  • 2023 Chevy SUBURBAN Z71. Offroad machine or Costco crawler?
HDMI ports and a standard plug for middle passengers.
Several levers for seat adjustments, one for moving the seat forward and backward.
Easy access to the back, with features allowing for easy seat folding and unfolding. Spacious third row with ample legroom, especially for larger adults. Ample cargo space, 144.7 cubic feet with seats down and 41.5 cubic feet with seats up.
Additional storage space for miscellaneous items.
Independent rear suspension, a first for the Suburban.
    Engine and Performance:
    Options include a 5.3 liter V8, a larger 6.2 V8, and a 3.0 Duramax Diesel. Interestingly, the Z71 trim doesn't have the three-liter Duramax option.
The 5.3 motor has a good performance, backed by a ten-speed transmission.
    Price and Competition:
The vehicle with the Z71 package starts at $69,000.
The main competitor is the Ford Expedition Max.
The Expedition is more similar to the Tahoe, so one would need the Max version for a similar room as in the Suburban.
    Specs:
    MSRP: $67,300
    MPG: 15 City / 19 highway
    Horsepower: 355 hp @ 5,600 rpm
    Towing capacity: 7,600 lbs
    Engine: 5.3 L V8
    Curb weight: 5,824 lbs
    Torque: 383 lb-ft @ 4,100 rpm
Mohawk Auto: located in Boise Idaho.

I can buy two Hyundai Santa Fe’s for one Suburban. GM and Ford needs to figure out how to lower there prices.

True, but I wouldn’t count the Santa Fe as being anything close to the Suburban as far as overall capability.

Actually, there is another competitor besides the Expedition Max that comes from Jeep: the Wagoneer L. It doesn't have as much total cargo space as the Suburban, but it has more total cargo space than the Expedition Max.

Perfect for an obese couple with obese children, living in a place without roads, it is nice to see that some automakers are so inclusive. And I guess you need at least two in the family, if mum has to go to work while dad needs to go to the fast food. It will probably be fine with a 20 years loan. For everybody else, just a waste of resources, energy, and money. Honestly, in 2023 you can have a Tesla model 3 for half the price, not to mention fuel, maintenance and repairs. The more SUVs and "family trucks", the more doomed are the USA. Our children will hate us for so much selfishness.

    • @MOHAWKAUTO
      @MOHAWKAUTO  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

Aren’t you a ray of sunshine? Look, I get it if you don’t like the vehicle and if it’s not a fit for you (or a fit for a lot of people honestly). This is a simply a review to help people who it may be a good fit for. By the way, comfort is for everyone and not just for whatever your definition of obese is. Teslas are great, but you might as well have compared a Honda Civic to the Suburban. It’s a terrible comparison.

@@MOHAWKAUTO My comment was not against your review, not even this specific vehicle, but about huge useless SUVs and trucks that make people slaves of their car. But if some people are happy with that, I don't really care, I am sure it makes some shareholders happy (automakers, dealers, banks, big oil). And yes I could have compared to a Honda Civic, but I did not because buying an ICE car in 2023 seems so mad. But again, I guess if you hate your children and want them the hell of a future, why not ?

IDK man, I own an older Suburban and it offers me amazing flexibility. Taking the whole family somewhere? I've got plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable, and ample extra seating for a couple guests. Going diving? Remove the third row and I've got space for four divers plus gear, including drysuits and two tanks each. Gotta haul stuff? Fold the second row and I can fit 4x8 sheets of plywood in the back comfortably. Snowy? I've got 4 wheel drive, which is great for getting home in my hilly city. Find me another vehicle that offers all of those options.
