This sun-drenched city truly has something for everyone-from seaview luxury hotels and world-class art museums to bustling farmer’s markets and burly seafood shacks on the boardwalk. There’s also a lot of things to do in St. Petersburg, FL, for nature lovers. For example, you can head over to the Weedon Island Nature Preserve. There are over 3,000 acres of ocean and land ecosystems to explore on foot or by boat. Birdwatchers will be particularly enthralled by the number of avian species on view. Families can picnic or even fish together.
The Sunken Gardens are also just a hop, skip, and jump from downtown St. Pete. This 4-acre property was crafted by gardener and botanist George Turner Sr. way back in the early 1900s. He drained a small lake to create the gardens you see today, giving them their “sunken” namesake. We particularly recommend paying a visit to the Japanese garden, orchid arbor, and the Wishing Well. Into baseball? Head to the Tropicana Field to watch a game and feed, pet, and… interact with an entire aquarium’s worth of cow-nose stingrays! Or, if theater sports are more your thing, book a seat or three at The Mahaffey Theater. There’s everything from the kid-friendly Clifford the Big Red Dog musical to the always sell-out Shut Up and Laugh comedy series. St Petersburg is a terrible place to go. The only good thing here is the Dali museum. Every thing else is drink , eat, drink, eat somemore and hot and humid... old people village !! and they thing every one wants to establish a conversation with them. Every apartment here smells like old. Go to the luxury hotels, is much better. any way... I will never come back !!!
