    Back then,you didn’t just move out 700 families. Usually,they were forced out. Being that this lake was built in the 1950s,I’m wondering if anyone from the old town is still living. I’d like to hear from someone of that time tell what it was like living on that land before the lake was constructed.
    Anyway,good video. Very interesting. 🙂

    Lake Lanier something I never see people say when speaking on the history , is that there was a Black Town on that land and the graves we're never relocated just flooded over with the town. Why do you think so many have died over the year's on that lake . Even the artist Usher stepson died on that lake with many others. People even say while swimming it feels like someone is pulling you down.

      This is an incredibly ignorant and racist statement. If you actually knew the history of how this lake was formed, why it was formed, the people who lived there, the bureaucracy and politics, and the compensation AND resettlement residents were afforded, you wouldn’t have made such an ignorant and race baiting statement. There actually was a purpose and logic behind lake Lanier. Oh, and guess what...it had nothing to do with race! The race card is played out, quit playing victim. Excuses are like assholes, everyone has one, however some people tend to sit on the pot far more often than others. I’m not going to get into all of the facts (because my name isn’t “Wikipedia”) and will allow you to do your own research if you’re capable of google searching and doing diligent research on anything other than “white people are racist.” I will end by giving one fact just because I feel it necessary...Lake Lanier saved far more peoples homes and property (black and white) than those who were resettled on the tax payers dime...imagine that, the TAXPAYERS dime...
      Lesson to all your children, do not click on the comment or reply button unless you have the facts and intellect to make a statement. Otherwise you end up looking just as ignorant as you are.

    • @P_Wigs
      @P_Wigs 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Tina Marie Ziolkowski this is fake, racist news. Don’t buy into it. Nor should anyone else who reads “ya mammy” (how intellectual) comments. What a shame s9meone like her can comment like this with no actual knowledge of the facts.
