  • As you know, we've been kayaking and hiking at Weedon Island Preserve for over a decade. And we've been inside the centers a few times but never went deep into their history center and exhibit.
It started by us signing up for an archeology seminar 'The Archaeology of Weedon Island' held by archaeologist Rachael Kangas, MA, RPA.
This was a more than interesting chat and we learned so much about the history of one of our favorite places.
After the event, we explored the exhibits in the Weedon Island Preserve Culture and Natural History Center. Really cool place and of course, we'll be back (we're actually coming back here in a couple of weeks to kayak, so stay tuned for that on TH-cam!).
We hope you enjoyed our video. This is an awesome place to visit if you're in the Tampa/St Pete, FL area. Here's a link to the Weedon Island Preserve website for more info:

One of our very first road trips/staycation was Lovers Key. We just stayed one night at The Lovers Key Resort. It was really nice there.
