I use Cubase but just recreated your drum groove in my DAW. I am really impressed. I just laid down a track of Boys of Summer at 118 bpm and modified the midi groove a bit and added congas, shaker, and tamborine. Not the normal drum groove for a song like this but it works. If you have any other great tips on other drum grooves that can be manipulated in this way, please share them with us. I shouldn't be surprised but I am, to see the bpm have such an effect on the music style. I am not a drummer, a guitarist, so this is really helpful to me in getting results fast.
