    Hi Andy! I hope that you and yours are all Well during this Pandemic: During this Stay At Home crisis, I recalled that I had some old 1:48 scale model aircraft in my basement... with some Testors Enamel paints... I’d thought maybe 7-8 years old... The receipt was in a box: 21-years old paint and models! Long and short: I found Andy’s Hobby Headquarters on TH-cam- (after finishing- badly- a model started well- 21 years ago!). Watching your tutorials, builds, chats, tours and trips (I Subscribed after watching a few episodes) I simply can’t Thank YOU enough! Simply the very best tutorials and data out there- I’ve watched many more from across the globe- bar none- I’ve found your channel, your tutorials, tone, clear speaking voice & insightful teaching methods

      Oops- did not intend to send yet: second to none. I went from a very old school neophyte, to a fairly good late starter. I’ve purchased- many of the pigments/paints/tools you’ve utilized- and compared via TH-cam- again- Spot On: Tamiya paints work as well as you’ve shown, the glues, pigments, accent liners, washes etc. Thank You! I’ve rediscovered a hobby I loved- and have taken it much further- it’s for me- also physically Brilliant therapy for a medical condition: Cheers and thanks: Note: I’ve visited your online center in Oregon to purchase many of the tools & all else you’ve shown us. Due to Pandemic clearly understand why many items out of stock: I WILL BE visiting and buying from you- Best to You- and again- Thank You!

    I began to like the Tamiya Panthers again, after I became disappointed in the quality of the other full interior companies, finding them of poor quality even though the detail was rich. Now I enjoy building the Tamiya kits with full exteriors offered by after market producers, and using the full detail kits I sadly purchased to build wrecks. By doing the research to do realistic wrecks, those sad 700+ part full interior kits became fun.

    Awesome Panther Andy! I watched this video because I am trying to decide which of Tamiya's G's to get, steel wheels, or regular wheels. This steel wheels kit is the newer of the two. I love the way these metal tracks look! Thank you for showing them. I also like the way the tracks look with the track wash, desert dust wash, sienna, and burnt sienna pigments. Thanks for making these videos. I enjoy watching and learning a few tips.

    Andy, I like your idea of using staples for the Friulmodel tracks, the wire that they supply is .020 and very soft, I have bought .018 steel wire from McMaster Carr that seams to work much better, I checked a standard staple and they are .017 by .019, going to give them a try on my next project.

    So sorry to hear that you had a flood, but hopefully it will not affect your business too much. Many thanks for your latest video, you did a great job on the Panther, but those tracks were way beyond my budget, although they do look really great. It will have to be plastic tracks that come with the kits for me to afford. Great video and as always great painting and weathering.

    Great job!! This late G model Panther was very limited which came out with steel road wheels. Other models use rubber bondages on the wheels. Same you can see on the late Tiger 1 tank models as well. All Tiger 2 or Kingtigers are came out with steel road wheels because of the weight. This was for economy of the rubber but affects on a tracks life.

  • @ssgtslick

    NOT a comment on you: Tamiya did the gun mantle wrong. Most "G" model Panthers had a solid block at the bottom, as the pure curve in earlier versions tended to deflect incoming fire into the hull.

    • @animenut69
      @animenut69 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      believe that mantle is included in the kit. When I did the tamiya jagdpanther that mantle was an extra on one of the sprue trees. He may of just put on whatever mantle for this quick build.

    • @MrDlwall
      @MrDlwall 7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      The Tamiya Panther kit is correct based on the Panther chassis number 121052, which had all steel wheels but an early type A/G gun mantle without the reinforced lower front. Have a look at "Panther & its variants" by Walter J Spielberger to see photos of the original tank. Possible indicates that the turret was a recycled damaged early type G used for this project.

    • @Lo-tf6qt
      @Lo-tf6qt 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ssgtslick this is a Panther A if I am not mistaken , it is strange that Tamiya would make such a mistake
