into the inside fuse box look for a acc applicable fuse and tap into that better (I ran it outside like in the video) for the longest never had a problem but it does get dusty in there over time and to close you have to cut a slight slit and even then it slightly pinches the wire which allows slight dust over time to sink in so if u have extra wire I’d recommend that
So they sent me the fuse adapter for the regular fuses, but fits in the micro fuse. Also the adapater only takes the regular sized 10am fuses, not the micro. If I plug this in will it damage anything?

Jessie, just picked up a grille and raptor lights from another company. I have a 2020 Taco. I see you are using a 10 and 15 amp fuse on the add a fuse. I see other videos where 2 10 amp fuses are used on the add a fuse. They are tapping into the same slot as you are. Which one should I use? Thanks
I’m using the 10amp fuse. The fuse is to act as a safeguard so incase there is a surge in power. You want to use the next highest rated fuse for the amount of current the device is drawing from the battery. For example (values used just for example) if the lights use 5amps you should go with a 7.5amp fuse. If the fuse rating is too low it would blow the fuse and the circuit would not be complete. I would take the lights to a professional if you aren’t 100% sure what to do.
I installed 4 lights already on top of the grille but I'm thinking of installing another 4 on the bottom. Can I use the same fuse that I installed with the first 4 that I used?

@@TheBliz22 I ended up putting it in the INJ fuse since it was the same amperage as the headlights. I tried the DRL fuse since they turn on with the truck, but when I did that the raptor lights were constantly running even w the truck off.
How did you get fuse box to shut entirely? My front clip won’t snap on my 21 Tacoma with the wires coming out the side? It’s closed and won’t be used off road.

Dude you are the man. The instructions from the company I got mine from didn’t include details on putting the fuses into the wiring provided and I was ripping my hair out for two days trying to figure it out.

Does it have to be 15/10 on the fuse or can it be 10/10 ?
My raptor lights came with a 15 amp fuse in that spot, so that's the size for the raptor lights. You don't want to go smaller.

Great video. I used different lights they are just round amber LEDs. The “add a fuse” tap was a new piece for me so that made the wiring super simple, went to the fuel pump fuse so they work as extra day time running lights. 7 lights in the same row you used. Thanks again.
if you add to the fuel pump does it go on and off wit hthe truck as the daytime running lights?

Yes the lights go on when the truck starts. I have 7 LEDs across the top of the grip as running lights. They show up better than the ones in the headlight. Using the Add-a-Tap means I can take them out easily.

@@trentswinarchuk3881sorry for the delay been cleaning up the Gladiator and working in the yard. But, no I used the F-04 on the edge nearest the motor sided edge of the fuse box. It is a 20 amp so just put in a 20 amp fuse on both. Massive overkill in the little LED s. I’m up to 15 bulbs now. 2 - in each of the outside vertical 3 in the center. Almost looks like a light bar … just not as bright.

They turn on with your low beams that’s how I wired them up

Great video. I have been trying to figure out where to plug in my fuse and your video steered me in the right direction. You mentioned 10A h-LP RH-LO, My 1st gen sequoia doesn’t have those exact numbers in my fuse box. The closest I see is 15A h-LP RH. Is that the one I am looking for? If so what number of fuse should I go with?

Mine came with a 5 amp fuse but I went and bought a 15 and did what this guy did and I haven’t had any issues…what’d you wind up doing?

With that setup, do the raptor lights turn off/on with the headlight switch?
Basically, the add fuse sticks out to the left, blocking the fuse box from closing. Cannot close fuse box without crushing the fuses I just installed. Help?
Yes and no there’s a way to get it to close but it’ll slightly clip the wire another way which I’d recommend is add some wire to it and run it to the fuse box inside the driver side cab by your left foot
Great vid. Only issue was the outer lights on the grill would not fit,I had to slightly trim the sides of the LEDs using scissors and then they clicked in perfectly.
I had to do the same with my Tacoma I just used a file though

Great video but mine only show up with the full lights on they do that show up with just my daytime running lights on anyway to get them to be on for all light settings?
When you set the lights up in the wide 4 pattern, did you have to use a Dremel to fit the two outside lights? I was going to set mine up like that and the lights on the end wouldn't fit. Needed a little bit cut out to fit right. It's also an aftermarket TRD grill, not the factory one.

I have a query. Please do answer it. If i wire my amber lights with the drl fuse of my car with the fuse tap, will they turn on when i turn the ignition key on cause the drl turns on when i turn the ignition key?
I plugged it in that same spot and the lights are always on
And how did you run the wire out of the fuse box? Did you trim the seal or what if you just put the top back on the fuse box it crimps the wire?
How did you get the fuse box to close, with the wire sticking out? Could not get it to click in that corner without clipping the add a fuse wire
I cut The smallest slit in the lid but if u want to be say I’d recommend tapping into your fuse box that’s in the cab better
So you did an add-a-fuse plug into the fuse box? Seems like the water proofing is gone and the wire is getting pinched. I recommend getting it hardwired to the DRL's.

So, with the fuse add the wires from the new fuse hang over the fuse box. And you can’t close the box without crushing it.

I popped the fuse box cover off and the add-a-fuse had become loose. However, I did notice a sharp crease in the add-a-fuse line from where the fuse box cover snaps down. My understanding is that they are mandatory for certain size vehicles, optional for large trucks, and neither required nor expressedlyprohibited for smaller vehicles.

Your better off extending the wires and tapping into the inside fuse box and just look for one that will work when vehicles on you will need a tester
My add a fuse grill lights came with another fuse connected that didn't fit in the fuse box like a car amp fuse but the same size. Have you seen this? I just installed it and it works but haven't seen one after watching the install videos.

U can run a extended wire into the cab and with the add a fuse tap into the fuse box in there look for a open spot that will run when the trucks on and you’ll be fine ima do mine like that just havnt had the time lol

Yes you can. They have the same connection on the stock grill. It’s also the same for 2021

How do you close the fuse box tight with the wires coming out of it?
I’m trying to find the video I did but I’m having trouble but long story short if you can extended the wire I’d suggest tapping into the inside fuse box look for a acc applicable fuse and tap into that better (I ran it outside like in the video) for the longest never had a problem but it does get dusty in there over time and to close you have to cut a slight slit and even then it slightly pinches the wire which allows slight dust over time to sink in so if u have extra wire I’d recommend that
Simple get a small round file and put a notch in the plastic fuse box or cover for the wire to sit in
So they sent me the fuse adapter for the regular fuses, but fits in the micro fuse. Also the adapater only takes the regular sized 10am fuses, not the micro. If I plug this in will it damage anything?

Jessie, just picked up a grille and raptor lights from another company. I have a 2020 Taco. I see you are using a 10 and 15 amp fuse on the add a fuse. I see other videos where 2 10 amp fuses are used on the add a fuse. They are tapping into the same slot as you are. Which one should I use? Thanks

I’m using the 10amp fuse. The fuse is to act as a safeguard so incase there is a surge in power. You want to use the next highest rated fuse for the amount of current the device is drawing from the battery. For example (values used just for example) if the lights use 5amps you should go with a 7.5amp fuse. If the fuse rating is too low it would blow the fuse and the circuit would not be complete. I would take the lights to a professional if you aren’t 100% sure what to do.
How do you close the fuse box/put the top back on with the add use in there? This is my final step. Cut a slit?

@@TheBliz22 I ended up putting it in the INJ fuse since it was the same amperage as the headlights. I tried the DRL fuse since they turn on with the truck, but when I did that the raptor lights were constantly running even w the truck off.
Yea I had tried that to I should’ve mentioned it in the video but yea it seems it will only work with headlights unless u tie into a switch

How did you get fuse box to shut entirely? My front clip won’t snap on my 21 Tacoma with the wires coming out the side? It’s closed and won’t be used off road.
