Greatly appreciate this. Plasticity has been a joy but the matcaps have been a sore spot. Glad to know they can be altered readily.

Thanks a lot, coach, just copied the matcaps from your course. It's much more comfortable now.

I just export to OBJ and then pull it into 3D coat for painting and they come out awesome. I use pixel painting. Totally bypass that goat rope of a material system in Plasticity. I rather just use it for hard surface and use other things for texturing and painting. I even pulled it into Blender and used PBRs and it looks awesome also.

Hello there. How did you made that sphere with... spheres? I'm having trouble projecting curves and shapes into sphere-like surfaces. EDIT: Worth a video, maybe?

You talked about replacing the existing ones.. can't you just add to this collection?

Nice, exactly what I was looking for. The materials are probably the only downside to the app

is this interchangeble into 3DS max? or after export into 3ds max is a need to retopology?

If you want good topology, then yes. The exporter is much better on plasticity compared to some other cad software i've tried, you can actually see and tweak the polys before exporting. With 3ds max retopology its pretty quick. I've only tried it once though. Dont remember the exact workflow, but i think arrimus showed it a couple times in some of his videos.
It was something like: export obj (a lot of polys to capture the curvature) -> subdivide (variable curvature) -> retopo (ReForm)
Again i've only tried it on one mesh which had sharp, smooth edges and large curves and that seemed to work really well, actually workable mesh which could easily be turned into high poly with open subdiv for example. Was really happy with the results considering i've tried doing the same with a lot of the other cad models and they had massive artifacting.
