You're the most prolific/successful m/kb pilot on star citizen. Could you make a video about how you set up your controls for the rest of us wanna-be's? Thanks man. Frustrated with my ability to control my ship effectively atm. and, its not for lack of flight time.
Hey malogos is it just me or are gimbals atm only viable on the sabre or the sh. the hardpoints of smaller ships only offer s1 gimbals with another s2 weapon (gladius) or maybe an s3 (avenger). Even though i suck with fixed weapons iam thinking about going away from gimbal weapons since later in the pu i wont have access to a sh or a sabre from the get go.
You're right -- the DPS gap between weapon sizes is too extreme, and that makes S1s pretty much useless. Compare the Badger (starcitizendb.com/components/weapons/KLWE_LaserRepeater_S2) to the Panther (starcitizendb.com/components/weapons/KLWE_LaserRepeater_S3), for example.
Malagos, I was wondering how you feel about the ship speeds proposed for 2.6, and the slowing down (almost half speed!) of combat. Is it a good or bad idea from your point of view?
The speeds are halved, but the accelerations are higher. This means closer dogfights and more control over your ship. I think those are positive changes. The issue that I continue to have is Cruise mode (being able to run from anything, recharge shields, evade missiles, etc), but we have heard that there will be some kind of restriction on it.
Intreasting point, I didn't think of it like that. My immediate reaction was hate, I have my bias, I've gotten so used to the current flight model that any deviation from it is bad. Others have told me the change has lowered the skill bar, which is upsetting to me; your perspective however gives me hope for 2.6.
It's going to be a balance, and they clearly aren't done with tuning... all else being the same, slower max speeds and higher acceleration would make dogfighting closer and flying around obstacles better, but they also make things easy to hit and the approaches feel pretty slow. We'll see how it goes.
They should decrease the aceleration, not the top speed. If the acceleration is slower, there would be less jousting but if you focus on building speed you could still get away from an ambush. If the will increase acceleration and reduce the top speed we will dogfight constantly at our ship's max speed, let's wait and see.
Jousting is caused by: 1. Inexperience (new players don't know any better than to point there ship at the enemy and go forward) 2. Lack of strafing acceleration
EVE comms made me smile. Nice flying dude.
Got the entire Samurai Champloo soundtrack I see.
Good aiming skills there, congratz. Do you use dual joysticks?

Maybe for 2.6.
what song?

Nice flying, but the sound balance is pretty annoying the way the music is too loud for the game but gets suppressed whenever someone talks.
