Actually what your mom has suggested to put on the roti canai is not weird. Children n even some adults here in Malaysia love eating roti canai dipped with a bit of sugar or condensed milk. We also have roti pisang hehe.. U should try it! 😁✌

Put thin nutella spread, banana, cheese on half of it then fold and eat.
Put thin mayo spread, sausages cut in two, cranberry sauce on half of it and then fold and eat.
Take the roti cana kosong, cut into small squares then dip in beaten egg yolk and fry on non-stick pan. You can dip in dhal sauce or sour cream or anything savory.

For the soto ayam, normally we dont make it spicy originally. It will be just like a chicken soup with spices, then add kicap cili (soysauce blend with chilies) for the spicy kick. So kids n people who are not good with spicy can also enjoy them.

the Nasi Impit / Himpit (dont want to argue with people in comment section) are made in cube so we can use the satay stick to pick it up to eat. stab / poke (?) it, dip into kuah kacang, and yums!

You might want to try Indonesian food then as rendang originated from Padang, West Sumatera, Indonesia and heaps spicier and contain lots of spices and lots more food like different type of soto e.g. Soto Medan, Soto Surabaya etc etc
