I'm not happy that we can't play Xbox games offline. My fibre was down for a week and the Xbox was a brick. I could not play games offline

@coffee7180 No it really is just exclusive to Xbox. Playstation can easily play games offline I mean most of ps games are meant to be single player games and pc if you have a game downloaded same with that. Xbox is just money hungry and people don't see that all because ✨️Gamepass✨️
Assigning it as your home Xbox at least allows you to play any games you've bought for your account, not sure about Game Pass games.

The outage was caused by one of the bigger cyber security providers for windows f'ed up not just Xbox went down pretty much every major office and airport computer went down.

Remember when they tried to double the price of the yearly membership, when they tricked so many people into trying game pass and then paying more than that amount if used for a whole year, when they raised that game pass price, but most of all remember when Microsoft lost out on millions of dollars because people tried out Halo Infinite on game pass and realized that it was flaming garbage and decided to not buy it.....that was truly priceless, now multiply that by a shit ton more games that nobody bought and you have a serious reduction in game profits across the board. A good "Way to go DumbAssses" fo sho!
Not to mention Microsoft in the shareholder call last year said that Game Pass sales had stalled, then they stopped reporting numbers (which is a tactic they do every time the numbers look really bad), then they changed XBOX Live Gold to Game Pass Core and pretended they got more sales. The price was definitely going up when people weren't buying Game Pass at the rate Microsoft wanted, even with PC added to the numbers.
im a huge xbox fan but man is microsoft really pushin it with the price raise on EVERY tier of gamepass its bull cause i dont even use the games and only buy it cause i want to play online and thats my problem they are forcing you buy gamepass to play online that isnt fair.

The only way prices stay low in anything is by having multiple multiple options, force companies to compete for your dollar.
Has competition stopped netflix from putting ads on everything and charging extra if you dont want them when netflix was king for years and years solely because they didnt have ads. Its subscription services as a whole that have to get the flip out

💯 They've been gas lighting us for a few years. Buying sprees and then making us pay for it. And yet no games that truly are worth paying to get day 1 access. Always the promise.
I only see positives from the FTC filing. I don't see it splitting up the acquisition but it could make Microsoft either lower the price of Gamepass or add some content again.. which would be a win for consumers.
Regulation agencies like the FTC are the only folks out there trying to protect consumers by preventing monopolies, protecting employees, and opposing ridiculous price gouging. We might not like some of their activities, but they need our support at the ballot box. They won’t fight against partnerships, but they will fight against the formation of monopolies.
Many of Xbox users have had their consoles banned for no valid reason and ended up with an unsuccessful appeal for reinstatement. Even a user claim that his Xbox account was banned due to inactivity because he was busy with military duties. It's obvious that Microsoft is having real troublesome issues. Despite Xbox being the more powerful system, I'm glad I went with the PS5 this generation.
They showed their true intentions with the Xbox One. So why should anyone buy their stuff?!

I'm with the FTC on the standard tier being a downgrade. Force bundling Live multi-player does not make up for the loss of day one games.
I would not pay for online multi-player as a standalone service. I've had my Series S since a few weeks after launch, and have only played online for a couple hours total.

Can anyone please tell me why I just got a price hike to $19.99 for my ultimate account here in the Philippines but still can't cloud game? What does it take to cloud game here in the Philippines? Only serious informative and knowledgeable folks need reply.
Sad but PH is one of the many regions that are not yet supported for cloud gaming
Also I'm unsure how fast Internet is for the Philippines but in my experience you'll need atleast 50 mbs consistent or higher, I had 35mbs and it would lag and wouldn't update frames fast it was unbearable then I moved to the city and now I got 1gbs and it's no different than downloading the game, so keep that in mind. But likely y'all's infrastructure isn't good enough or it's hard to stream stuff to your country without horrid lag so they're likely saving you from what I just explained. It'll likely take them building a server center in the Philippines so id look into that and keep tabs on if that's happening if I were you
Xbox/Microsoft has no designated server in PH for cloud gaming to operate.
@QuantumChrist How difficult would it be to put one here in the Philippines. There is plenty of inexpensive IT labor here Microsoft certified and also an Xbox Philippines group. Are they just cheapskate or is it political? I may switch to PC since console is looking more and more like a money grab.

I don’t play call of duty and once this price increase goes into effect I will be canceling. I’ve been paying for it since inception. 20 bucks a month is a bridge too far. I was already on the fence about the current rate.
I think Microsoft should have waited until next year to increase the price. Wait until they drop this years new CoD on it as well as the older ones on there. It'd probably go over better that way.
Xbox Plan:
1. Kill Console
2. Sell cheap Subscription service
3. Spoil people with games in subscription (lose money now to gain subscribers)
4. Buy game studios and company and put in day one released in subscription
5. Now people are subscribing, raise the price and lower the value
6. Play a victim card by saying Xbox can't fund it's service anymore
And the main plan of Microsoft:
-Spoil consumers with so called benefits of Subscriptions service by never owning console.
-And then gradually leaving the console market.
-Force people to play games Only digital and always online
- Never own games
-Lastly;;;; Manipulate the market and and price by Subscription services.

Game Pass is XBOX’s pony but that pony isn’t as good as everyone thinks it is.
MS is using catch 22 as the excuse to not support XBOX globally. Another sign they don't give af about XB. They should sell the whole console division to a more competent company who might want to join the console market, maybe in the form of a handheld or something. Eff MS.
I have a Series X for like 2 years now. WITHOUT game pass. I bought every single game digital, but on sale. I have nearly 200 games in my account. I still don't care about Game pass or multiplayer at all. The cloud saving is a must for me, and that is why I can't even imagine owning a PS5...I also bought the SSD card so I can keep a lot of games installed which is kind of like on my gaming PC.....which although is more powerful, gets less and less use with every day...
I think this is calculated and setup by design. First off, get people to get gamepass. Then slowly raise the price every 6-8 months. Question is will there be another price hike in 6 months? I said this same thing last price hike. So real question is when will it level off and no more price hikes? Make no mistake. Microsoft did and does know what they are doing. Even if they try to make the excuses and blame price hikes on other things. This was by design.

@@Mtl_flankwrong. If your talking about campaign you can do that digitally offline aswell. Disks are a waste nowadays, as you still have to download the game when you insert the disk

If you purchase 4 AAA games in a year that's 280.00 game pass ultimate at the new price point is 240 a year. So no it's not free, but any ganes that you play above and beyond those 4 games would be deemed as free since you already got your money's worth out of the subscription.

Myself there is only a handful of single player games that I can say I replay, so for me having a physical game is pointless once I've beat the game. Each to their own though. Id rather play 30+ games in a year for the cost of 4 AAA games rather than purchasing them separately spending a lot more than my subscription cost. For those that play less than 4 AAA games in a year it's probably not a good choice.
The steel series are ironically famous for using thin plastic in places that once it breaks, there's no fixing it.
How about they fix the lag problem before they have before trying anything they shut down FedEx for 5 hours because they lost everything I'm so close to going to going to ps over the lag for cod

To the original poster : Outside of usa nobody likes Xbox really, , it's that simple . Everyone I know who had both and game heavily all end up selling xbox down line . Baldurs gate 3 for example runs far better on PlayStations , was even delayed longer on Xb

Advertising for a game is easy af, make a 10 second cutscene or animation. Then show a minute of the game broken into 10 second parts. You literally only need about 120 seconds to advertise a good game.

I think Game Pass price increase is because they dug themselves into a $70 billion hole and now they need to make that money back. Charge anything you want for access to games, just make LIVE free And you would make a killing. Its the trickle effect. Free multiplayer keep peeps on and playing. If they there, gamepass can be on their mind, for a deal, new game, etc. Now? Cant play multiplayer, so not there. Not there means gamepass isnt a forethought. And thus a circle of friends wont be there telling them to try something new, unless its elsewhere.

Upgraded my VR headset for Alien, coming Holiday 2024. Metro Awakening, Behemoth, Zombie Army & Low-Fi all on VR look promising as well. Not really sure what I need an xbox for, other then Hellblade 2 & Stalker 2. It's not enough for me to buy one.
as a huge Xbox OG and 360 fan from the first hour, i can only hope that Microsoft will fail in the foreseeable future. Hate the way they are going with its focus on subscription model and ditching your physical media. Since the end of 360, Microsoft don't have a clue where the heck they are going with Xbox.
Trust me bro the marketing works. I own about 7 or 8 COD games and I've NEVER finished one. I don't even buy them for the multiplayer. The game eventually goes on sale for dirt cheap and everyone says the single-player is worth giving a shot so I pick it up. I watched UFC on the app this weekend and every ad was about College Football 25. I don't even watch football and I want to play this game. Xbox needs to step up its TH-cam, TV, and apps ad game.

Started gaming in 1993, been with Xbox since 2000, had every console ever made by them, currently on series X, I have almost 400 games, probably the best part of £8000 for them all over the years. My point is as an OG fan and player I don't feel the slightest bit respected for the 24 years I've spent with their products, it's changed so much now, it's not about gaming no more, everything is trying to take as much money from you as it can, but it's us who are the poor party 😂 the last 9 games I've bought for some serious prices ended up on gamepass the following week, it's all about entertainment now and Ray's right, a small mortgage is needed for all these subscriptions so for me, I'll be parting ways with Xbox come September and primarily go into PC Gaming, consoles aren't the same now, just suped up entertainment systems
