Miyako is the guitarist primarily on the right side (with the dark hair) and Midori is the guitarist on the left side (with the lighter hair). Any songs/performances 2021 or earlier will have Miho on the bass, and all performances starting in 2022 will have Fami on the bass.
Welcome to LOVEBITES 🤘🏼🐺🔥 Here some information about the band: LOVEBITES are around since 2016 and their first EP and album came out in 2017. At this point they have already released 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of live DVD/Blu-ray releases. Back in 2018/2019 LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe, including appearances at the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. In 2018 they also won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band. Then came covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After a break LOVEBITES came back with new bassist Fami and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. A new album with the same title came out in February 2023. Lead singer Asami has joined Lzzy and Halestorm , at Download 2019, to perform that song. Miyako and Midori (blond pony tail) are IMO 2 of the best guitarists today. Haruna is a beast on drums. Here you see new bassist Fami, she joined in Oct 2022. Original bassist , and band co-founder, Miho, left in 2021. Formed in 2016, they have 4 full albums , and 60+ songs , to date. Holy War is from the 3rd album, Electric Pentagram from 2020, singular, the Megadeth song is plural. Midori plays ESP, Miyako is playing Gibson here, but plays Dean often. The piano you mentioned, is not for show. Miyako is a classically trained pianist, concert level ability, a pianist first, picked up guitar at a much later age. All are between 4'9" and 5'2". They consider themselves heavy metal. Some songs lean towards power metal. some towards thrash, and some ballads. Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Judas Priest, and Helloween are some of their influences. This Knockin' At Heaven's Gate concert was their first in 2 years (hiatus due to world shutdown and search for new bassist), in spring 2023, Fami's live debut on bass. She fits right in. To see Miyako's piano ability, try Swan Song at the Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020 concert. It was played here in 2023, but the Chopin piano intro is not included in the posted video. Miyako is playing is a Gibson Futura. from a 1957 concept design witch became the Explorer in 1958. Miyako is a Gibson collector. Also has a collection of Dean guitars plus her piano. .MIYAKO AND MIDORI must be in the top league of metal guitarist in the world i think.
A little correction. The name of the band comes from the song "Love Bites (So Do I)" by Halestorm, which they performed during one rehearsal and felt that it suited the vocalist Asami's voice.
Now you tipped your toe... oh boy. "Best New Band: Lovebites." - Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards 2018. Japanese metal is a rabbit hole that will surprise you. I'd say the best metal today comes from Japan. Lovebites is one of the biggest ones but I'd add at least Nemophila and Hanabie. This song was from Lovebites power metal side, but they also do trash metal. I'd continue with Hammer of Wrath Official Live Video from Knockin' At Heaven's Gate, which happens to be my favorite from Lovebites. For next new band I'd recommend Nemophila - Revive. That's one step heavier than this.
About their outfits. When they were touring Europe as the opening band for Dragonforce, a French metal magazine interviewed Asami (singing) about that and her response was, "We're girls, we don't want to dress like boys. Also, we are all small and the white and gold makes it easier to see us on stage." And they ARE small! Haruna (drums) is only 4' 9" and the tallest members, Fami (bass) and Miyako (Gibson guitar) are 5' 2". They don't have a bad song and there are over 50 of them. Miyako has been studying classical piano since she was 3 and taught herself how to play the guitar in high school. Look for the song, Swan Song, but make sure it has the Chopin into to hear her playing on the piano. And an interesting little fact about her, she like to go fishing on her down time. Asami had not listened to heavy metal before joining Lovebites, she is an R&B signer, even studied in the US for a couple years. She also studied Ballet and you can see that in her movements on stage. Band Maids drummer, Akane Hirose, didn't know girls were allowed to play rock drums until she saw Nao from MTH play. And now she is one of Jimmy Page's favorite drummers. Unlucky Morpheus - CADAVER/REVADAC They play the sing CADAVER, then they play it backward note for note, REVADAC. Btw, they have a heavy metal violinist who also does Van Halen and Steve Vai covers. And if you want to take a trip to India, yes, India has metal bands. Check out the folk metal band Bloodywood and their song Aaj(today) Don't worry, they sing in Hindi and English.

I'm sure others would have already pointed this out, but just in case they haven't ... 1.) LOVEBITES are named after the Halestorm song "Love Bites (and So Do I)" 2.) This song is called "Holy War", while the Megadeth song is called "Holy Wars" 3.) They have only done about three covers in total - all their songs on their albums are originals.

I couldn't believe that this talented & phenomenal once in a lifetime band will surpass all the admiration I had for those former monsters of rock that I considered my heroes and I followed for so many years. LOVEBITES sits at the very top of the all female Japanese heavy metal bands. For me they sit at the very top of all power metal bands that have ever existed too (male or female) because they are so much more than just a power metal band. They have several thrash metal songs in their repertoire too - that have a Slayer or Metallica vibe and sometimes blend that style into their power metal songs, making them sound heavier than most power metal bands.

Not JUDAS PRIEST, DEF LEPPARD, etc. LOVEBITES was on friendly terms with HALESTORM and performed as an opening act for HALESTORM. 'Holy Wars…The Punishment Due' - song MEGADETH 'Holy War' - song of LOVEBITES. LOVEBITES is not a cover band. The ladies have composed and released 58 original songs and musical compositions.
I didn't think they were a cover band, only that they did covers. I am not at all familiar with Halestorm so there is no way I could know they have a song with (almost) the same title. JP's Love Bites predates all the rest and as a Priest fan, I made an assumption. And yes, one consonant difference between Megadeth and LOVEBITES 😁. Every time I start a new rabbit hole, I make many mistakes and then here, with the fans of the band helping me through I become fully armed for the second one. 0:26 in, two corrections: LOVEBITES is named after "Love Bites (So Do I)" by Halestorm, although their music is pretty close to bands like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, etc. Second, they have 3 covers, they could probably cover anything, but they write all their stuff by themselves. They now have 4 full albums and 3 EPs (more is in the works) from 2017 to 2023 with 55 own songs and some instrumentals. All of them are worth mentioning, there's not a single song, that is not fantastic! BTW: Thanks, that you wrote "Holy War" in the title, this is also not a cover of "Holy Wars" (Megadeth)!

this band has no peer! they do not know how to write bad, stale or mediocre songs. and their performances are already legendary. you won´t find a band, which can bring so much joy, fun, energy, power and talent to the stage than these ladies. stick with them, it´s totally worth it. and be aware, that the wolfpack will invade your channel. my suggestion for the next one : "we the united" live tokyo 2023 from their official channel.

Agree, re: Japanese guitars. Of my five electrics, only one (a nice Les Paul Standard) is NOT Japanese: ESP, Infinite, G-Life, and Kino Factory. All simply world class. And speaking of world class...Lovebites are one of the very best metal bands in the world. And they're far from alone in that accolade in the J-metal scene. Nemophila, Unlucky Morpheus, Galneryus, Hanabie., Ningen Isu, Asterism, Crystal Lake...and I'm just scratching the surface (and leaving out hard rock...).
Miyako and Midori on guitar are polar opposites in many ways. Maybe why they go together as well? Miyako is a true nerd in many sense. Likes building up a sound literally. She has built a guitar. Her main guitar for years has been the Dean Icon, which she had to tweak with new PUs. Which isnt her only Dean: the ML and her own Dean Signature V. During the your we will also see this rare Gibson Futura, a Les Paul, Fender telecaster and a strat. The pedal board and amps are put together carefully. Midori is quite different, doing well with her ESP Horizon and Kemper pedal board.

Lovebites has a deep and varied catalog of original material - everything from Testament/Slayer-esq thrash, through Dragon Force power metal, and just straightup Judas Priest/Iron Maiden heavy metal. If you more a thrash guy check out hammer of wrath(heavens gate version) or break the wall were the last one is a combination of slayer and gary moore. also the original bassist who started the band her idol was Steve Harris of Your Shirt's Iron Maiden her cofounder Drummer Haruna is a huge Helloween fan. Guitarist Midori has influences of Yngwie Malmsteen and Nuno Bettencourt and Miyako takes influences of not only classic pianists (She also is classically trained on piano) but on guitar Gary Moore and Ritchie Blackmore. Asami was an R&B singer but she reminds me of the female version of Bruce Dickinson with her operatic style of singing. ]:)
I'm not really into the Japanese music scene, it's not my style but Lovebites is hands down the best metal band I've heard in a real long time and I don't think anyone will surpass them anytime soon. Band-Maid is pretty f'ing awesome too for a hard rock band.

Musically, the LOVEBITES cover of "Painkiller" is better than the original, although to be fair, this is probably mostly due to the superior sound equipment available these days. But in terms of musicianship, Miyako and Midori are at least as good (and probably better) than Tipton and Downing.

Here some information about the band:
LOVEBITES are around since 2016 and their first EP and album came out in 2017. At this point they have already released 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of live DVD/Blu-ray releases.
Back in 2018/2019 LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe, including appearances at the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. In 2018 they also won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
Then came covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After a break LOVEBITES came back with new bassist Fami and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. A new album with the same title came out in February 2023. It debuted on #4 at iTunes album charts worldwide and #1 at metal charts in 8 countries.
Recently their album „Judgement Day“ was voted #15 in best metal albums of the year 2023 by readers of Metal Hammer UK. Also „Stand and deliver“ was voted on #15 for best metal song of the year. What are fantastic results for a still relatively unknown and foreign band.
LOVEBITES finished touring Japan last October. They will be on a WORLD TOUR this year. First dates are already announced for this summer. They will appear at several festivals. For example they will play on main stage at Hellfest/France, one of the biggest metal festivals in Europe (with 60k tickets sold). These two videos are performed with the former bassist/the band founder Miho who left the band in Aug. 2021 for her personal reasons, and she is playing with another band now. Welcome to the Wolfpack. They are named after a song, but it's not Judas Priest. Named after the Grammy winning song Love Bites (So Do I) by Halestorm. Lead singer Asami has joined Lzzy and Halestorm , at Download 2019, to perform that song. Miyako and Midori (blond pony tail) are IMO 2 of the best guitarists today. Haruna is a beast on drums. Here you see new bassist Fami, she joined in Oct 2022. Original bassist , and band co-founder, Miho, left in 2021.
Formed in 2016, they have 4 full albums , and 60+ songs , to date. Holy War is from the 3rd album, Electric Pentagram from 2020, singular, the Megadeth song is plural. Midori plays ESP, Miyako is playing Gibson here, but plays Dean often. The piano you mentioned, is not for show. Miyako is a classically trained pianist, concert level ability, a pianist first, picked up guitar at a much later age. All are between 4'9" and 5'2". They consider themselves heavy metal. Some songs lean towards power metal. some towards thrash, and some ballads. Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Judas Priest, and Helloween are some of their influences.
This Knockin' At Heaven's Gate concert was their first in 2 years (hiatus due to world shutdown and search for new bassist), in spring 2023, Fami's live debut on bass. She fits right in.
To see Miyako's piano ability, try Swan Song at the Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020 concert. It was played here in 2023, but the Chopin piano intro is not included in the posted video. Miyako is playing is a Gibson Futura. from a 1957 concept design witch became the Explorer in 1958. Miyako is a Gibson collector. Also has a collection of Dean guitars plus her piano. .MIYAKO AND MIDORI must be in the top league of metal guitarist in the world i think.
A little correction. The name of the band comes from the song "Love Bites (So Do I)" by Halestorm, which they performed during one rehearsal and felt that it suited the vocalist Asami's voice.

Now you tipped your toe... oh boy. "Best New Band: Lovebites." - Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards 2018. Japanese metal is a rabbit hole that will surprise you. I'd say the best metal today comes from Japan. Lovebites is one of the biggest ones but I'd add at least Nemophila and Hanabie. This song was from Lovebites power metal side, but they also do trash metal. I'd continue with Hammer of Wrath Official Live Video from Knockin' At Heaven's Gate, which happens to be my favorite from Lovebites. For next new band I'd recommend Nemophila - Revive. That's one step heavier than this.
About their outfits. When they were touring Europe as the opening band for Dragonforce, a French metal magazine interviewed Asami (singing) about that and her response was, "We're girls, we don't want to dress like boys. Also, we are all small and the white and gold makes it easier to see us on stage." And they ARE small! Haruna (drums) is only 4' 9" and the tallest members, Fami (bass) and Miyako (Gibson guitar) are 5' 2".

On their song, Break The Wall, they sound like Slayer. They don't have a bad song and there are over 50 of them.
Miyako has been studying classical piano since she was 3 and taught herself how to play the guitar in high school. Look for the song, Swan Song, but make sure it has the Chopin into to hear her playing on the piano. And an interesting little fact about her, she like to go fishing on her down time.
Asami had not listened to heavy metal before joining Lovebites, she is an R&B signer, even studied in the US for a couple years. She also studied Ballet and you can see that in her movements on stage.

Midori (blond guitarist) started going to the gym during covid and fell in love with it and now competes in amateur bodybuilding/fitness competition in Japan.

Hanabie (ha-na-be-eh) - We Love sweets You haven't lived until you have young Japanese ladies scream at you about how much they love pastries.
MAXIMUM THE HORMONE - Yoshu Fukushu They are VERY influential in Japan. Hanabie started as a MTH cover band in high school. They are called the System Of A Down of Japan. But that is an unfair comparison, for S.O.A.D. Their music is pure chaos, multiple time, key and even genre changes in the same song. Just sit down, buckle up and enjoy the ride.
Band Maid - Real Existence These ladies are more Hard Rock than metal but they are amazing. Band Maids drummer, Akane Hirose, didn't know girls were allowed to play rock drums until she saw Nao from MTH play. And now she is one of Jimmy Page's favorite drummers.
Unlucky Morpheus - CADAVER/REVADAC They play the sing CADAVER, then they play it backward note for note, REVADAC. Btw, they have a heavy metal violinist who also does Van Halen and Steve Vai covers.
And if you want to take a trip to India, yes, India has metal bands. Check out the folk metal band Bloodywood and their song Aaj(today) Don't worry, they sing in Hindi and English.

In 2020, their career was abruptly interrupted by Corona. But they masterfully overcame the crisis, got married and had babies. In 2021 the founder Miho left the band for personal reasons and it went into a hiatus which lasted until the end of 2022. In the fall of 2022 they found a young fantastic bass player and in 2023 they released a new LP. The new LP reached the 5th place in the Japanese charts. Japan is the 2nd largest music market in the world and it is very rare that in these times a rock band comes so far forward.

LOVEBITES. They are listened not only by metalheads. Ladies came out of their metal genre and have wider spectrum of fans.
They play ECLECTIC METAL. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM, heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, progressive pieces and even punk. I couldn't believe that this talented & phenomenal once in a lifetime band will surpass all the admiration I had for those former monsters of rock that I considered my heroes and I followed for so many years. But now I find peace and contentment to finally found LOVEBITES and the search is over because I can now rest in peace knowing & witnessing the Greatest Band in my lifetime. LOVEBITES sits at the very top of the all female Japanese heavy metal bands. For me they sit at the very top of all power metal bands that have ever existed too (male or female) because they are so much more than just a power metal band. They have several thrash metal songs in their repertoire too - that have a Slayer or Metallica vibe and sometimes blend that style into their power metal songs, making them sound heavier than most power metal bands.

No, never heard of them until I discovered BABYMETAL. That opened the door on Japanese metal. Before BABYMETAL, the only band from Japan I knew of was Loudness.

I didn't think they were a cover band, only that they did covers. I am not at all familiar with Halestorm so there is no way I could know they have a song with (almost) the same title. JP's Love Bites predates all the rest and as a Priest fan, I made an assumption. And yes, one consonant difference between Megadeth and LOVEBITES 😁. Every time I start a new rabbit hole, I make many mistakes and then here, with the fans of the band helping me through I become fully armed for the second one. 0:26 in, two corrections: LOVEBITES is named after "Love Bites (So Do I)" by Halestorm, although their music is pretty close to bands like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, etc. Second, they have 3 covers, they could probably cover anything, but they write all their stuff by themselves. They now have 4 full albums and 3 EPs (more is in the works) from 2017 to 2023 with 55 own songs and some instrumentals. All of them are worth mentioning, there's not a single song, that is not fantastic! BTW: Thanks, that you wrote "Holy War" in the title, this is also not a cover of "Holy Wars" (Megadeth)!

Funny, I wanted to react to Painkiller first, but I saw Holy War and just being 'reactionary' I clicked on it and ran. this band has no peer! they do not know how to write bad, stale or mediocre songs. and their performances are already legendary. you won´t find a band, which can bring so much joy, fun, energy, power and talent to the stage than these ladies. stick with them, it´s totally worth it. and be aware, that the wolfpack will invade your channel. my suggestion for the next one : "we the united" live tokyo 2023 from their official channel.

Well technically there is one more: "Ballade No.1 In G minor, Op.23" by Miyako, and it's on Lovebites Knockin’ At Heaven’s Gate DVD. It's my personal favorite just because I will bet my life that is an experience that you do not get with any other metal band. Only Lovebites is able to deliver that.

I see you have an Iron Maiden shirt on. The lead singer has been described as a female Bruce Dickinson. I think that is mostly due to the amount of vibrato in her voice.

Agree, re: Japanese guitars. Of my five electrics, only one (a nice Les Paul Standard) is NOT Japanese: ESP, Infinite, G-Life, and Kino Factory. All simply world class.
And speaking of world class...Lovebites are one of the very best metal bands in the world. And they're far from alone in that accolade in the J-metal scene. Nemophila, Unlucky Morpheus, Galneryus, Hanabie., Ningen Isu, Asterism, Crystal Lake...and I'm just scratching the surface (and leaving out hard rock...).
Miyako and Midori on guitar are polar opposites in many ways. Maybe why they go together as well? Miyako is a true nerd in many sense. Likes building up a sound literally. She has built a guitar. Her main guitar for years has been the Dean Icon, which she had to tweak with new PUs. Which isnt her only Dean: the ML and her own Dean Signature V. During the your we will also see this rare Gibson Futura, a Les Paul, Fender telecaster and a strat. The pedal board and amps are put together carefully.
Midori is quite different, doing well with her ESP Horizon and Kemper pedal board.

@@BemusingBillMidori is an extrovert while Miyako is an introvert. Midori makes guitar faces and tries to get the crowd going. Miyako will remain cool and focused and rarely show any emotion. It doesn't mean she is bored or disinterested.

Lovebites has a deep and varied catalog of original material - everything from Testament/Slayer-esq thrash, through Dragon Force power metal, and just straightup Judas Priest/Iron Maiden heavy metal. They have some exceptional symphonic/progressive metal tracks also! So much to discover! 🤘🎸🐺

also the original bassist who started the band her idol was Steve Harris of Your Shirt's Iron Maiden her cofounder Drummer Haruna is a huge Helloween fan. Guitarist Midori has influences of Yngwie Malmsteen and Nuno Bettencourt and Miyako takes influences of not only classic pianists (She also is classically trained on piano) but on guitar Gary Moore and Ritchie Blackmore. Asami was an R&B singer but she reminds me of the female version of Bruce Dickinson with her operatic style of singing. ]:)
I'm not really into the Japanese music scene, it's not my style but Lovebites is hands down the best metal band I've heard in a real long time and I don't think anyone will surpass them anytime soon. Band-Maid is pretty f'ing awesome too for a hard rock band.

Just FYI Bill. Lovebites named after Halstorm's song Love Bites (And so Do I), not the Judas Priest or Def Leppard song. This is an original song. Megadeth's song is Holy WarS (the Punishment Due). Most of Lovebites songs are originals with just a few cover songs. I love when people come in with preconceived notions, only to have them shattered. "they don't look metal" lmao.

Musically, the LOVEBITES cover of "Painkiller" is better than the original, although to be fair, this is probably mostly due to the superior sound equipment available these days. But in terms of musicianship, Miyako and Midori are at least as good (and probably better) than Tipton and Downing.

Wow....just fell into the J/Metal rabbithole, well my friend it is deep and endless. Best band to come along in years and the talent is insane in this group. Check out Hammer of Wrath or Set the World on Fire then pivot to Swan Song with Chopin piano intro or Frozen Serenade for acoustic guitar and ballet!!! Petite women who wear their femininity proudly but turn into metal goddesses on stage in gowns and heels. Here are a few other bands for your review:

@@BemusingBill Great I go back to Show-Ya in the late 80's and have been in the J/Metal scene since. Destrose is another great band from which many of the great bands have spawned (Lovebites, Mary's Blood, Fate Gear, etc..).

I own a 1968 Kawai teardrop V2 guitar with original pickups and hardware and it still sounds great! My 81 Destroyer II handmade by master luthiers in Japan better than any Explorer I've ever played. 🤘❤️🤘

(not us lol ) i am a blues player so most of my collection is various Tele's and Strat style guitars out of the Strats my favorite is my Yamaha Pacifica humbucker /P--90 in bridge and I absolutely love my Revstar , kind of wish i would have gotten the duel P-90 version but I have the duel humbucker one .I will always love Les Paul's though even though it is a crap shoot to find that magical sounding one. explorers are my favorite looking guitars i have just neve had the cash to spend on a real one . I would have to go Gibson with it if i ever do even though the Japanese one would possibly outclass it
