- 🚫💦🚫🔫 What would Songkran be like no water guns and no tourists?
This year, my girlfriend and I joined our friends and went to the Samco village in the Ang Thong province of Thailand for my first ever "traditional" Songkran celebration. We brought our water guns but never used them. Instead, we partied with the locals, ate some rat and saw the biggest Buddha statue in all of Thailand. Big thank you to P'Ja and brother Robert for inviting us to go with them ofr this very special trip.

Great episode! Fun, happy times for you and your friends Leprechaun Pete! 555 I had heard of the Buddhist "hell garden" but never seen it. Back in the 90's my then Thai girlfriend got me to shave...and now 27 years later I am still shaving.... It was a bit traumatic for me at the time though! It's all good man, Sawadee Kraap and Sabaii dee mai kraap are about all I remember from my Thai classes...Thank everyone and you for being in this vlog. Peace and Love Y'all
Thank you very much 🙏🏼 This was a great trip and I know I’ll love having this video to look back on in my older years. Oh, and my girlfriend was bummed when I shaved after this trip. For me it’s just a cycle. Full beard, then goatee, then clean shave about 4-5 times a year I think.

I’ve only stayed at the Dustin Grand in Jomtien. It was a nice enough place but I’d prefer to stay closer to the beach if I ever move back.

Wow, so very different from what you experienced in Pattaya. Looks equally amazing though. You're really getting good with the Thai. I can tell a huge difference from your earlier videos. I'm sure you don't know as much as you would like and still run into issues here and there. But what you speak seems to come pretty effortlessly to you now.
Thank you. Yes, I’m pretty comfortable with the Thai I do know. My comprehension is getting a little better but that’s still the area I struggle most in.
Thai Buddhist hell or "narok" operates differently than Christian or Chinese hell. It is more like a jail or rehab center where what you'd be suffering depends on what you did when you were alive. Adulteries get to climb spiky tree naked. Liars get their tongue cut. Alcoholics get boiled in a giant wok. You reincarnate when your debt is paid.
