I fell in love with my thai wife the first time l met her. BUT l didn't marry her for a few years. I made sure l knew her and her family well before l did something that big. The whole person doesn't always show for a while. Be in love, but don't get pressured into anything or jump into anything too quick because you want it so badly. Get to know each other and let what happens happen.
Great advice and that’s awesome about you falling in love on your first date. I know these situations are a rarity here but I also know they do happen… more often than the negative grumps want to believe.
We aren’t looking at marriage anytime soon… a couple years down the road sounds about right before even considering anything like that.

Absolutely. I feel I still have at least one foot on the ground no matter how high my head is in the clouds.
I also went into our first date having peered through here Facebook 😆 Meeting through that platform probably gave us both a better sense of trust because we could see that at least our social media lives lined up with the stories that we shared.

Pete - I love your channel, partly because it’s about Thailand, where I want to visit and maybe stay long term, but also because you are a great guy. You have a great personality and a very authentic way about you. I am really glad you decided to share your excitement about your new person in your life, and I really hope it works out for you, because you are so enthused about it and how you are feeling. Don’t stop vlogging, and remember you don’t have to make your channel about her and you; keep doing what you’ve been doing. There’s an American vlogger in Cebu, Carefree Chris, whose channel I enjoy, and he met a girl. His channel then moved to being one in which he shared his experiences in the phils through the lens of their relationship, which was fine, but I had my reservations about watching a new relationship unfold in public view like that. Some months in, she was out of the picture, although they ended their relationship on good terms. Just keep that in mind as you make decisions about what to share as your relationship is in its early stages. Best to you.

Yeah, it’ll be at least a couple months before I’d even consider having her appear here. I’m sure I’ll talk about her some but I know once she comes on to the channel (if ever), she’ll bring unwanted attention. I am happy that there’s only been 3 comments I decided to remove so far and none of them were really that bad.

Your heart is one thing, but as long as you take care of your money and wealth, and not let all of that be jeopardized. I was only in Thailand for a month and met someone on week 3 that worked at one of my hotels in Phuket. I was not even looking for that because I knew I was going home in 2 weeks. Things just happen very quickly in Thailand. I was around 44, and she was 32. Single women in Thailand at that age are under so much pressure to find someone, and I could feel that urgency to get those claws in. She got the fairy tale 2 week luxury hotels, meals, and I got a massive dose of how things are very different compared to western women.
It’s a very common story out here and I see it all the time. Luckily, my partner really isn’t about the money. She helps me save money and I spend less monthly living with her than I did being single. She’s an amazing cook!
Congratulations! Go for it Pete all in. 12 months ago I took a chance clicking on a Tinder profile for a Thai lady I would not have otherwise. Now we are getting married and setting up our home together looking forward to better things. Top tip: remember when the first date happened and what you did, she will be impressed. I won't lie, I had a lot of reservations to begin with, but my lady dispelled them with love, trust and honesty. It sounds like you have the same with your lady. Best of luck.

Happy for you Pete. Do what’s best for you. Keep your personal life (Beyond telling your story on TH-cam) private. When and if you and her are comfortable with introducing her to the channel then make that decision at that time. There’s no rushing here. You got all the time! Speaking of time, I’ll be vacationing in Pattaya in less than 2 months now. April 16th to be exact. I hope you’re possibly around to meet up for a beer. Or a dinner somewhere around there. I’m looking forward to the trip. It’ll be my first time traveling to Thailand. For three weeks I’ll be moving all around there.
One question, I know you’re busy with your group and your regular TH-cam channel but I was wondering what is your take on reaction videos? I always thought it would be interesting to see a reaction channel from Thailand. You know once a week perhaps along with your regular content you react to like a Marvel show or something. Lol😅. I watch some reaction channels and have thought a little bit about doing it. The problem I have is that I watch a lot of TH-cam and have a pretty deep familiarity with music so I could only give honest reactions to new media.
I mostly watch hip hop reactors and anyone reacting to the artist Ren but other channels sometimes sneak in. I wish sometimes the TH-cam algorithm would recommend more things that are new to me besides the stuff I already watch (cracking the cryptic: sudoku, street skaters, reactors)

I fell in love with a Thai person last summer and all was great until I found out that I was being "2 timed" ( 2 falangs ). I ended it and it was extremely painful and only last month have I been able to return to sanity. I even met my replacement and sometimes we all hang out together. But I am happy that love story is behind me, as the negatives outweighed the positives --> I just could not see them clearly in the beginning because I was too goo-goo gaa-gaa.

I was single and bartending a few years ago at a wedding reception and had just broken up with a gal when one of the guests started flirting with me and kinda casually said when I closed the bar, I should come over to her friends to hang out, neither one of us were looking for anything serious and now, married for 26 years and we are actually in Vietnam and we’ll be back in Thailand for march in pattaya. Congratulations, Pete, on meeting someone wonderful. I know many people say it is wise to keep such personal feelings inside and that we feel stupid if things don't work out, but I have always been like you... jump in full steam and see what happens. And part of why your GF likely loves you is that you don't hide your emotions and are so worried about protecting yourself that it limits you. But you are wise to delay having her on our channel for the simple reason people can be unbelievably cruel for no reason. I can handle occasional shots at me, but when they target my GF, it makes me so upset. Luckily they are rare, but I have to take them down before she sees them or I know it will really hurt her. And in a way I would know I indirectly caused the hurt by having her on my channel. Continued success, Pete.

I dated a hotel receptionist ( but after many months of Facebook ) She and I met in 2014 and continued the relationship up until present day - We did move slowly - Moving In immediately is a case of following your heart - As long as things are as they seem - why not? It’s natural to safe guard however assets - Getting married or engaged fast isn’t necessary- what’s the hurry - You don’t want to end up in isaan building a two storey home in 2024 that’s for sure

Cool, man! Happy for you! Both feet in, I say. Love is not something to be overly protective about .. if you know its real. So when's the wedding? :) Just go the traditional route, which is likely all she's thinking too. You can always make it officially "legal" later .. if you guys choose to. But many Thai couples never do make things "legal", (My gf's parents, her sister's 15 year marriage, etc). The traditional method being enough for them to be husband and wife. And culturally, I think Thai people and at least we Americans (and I'm sure other western cultures) do share big similarities. They understand hard work, struggle, wanting to find happiness in life, have a good sense of humor .. and so many more foundational elements. But one thing they do much better than we do .. is patience. And it's a great tool they teach us .. about living each day and taking things as they come. You mean I don't have to be overly stressed in my western Capitalist way of thinking at all times? Huh? Who knew? Anyway .. happy for you! Enjoy! :)

I think you’re right about that. I just sent my passport away for renewal. It should take 6-8 weeks to get back and then we’ll start hitting the road. I much more hesitant to have her be on the channel than I was to talk about her at all. I’m in no rush.

Trust me, I know. I haven’t been coming here for long but I’ve lived here for a year. My girlfriend however is from Bangkok and only moved here this year because of reasons. I do know how crazy it is but there’s many unsaid reasons why our fears are at ease. My closest friends here know her and get it.
I had no intentions of falling in love. I didn’t look for it but the two of us found each other in this crazy city. I do appreciate people’s concerns… I’ve expressed concerns myself for other friends here. I also personally know of success stories here. I have two friends here happily married for 17 and 32 years respectively. It’s rare but it does happen.
