This is the first generation that I decided to go with both. Honestly, I couldn’t be happier I did. Both systems are wonderful! If I couldn’t afford both, I think a PS5 with a Series S would be a close second.
I had the ps5 day one, I really didn't need a xbox x or s. I seen some exclusives for xbox that made me get a xbox so I got the serise S in September 2023 the black tb1. I didn't like the resolution so I took it back and brought xbox series X. I can't stop playing my Xbox series X I'm in love with state of decay 2. I'm so excited for SOD 3. That's one reason I got the xbox, so I got the best of both worlds and I won't miss out on either console.
Same! This generation is the first generation of me owning a xbox. Mainly got it to play ps2 games and gamecube games via emulation via dev mode. Crazyyyyy that an xbox ia better at playing ps2 games than ps5 💀💀 Crazy times we are living in lol
I just bought a ps5 slim last week. I am 32 years old and this is the first PlayStation I have ever owned. Always been an Xbox kid. Pretty happy with it so far
But xbox has cheap services full of 1st party and 3rd party release day one on game pass microsoft has amazing generation with 360 and terrible with xbox one but now have best services and user friendly ,it is huge profit for users but if u want better some fun ability on controller and exclusive games sony has better for u ,honestly i have ps5 2 month then buy sereies x ,it is better by far as services
@@broadwaybull Not really, because most of those versions are inferior to the ones available on Steam. Plus, you can't mod most games there and at least half of them require a beefy PC.
@@EpsilonChurchRVB Yes… really, you may want to re-read my comment… and you have a great point about games on Steam vs. Gamepass… my point is XBox is totally pointless😂😂
As a PS5 owner, i prefer both in their own way. The PS5’s Dualsense is incredibly immersive and its exclusive library is great but the Series X has the best backwards compatibility I’ve ever seen. Another thing i think u forgot to mention is that I believe EA Play is also included with XGP and Bully also has a PS4 version
@@Jimmysky1The only one here who is a weirdo is you 🤣 All you do is throw temper tantrums over the fact that people enjoy being able to play videogames on multiple systems 🤣
There’s no point getting Xbox because you can play all Xbox exclusive games on pc. If you just want a console ps5 is the best option because you get better exclusive games selection.
So I have both of these consoles and I play them both quite equally, I found that the playstation is better for single player games and things like that, and I feel like the xbox has a much better online community and is better for connecting with friends and new people.
Where does it say that quantity equals better? Only thing more people would be better would be for multiplayer player pool and that shouldn't be a problem anyway
@user-qe1lk4pq8t original comment expresed what she thought was an advantage and that's ok. Your comment said that it wasn't the case because there's less people on Xbox. I expressed that it didn't matter. I play on both they seem about the same. Sure Xbox now is slowly showing performance gains over the PS5 with current gen games like Alan wake 2 but even that is incredibly negligible to matter outside of DF videos
@user-qe1lk4pq8tmaybe that's why, alot more people means in the long run alot more idiots, I ve a ps5 not series x, but gad xbox one and 360, and found the coumminty was much more friendly on the xbox.
I've ordered a ps5 for my son at christmas and I have to say, I'm really excited to see his reaction when he opens it as he loves gaming. I also did as a child as I played the first NES and it's shocking to see how far they have come.
@@Zamusfnclips can u shut up with your stupid criticise i love using my xbox for blu-rays with my sony blu ray player x700s here little thing Dont criticise consoles
For me it's the Series X easily. Being able to play classic games or try games I never played before from the OG Xbox and Xbox 360 era is fucking amazing. That's the #1 reason why I chose Xbox this gen. Other reasons are Quick Resume, lots of games having FPS Boost which can make a game feel like a whole new experience, and Microsoft Rewards, I have a huge game collection and controller collection and I would say almost half of my controllers I've gotten for FREE with the Microsoft rewards program (I have over 26). Can't forget Game Pass, it's not just being able to play great games, it comes with perk benefits, EA Play and game trials so basically i could play any new EA game for 10 hours, it's a damn good deal. Overall i really enjoy gaming on Xbox. I do have a ps5 but it is used only for exclusives, I usually go for platinum on their exclusives such as Spider-Man 2, GOW Ragnarok, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart and some others. The dualsense is pretty damn cool with the haptic triggers and feedback
@@Manuel-rl6um Yep it's awesome. I've gotten a good couple months for free with my reward points as well. But I love getting controllers for free with my points the most
Specially with remastered versions of Xbox and 360 and original One and One S these games look amazing like they are new games all for free. Can't say that in the PS5.
U also get discounts on game that aren't on gamepass...I just bought cyberpunk 2077 for $30...Its multiple sales on games every month & not just old games but games that just came out a month ago...I agree with literally every point you've made & i have both. U described gamepass perfectly for why I value it so much. Last generation I didn't have gamepass. I just had xbox gold just to be online. I bought the games in full so I already have a pretty good size library...2023 I played the most amount of games I've ever played in a year...Nba2k has been my core game for over a decade, & every other game circled around it b/c with sports games there is no ending. I play 82 game seasons, so I play from release date until the next release date...I like playing single player open world games also, but I play them to the fullest meaning doing all the side missions & as many activities as possible, so once I'm done I fill f orfilled enough to move on. Theres a few games that I played multiple times like RDR1 & RDr2, Max Payne 3, multiple Gears of War, etc. Krazy how the games I replayed the most are 360 games...I still play Fight Night Champion as if it came out yesterday & have been playing it consistently for 10 years lol. This was the most underwhelming generation ever!!! Like bro we're 4 years in & the majority of the games can be played on current or next gen. I was about to give up gaming but out of boredom I browsed & decided to try out Skate 3 b/c I used to love skateboard games on the ps1, & it's the best skateboard game I've ever played...But what changed everything was Assassin's creed origi 17:11 17:11
Series S + Game Pass + WD Black C50 1TB Expansion card is my combo. I don’t play big single player games. Mostly multiplayer and older games. The Series S handles everything flawlessly and Game Pass gives me access to a ton of games. For the price I paid (Series S $250 + Expansion card $125 on sale) you really can’t beat that value.
I went to BestBuy today and bought the Xbox series x. I bought an LG ultra gear 1440p monitor and also bought COD MW III. This is my first console since buying the Xbox 360 in 2005 on launch day. I haven't gamed since 2008. I have a lot of catching up to do. I have many CODs to play. I am glad Series X has backward compatibility.
Damn bro have fun!!! GTA 6 is also gonna be releasing in 1 year, you GOTTA play that, watch the trailer, its literally gonna be the biggest game release in history
I like the fact that the batteries are replaceable in the xbox controllers. Rechargeable batteries hold less charge overtime. It's also nice to just swap the batteries out instead of waiting for the controller to charge if you forgot to charge it from the last play session
You know you can play whilst the controller is charging right? Also, the overtime expense of buying batteries is insane and seriously adds up unless the batteries are rechargeable. I’ve had a PS4 for years too and the controllers still last almost just as long as they did when I first got the console.
I owned both but ended only playing one or the other, so after a tough decision I sold the PS5 as the Xbox Series X has more exclusives I'm interested in. I also love the quick resume of the Xbox and as a console it's much more pleasing to the eye.
Yeah, I'm leaning towards Xbox just because I want to play older games and I miss playing games like Forza Horizon, also the game I play the most on my PS4 is Fallout 4 and none of the PS5 only exclusives are attractive. I just want GTA6 to come out.
Honestly both. Tried to use just 1 platform, but the exclusives on Playstation and value we get from Gamepass make too strong of a case to not have or keep both. 😬

I own both a Series X and PS5. I use my Series X for multi-plats, some exclusives, playing with friends, and the amazing backwards compatibility. My PS5 is an exclusives only machine but the games are fantastic. Plus, i like using my PS5 as a 4k Blu-Ray player more than my Xbox. Love both systems
What’s this nonsence the XBox reads Blu-rays as well as the PS5 since I frequently used it as a Blu-ray player. Up to One X and the PS4 3D Blu-ray also was playable.
This reminds me when I was high school when SNES and Sega Genesis were out. Same conversation. I had the best of both worlds back then and currently have the best of both worlds now. I love them both. I love how they are different.
Personally, I prefer many of the features and experiences with the Xbox. I also really like their Backward Compatibility program, as it is the most extensive option from any of the three console makers. But I have both and love playing through many exclusive experiences on ps5. The VR2 headset is great and the faster SSD makes it hard to experience any loading anymore.
It's SO great. I really get a lot out of playing older games on it. Have even gone out of my way to pick up some OG xbox games that play insanely better on this xbox.@@homiej8163
As the owner of both Xbox and PlayStation systems, I would have to disagree with you about the batteries. It costs just the same if not less to buy a charger that comes with 4 AA batteries which can be swapped out on the fly and no having to worry about internal batteries dying over time like is happening to one of my DualShock 3 controllers now. Otherwise a great video with many good points on both sides. To me getting day one releases is not the least bit important, I would rather play games once they've been patched a few times.
I have both consoles and there are definitely pros and cons for each. I use the Xbox x for online play as that’s where all my mates are. But use PS5 for single player and exclusive games. If I had to pick I’d go PS5 as I love the haptic feedback and triggers on the controller. Still both great consoles and lots of games to play. Great video, keep up the good work!!! 👊
I'm similar. The Xbox is my primary go-to because it has better online play and options, like group postings. It's just easier to find good online groups and friends. And of course game pass, and backward compatibility. Xbox is the one if you want an easy and vast selection of games current and old, and also has the best enhanced features like fps boost, quick resume, and auto hdr that makes nearly every game better in one way or several. As far as the raw judgment of the consoles, services, and ease of access, Xbox is the better option. And it's true in practice too as I find myself using it more often in general. But if course that's not the biggest factor. I love the PS5 too. But I mainly only use it for its exclusives and a few single player games. I actually just canceled my ps plus subscription as well since the price increased and I just don't use it much on the platform. The VR is good too, though still not a big selection of interesting games. But it has enough. PS exclusive games are definitely a system seller, and anyone would be perfectly happy with either console. But when I have both I do use Xbox more.
I'm lucky to have both. The diffrence for me is the day 1 triple a for xbox gamepass is the best value. I enjoy multi-player more on seriesx and single player on ps5
9 months ago or so I was between Switch, Steam Deck and XSS. I decided on the XSS as it had an offer for 249€ instead of 299, and got 2 months of GamePass Ultimate for free. And now I get GamePass Ultimate through Microsoft Rewards. Xbox Series S is the deal of the decade, so much value packed in such a wee beauty.
Great video. I am partial to the xbox. My mates are xbox and the titles I want to play are on xbox. Do you still think it is worth the buy in 2024 considering they may be considering the building of a new console?
i bought an xbox series x a week ago and i am loving it so far! All the features like quick resume or backwards compatibility are awesome and it is a very good upgrade from my Xbox one s
I have a series x for a week now. Im 35 years old and had playstations since 1998. This is my first xbox and i dont regret buying it. Everything is better in my opinion expect the controller. I love the game pass ultimate
game pass ultimate is also very good you can play a lot of games with just one subscription so you can play hundreds of games from the cost of literally 1 game a month
I just went with both this generation. I love both very much! I prefer my PS5 for exclusive games and single-player related stuff. While I use my series X for backyards compatibility, Gamepass and emulation via dev mode which allows me to play GameCube, PS2 and retro games. If you don’t have the funds for both.. probably the PS5 is the better choice
@sunflower7874 if you can build your PC then get a PC. I'm more of a console fan. Every single penny was worth it. Played halo infinite all night. I'm getting forza horizon next. Then I'll get red redemption 2.
I ended up buying both the Xbox Series X and the PS5 disc model and I have to say both are great in their own ways. I have found myself more often than not using my PS5 as more of an entertainment center than a game system, meaning I use it as my main 4k movie player. I use my Xbox Series X more as a gaming system. I still play games on my PS5 too though. Plus I love the Xbox backwards compatibility. I like both of them!

I own both. PlayStation definitely has more to offer in terms of first party exclusives but I usually find myself playing my Series X more because of Game Pass Ultimate and it’s backwards compatibility. It’s nice not having to constantly drop hundreds of dollars just to play all the new releases and you get access to many different games wether they be 1st party or even 3rd party games. However the PS5 has some amazing exclusives that also make it well worth it. I have no regrets buying both of them.
@@dusermiginte4647 wdym bloodborne, ghost of Tsushima, the whole modern Spider-Man man series, the infamous series, the last of us series… or just a couple examples of the exclusives PlayStation has, and they’re all better than any exclusive Xbox has
Honestly the only thing I’d disagree with is your take on the controller batteries. I don’t see how having the option to remove a battery makes something worse… I can swap out dead ones, buy various types of batteries.. replace old ones when they stop lasting as long, etc. I can still use it as a rechargeable controller if I want to. You don’t HAVE to use AAs.. although you can. Whereas you got what you got with the PS controller.
With a PS controller, I don't have to keep wasting money on buying more batteries, rechargeable or not, because it's almost always a guarantee that the battery already included with the controller can last you far longer than the lifespan of the console itself. At least, that has been the case for me with PS3 and PS4 controllers. When I had a 360 controller, and even now with a Series S controller, I kept finding myself buying batteries, and when I switched to rechargeable ones, they didn't even last for a whole year before they kept dying less than two hours of playtime. And don't even get me started with the official rechargeable packs that are made not to last for more than a few months of repeated use...
I'm still rocking my Series S which I bought last year and it's still awesome. I prefer it over the X and PS5 (which I actually wanted to buy initially). I'm a casual player and I don't have a 4K HDMI 2.1 comlatible TV. I also prefer a minimalistic design and a small form factor. And the PS5 exclusives don't vibe with me. But most importantly I don't have the biggest budget and the S allows me to play great games at a very low cost.
Own both systems. My PS5 is used for single player games (Spiderman 2, ractchet n clank, ghost of tsushima etc) plus the haptic feedback on the controller makes the gameplays on there a very immersing experience. Xbox Series X is used for more multiplayer games like forza, battlefield, gotham knights etc. So both serve their purpose. Also ps plus price hike makes me play more single player on there and xbox still kept their same pricing so makes sense to get memebership to play online there.
I'm 56 yrs old and remember going to 7/11 stores and dumping quarters to play Asteroids, Missile Command, and Defender 🤣 We'd lay our quarter on the machine to be the next in line as we all hung out and got sugar highs on Slurpees! That's how we gamed with friends. LOL Thanks for this great video as I have the Xbox 360 and love FPS games and am hooked on RD2 right now. You can't go wrong with choosing either one but like you said it all comes down to which your friends have and I would choose which consoles my friends would have
I have both but I’ve actually been gaming on my Switch way more than either of them this year. Mostly has to do with having way less TV time this year so the Switch in handheld mode has been awesome.
@@cun7us I don’t own a Steam Deck and have never been much of a PC gamer so I can’t give much insight there. But if I didn’t already have the other two consoles I’d actually go with Switch AND PC/Steam Deck, instead of one or the other, since most exclusives on PS5/XSX come to PC now too.
@@cun7us I mean, if money was tight I’d still go with Switch. It’s $200-$400 cheaper than a Steam Deck, depending on what model of Switch and Steam Deck you get. And you could use that saved money to pick up any number of quality releases the Switch has had in 7 years. I don’t really care about hardware specs being “outdated”, I’m moreso interested in the actual games themselves.
I grew up in the 80's and 90's when the discussion was Sega vs. Nintendo. Always had Nintendo systems. Nes, Snes, N64, game cube, Wii. My oldest brother moved on to Sony systems. I moved to Xbox, where I remained as the majority of my friends did the same. I've had the Series X for nearly 3 years now and I've loved it, but there's been highs and lows. The lows for me being a perceived lull in titles that are truly 'unmissable' in my opinion. Starfield didn't grab me at all, in fact it drove me back to Fallout 4 for my Bethesda fix. But gamepass is absolutely unreal and means I can play all the exclusives day 1 without the worry of paying out for a game I don't like. I loved hellblade, Halo etc and i'm really looking forward to the new exclusives and the rollout of games using Unreal 5 to really showcase the power of the system. But then my PC gamer mate got Helldivers 2 and I was absolutely desperate to join in. So, I bit the bullet and bought my first ever PS system in the PS5 only a few weeks ago. Honestly, I'm absolutely loving everything about it! I can now play all the exclusives I've missed out on for all these years and so far, everything looks and plays amazing and it's a breath of fresh air. I consider myself very fortunate to now have the holy trinity, having bought my kids a Nintendo Switch a few years ago (mainly so I could play Zelda - ToTK my previous GoTY for sure and to smash them at Mario Kart - a right of passage for any young gamer). I get people will always have their personal preferences and some won't ever consider 'changing sides' for various reasons, but honestly, you're only limiting yourself. I know that these systems don't come cheap though, but keep your eye out for 0% interest deals (they're out there!) spread the cost out to make it affordable for your budget. Obviously the elite race of PC gamers need not worry with such quandaries as you generally get the best of both worlds 😅
@GoofNut123 After a year I think I'd be happy with the PS5. Microsoft dropped the ball after pushing through Project Latitude which has devalued their console in such a negative way
I have both consoles. I mainly use the PS5 as a exclusive console. This year has been weak on first party for Playstation. I have platinum Spider-Man 2 now there's nothing for a long while. I have completed Final Fantasy 16 which is a current third party exclusive. My main console I use is the Xbox Series X. I play the Microsoft exclusives and most of the third party games on it. Plus Games Pass is the best deal in gaming.
@cun7us what exclusives as xbox had since release none till this year and redfall is the biggest disgrace as an exc lusive triple a title priced at 70quid xbox as more studios than Sony and Nintendo combined and exclusives on xbox are dismal
@@paultaylor299 Let's see, what has Xbox come out with this year... I'm fortunate to have both the PS5 and XSX. I've always been a massive PS fan - I bought my first Xbox a couple years ago and I love it too. I got it to play Forza Horizon 5 (one of the best driving games) and Starfield and Hellblade 2, when it releases. The graphics and performance on the XSX run and look phenomenally crisp. While I do not have a Game Pass, I hear that is a great plus for Xbox owners as well. The PS5 also is graphically amazing and performs very well. The PS app runs smoother over Xbox and it’s takes the XSX longer to upload screenshots. It here is no right or wrong answer here, but there is no denying that Sony has some of the strongest title exclusives. Spider-Man, Last of Us, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn / Forbidden West, The Uncharted Series, Ghost of Tsushima, Gran Turismo, and much more. The PS5 also has the duel sense controller with haptic feedback and resistant triggers. When I switch over to the Xbox from playing the PS5, there is a drastic shift in my gaming experience - the Xbox controller feels “cheaper” and the buttons are very loud and “clacky” (I’m looking at you D-Pad) and batteries drain very quickly. I realize it’s typical for Xbox to use batteries in the controllers and you go an get rechargeable batteries, but just being able to pick up a fully PS5 controller off the charging dock and not having to worry about batteries is a great plus. The duelsense controller buttons are also very quiet, and feel more premium in-hand. I wish XSX would step up more innovative tech and add more thier list of exclusives. Just my thoughts, both are absolutely great consoles, but I feel that the PS5 has the advantage. Between the controller technology on PS5 and the massive list of award winning exclusive titles, I find myself using the PS5 more, even for playing games offered on both consoles.
@@dealman3312 It was an adjustment when I first began using the PS5, but I don't mind it now. The smaller menu when holding the PS button is a nice shortcut to options like accessories (controller, headphones) music, power, etc...
Honestly, I own the X and the 5 slim. I have Ultimate and Premium both. I lean towards the 5 because of the entire library. The biggest selling point to me though is I can download faster over wi fi with the 5 than I can the X.
I've got both, bought series X at launch and a ps5 last month. Just platinumed Spiderman 2 and 100% completed Starfield. Both are beautiful machines. I love them both.
I enjoy both. PS5 for the exclusives (can’t wait for Factions 2 if it ever happens!) and the series X for gamepass, Halo and backwards compatible games. I don’t have a nice PC to game on, so these two work for my gaming. Grateful to be able to own both. I will say that I have been using my Series X much more than the PS5 as of late.
Glad to see the comments don’t have so much hate. Either way, these are both great systems. Xbox series x is better for performance, and the Ps5 is better for people who want to experience exclusive games (Spiderman 1, Spiderman 2, God of war, etc,)
Ive always been a Playstation person, but this generation I took a leap of faith. I got an xbox. I do like both, but because I'm not a heavy gamer as I used to be, gamepass has allowed to play multiple titles here and there on my free time. At first, there wasn't so many exclusive and almost regretted in buying it, but after 2 years which is still a long time, game pass has finally been solid with multiple first party games and 3rd games coming out. Im enjoying it.
I own both the Series X and the PS5 mainly because I have friends that use both platforms. They are both are solid platforms this generation, you really couldn’t go wrong with either
After 20+ years of being a gamer(nintendo+steam), I finally picked my first xbox, the series x is pretty F good! The only ps5 exclusive games I envy are the FFVIIR games, hope they come at a later date to series x also, hope xbox doesn’t die next week
PS5 vs XBOX Spawn point, you have become my favorite TH-camr in a matter of days. I'm getting a gaming setup for Christmas and im watching all of your vids so I choose the right stuff for my gaming setup. You are seriously helping me a lot. 😊😊❤
For me this time around, I chose the PS5. Mostly due to the exclusives. The last PlayStation I had was the PS3, so I’ve missed out of some of the recent exclusives like Horizon and The last of Us. When I last owned an Xbox, I mostly just played the exclusives such as Halo and Gears of War, but nowadays you can just play them on PC. I grew up on PS, so I’ll be having fun playing my classical favorites like Sly Cooper and Jak and Daxter. 😊
Seriously impressed with the quality and content within the video. You covered all aspects perfectly and went into enough detail for each category to help people determine the console that would suit their needs the best. Hats off and really gotta say, you went above and beyond with this video and have done an absolutely commendable job in this comparison. Thank you for your hard work. Keep em coming 💯🙏
Currently own the Series X. So far it’s been absolutely brilliant. I have had it for over a year but im thinking of getting a Ps5 soon. Wouldn’t hurt to have both right?😂
As per quite a few people now I also own both. As a PC guy, initially the PS5 made far more sense in terms of certain PS5 and PS4 exclusives. I then picked up a Series X recently as they're constantly on sale (I only paid £350) and also because I wanted to preserve, as much as is possible, physical copies of my favourite games on disc, as owning everything digitally on PC is far less secure long term imo. The PS5 has the better exclusives (for me) and I simply love the controller - the reactive triggers aren't just a gimmick, they're incredible (though the SX controller is still solid). The SX on the other hand has a superior back catalogue of amazing games going right back to the original Xbox (Splinter Cell, KOTOR, Oblivion etc the list is huge) and due to emulation can often drastically improve upon said titles. I only wish microsoft would restart the FPS Boost program... I don't belive you can go wrong with either really.
I sincerely think the controller advantage that our gaming community is giving to PS5 since launch is an overstatement. I switched from PC to console gaming with PS5 and Series S, so I have a first hand experience with both the controllers. Even though the dual sense takes a lead in terms of haptics and adaptive triggers, the xbox controller won me over and over again with better ergonomics. Smaller size (mind you I have fairly large hands), crunchy D-Pad, tactile AXYB, grippier triggers and lastly the analog sticks. There is something about those off-set concave sticks which makes movement feel tighter, hold my thumbs better and thus make me feel more in control with the in-game action. It gets the basics right!! The more I spend time with these consoles, the more I realize the advanced haptics and adaptive trigger are good to haves rather than must haves.
Xbox controllers are bigger than the PS5 controller. Xbox definitely has the better design but as a console player, the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback and the ability to swipe and click half of the TouchPad makes up for it. Can't imagine swinging around NYC without those extra features.
I own both. I prefer the UI of the ps5 as well as the superior controller on the ps5. Adaptive triggers and the insane haptic feedback are game changers. But other than that, they both play games perfectly and amazingly and both are excellent choices. I grew up on xbox but switched to ps4 and since then, I prefer playstation in general.
That Dual Sense pretty functions drain that battery to the point where the system constantly nags you that you have a low battery every couple of hours of play. It's better than the last controller, but to call it superior is a massive stretch. I get it you love your PS5 but to say it's superior is also a stretch. When that battery on the controller goes through the cycles, it's not like you can just tear it apart to get to the battery. It requires alot of energy just to replace that battery. At least with the Xbox, changing out rechargeables are cost effective over time. No need to trash the controller once the batteries die and lose charge. The PS5 is decent but to me, it's a little over hyped. This gen including the X is way overhyped. The 360/PS3 era was the bigger jump than this gen.
@@chipapa50you can charge your ps5 controller while you're playing. And it lasts 7-8 hours. That's essentially a whole day of gaming. Unless you're a no life, that should last you one day and then you can charge it overnight. Xbox has outdated garbage batteries on their controllers that add extra charge on top of already having the controller. The dude who said the ps5 controller is superior is totally correct and you're just in denial. 😂
Thanks for your information and opinions. I've been so confused about the consoles lately, as I haven't bought on in years. This video helped me to make my mind up lol.
@@chanyphilly8266 Yeah, I bought a PS5 because I already had an Xbox One and I wanted to play all the PS4 games I missed out on like God of War, Spider-Man, Ratchet and Clank, The Last of Us, etc.
We've had a Switch for 5 years and now that the kids are older I wanted to get back in to current gen games like COD. I ended up getting the Series S because it was super affordable. $250 with tax got me the console and 3 months of gamepass. My whole family has found somthing to play on GP and IM back in to COD for.the first time in years!
I have a PS5. I like the design of it. On the Xbox i like that there is like Forza Horizon 5 and MSFS2020. So i like both of them. Great Video by the way! Good job!
8:06 the fact the Xbox controller uses replaceable batteries is a feature and not a con. When the PS5 controller’s battery goes you have to replace the entire controller. I don’t like that. I’d much prefer to buy a rechargeable battery pack and replace that since it’s cheaper.
@@jasonb.3902 good news, there’s a rechargeable battery pack for Xbox controllers. And it’s cheaper to replace than a PS5 controller (both eventually go bad).
I agree, I prefer having the option to change out batteries because when the internal battery dies in my PS5 controller that’s it just gotta buy a new one
I currently own neither. It's still pretty wildly expensve to secure one here in Jamaica. Some sellers are selling them nearly twice the price because of shippiing prices etc.
@@MufasaBrandy I have a gaming laptop my friend, but there are just certain games exclusive to PS5 that I’ve had to miss out on or wait years to experience. Like the unchsrted collection and Spider-Man games. I’ll see about investing in a ps5 next year
It's not even because of shipping fees them just thief, they get huge discounts on bulk shipping items so in reality the shipping fees paid for one console is probably barely anything.
I just have a PS5 and a Switch OLED and honestly that’s enough for me :) Would I use an Xbox for things like Starfield, Forza, and a couple rounds of Halo once in a blue moon? Sure, but honestly having PS+ Extra and the NSO Expansion Pack gives me all of the new and old games I’d ever want to play! I’ll probably pick up the Carbon Black Series S eventually but for now I’m content just having 2/3
Always had Xboxes, the backwards compatibility is what makes me stick with it. I can still play gen 1 games on the Series X. Game pass is functional, and worth it!
I have both. Love both. PS5 has better exclusives to date, but Xbox has had a great year imo with Starfield, Forza, Hifi Rush and Age of Empires 4. I’ve been playing my Xbox a lot lately
I have both and all this years exclusives on xbox are weak...starfield is meh, forza...don't even get me started. Redfall was a flop as well. Probably Age of empires is the best of them all tbh. Microsoft is just too busy to pump out sub par content for gamepass. Just my take.
@@Crashed131963playstation had one game this year and a dlc.. and a movie. Xbox had like 8 games this year man.. Next year is the first year owning 34 game studios compared to sonys 21 game studios.. 2024 is going to be lit. For Xbox.
I've been an Xbox fan ever since the 360 first launched in 2005. If it weren't for the backwards compatibility, controller comfort, left thumb stick above the dpad, the exclusives, and the history of games that I purchased throughout the course of 10 years I would DEFINATELY choose the PS5 as my console
Was considering buying a PS5 but I've always been an xbox user. Felt right to stay with them. Got my 1TB Series S just recently after deciding between X & S, I have 4K monitors & compared the graphics with my friends PS5, my Series S & my other friends Series X. I truly don't see a difference between them besides the colors but even then it's hard to notice for the casual player. Any of these consoles are beasts 💪🏽 here's to next gen & ending console wars
I own the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 5, Xbox Series S, and PC. I'm mostly on my PC nowadays, but I still hop on my consoles every now and then. I have been mostly impressed with the PS5. It's a great console overall, with a bunch of great games to play. My only issue is the tv that my consoles are hooked up to is a 7 year old 1080p 60hz tv, so I eventually want to upgrade my tv to something a bit nicer, like a 4k 120hz samsung, lg, or sony tv.
For PlayStation people who want the Xbox 360 backwards compatibility, I recommend picking up a later model Xbox one. Picked one up on marketplace for $120 and it’s a great option
I own both. For game selection, I’d keep the PS if I had to give one back. I do love the box tho, I much prefer the look and its controller. Luckily I don’t need to pick one 😅 Edit: I forgot backwards compatibility on the Xbox! I love that so much and have had a blast picking up games I played back in the day. This definitely wins points
Game Pass recently got a price hike in India, making it similar in price to PS Plus subscription. I was initially considering to get Xbox Series X because of cheaper Game Pass Ultimate, but now since the prices are similar, I'm confused which to get. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you!
First I was thinking about getting the PS5 because I had all the previously versions.... But then I thought the Xbox Series S would be it, because of the gamepass solution and I kinda miss the Xbox 360 where I could play Skate 3 and old FPS shooting games. So I actually ended up buying the Xbox Series X and thought, let's go all in for it! I didn't get disappointed at all and enjoying using the console!
PS5 Better Exclusives Better Crontroller Better Accessories Xbox Series Better pricing Better Specs More backwards compatibility (don’t argue ps plus premium has a lot of classics though it does you need ps plus to play them for Xbox you can just search up an old game title and buy it without needing game pass or gold) better UI, more games. lol don’t start a war.
can u shut up with your stupid criticism about the xbox i think xbox is good since i use it fro the pc so keep your OPINION TO YOURSELF no one wants to hear it!
No. Criticism allowed do not put the xbox down like using my blu ray app part on it as my media player on the xbox with my sony Blu-rays player x700 So don't you criticize Xbox and put them down
I have owned a XSX for a year now and this week purchased the PS5, I can’t deny that the PS5 feels truly next gen and the controller is mint. Having a blast playing Ratchet and Clank and Demons Souls. One thing I can’t understand is, the Xbox is technically a more powerful machine yet Ratchet and Clank alone has much better graphics than anything I have ever seen an Xbox do. Also, I am an older gamer starting off with NES and SNES and Xbox gamepass does not appeal to me like it seems to with so many people, I’m sorry but why would I spend £400 on a new console to play 20 year old games? The nostalgia factor is great but ten minutes in and I am bored. Give me new games already!
I have both and my PS5 is for the occasional exclusives and games that utilise the dual sense controller well, and my Series X is for Game Pass and everything else.
I like the PS5 but the Series X was a no brainer for me because I already had a large library of playable games built up for my old xbox, xbox 360 and Microsoft store games that I bought for PC. The backwards compatibility program is a huge selling point for anyone who still has their old xbox game library. The only real downside is that Microsoft has pretty much run their exclusive titles into the ground and most of the good stuff left is also already on PC, so there aren't a lot of great experiences you can't get on PS5 unless you reach into the backwards compatibility library. The hardware itself is excellently designed, runs cool and silent and the controller has second to none ergonomics as we've come to expect from Microsoft since the 360. If you like subscription models, gamepass is also unrivaled though I don't care for that sort of thing. I think Sony made a mistake not allowing for playing PS1 and PS2 game discs natively since they are so easy to emulate these days. I understand excluding PS3 though.
Great video👍 I own both the PS5 and the Series x, but I can comfortably say the PS5 is the better system for me. The biggest reason are the games, which Xbox lacks. When I say games, I mean exclusives.
Big cap lol, sony this year released almost no games and next year has nothing announced. Xbox has a literally dozens of first party exclusives announced. This may of once been true but the whole narrative of xbox has no games is quickly and forever dieing. Sony have so many games being delayed and canceled and studios being gutted. Massive layoffs senior management running or being pushed out the door. Competition is heating up big time.
I played Starfield, with all honesty that game was garbage 🗑️, to the point I never want to open the game again. Halo infinite was pretty boring, it has definitely lost its magic over years. Redfall looks awful, the graphics are b-tec level, it doesn’t look appealing to even want to play it. I can go on and on. Xbox may be releasing games, but the quality isn’t there. I don’t want quantity I want quality. That’s my personal input on the matter.
@@mansoornourzaie5756 starfield is far from trash I've played probably 40hours at this point I work 60hours a week so my gaming time is pretty limited. But enjoyed all my play through so far, halo infinite at its launch was lacking, best game play of any of the halos bar none, but they absolutely botched the launch, you should try it again sometime. I play a few rounds on Sundays and the new season has had a big resurgence of content and players. It was always a good for the gameplay just sorely lacking content at launch. Fingers crossed 🤞 lessons learned. Redfall is trash, you won't hear me argue...but so was forespoken so even Playstation has its misses. Fortza is arguably one of the best racing games, I've played some gt7 and I enjoyed it too so I'm not putting it down. My biggest issue with your argument and alot of people's is that it's objective quality on Playstation...for me...spiderman is a 10-14hr 70$ game with 60% of the "game play" being cutscenes. I don't buy games to watch it...I want to play the game. The combat is not for me, I will say it's a pretty game, and the traversal mechanics are fun, but it's just not a game for me. So can agree to disagree.
@@chance0marasso Not a single xbox game has EVER won a Game Of The Year award. Whereas Sony games have. Think about that. It just goes to show the difference in talent from both Sony and xbox.

You know you can play whilst the controller is charging right? Also, the overtime expense of buying batteries is insane and seriously adds up unless the batteries are rechargeable.

Backwards compatibility makes me so happy. I was finally able to play Conker and it was awesome.

I ended up buying both the Xbox Series X and the PS5 disc model and I have to say both are great in their own ways.

Went w/ the SeriesX in Jan 2022 as my first Xbox and its just simply a beautiful piece of machinery.
Best ever comparison, keep it up mate😮
I'm still rocking my Series S which I bought last year and it's still awesome. I prefer it over the X and PS5 (which I actually wanted to buy initially). I'm a casual player and I don't have a 4K HDMI 2.1 comlatible TV. I also prefer a minimalistic design and a small form factor. And the PS5 exclusives don't vibe with me. But most importantly I don't have the biggest budget and the S allows me to play great games at a very low cost.
You’ll be able to play gta 6 too!!!
The best comparison video i've seen so far. You touched on so many things, in 15 minutes
Exact reasons you have since I have both systems as well
Xbox literally raised their prices a couple weeks before the ps plus hike??
I'm 56 yrs old and remember going to 7/11 stores and dumping quarters to play Asteroids, Missile Command, and Defender 🤣 We'd lay our quarter on the machine to be the next in line as we all hung out and got sugar highs on Slurpees! That's how we gamed with friends. LOL Thanks for this great video as I have the Xbox 360 and love FPS games and am hooked on RD2 right now. I think since I'm familiar with Xbox, and now after this video, I will go with a new Xbox Series X, Again, thanks for a respectful and informative video for us older guys who are trying to keep up!!
Same I can't wait for next week when my Portal arrives 🎮
I use my switch the least until I can get a new controller that is comfortable I barely use my switch it hurts my hand 😢
Haven’t used my switch in awhile, still have to beat donkey Kong tropical freeze, get Mario wonder and haven’t played Mario maker in awhile
Owned a PS5 since launch and got a Series X last week. Both consoles are absolutely brilliant....
If you could only have one, which?
There is no microsoft exclusives so weird statement to make

@@paultaylor299Are you suggesting that Xbox hasn't had exclusive releases before 2023? 😂
How’s the user experience navigating around the ps5? Because I felt ps4 was horrible in that regard.
@@dealman3312 It was an adjustment when I first began using the PS5, but I don't mind it now. The smaller menu when holding the PS button is a nice shortcut to options like accessories (controller, headphones) music, power, etc...

Ive always been a Playstation person, but this generation I took a leap of faith. I got an xbox. When I last owned an Xbox, I mostly just played the exclusives such as Halo and Gears of War, but nowadays you can just play them on PC.

First mate I've seen do a direct comparison without being a fanboy
I don't belive you can go wrong with either really.
i got both systems for christmas a year apart and I have to say having both is literally so cool bc I have the chance to not really miss anything
Can't imagine swinging around NYC without those extra features.
for me to , xbox controler is way more comfortable to use
For me as someone who owns both and have put in a significant amount of time with both, I definitely choose the dualsense...

Yup I agree 👍
Haptic feedback, motion controller and it has a touch pad on the controller for more interaction cause u can swipe on your controller
The dude who said the ps5 controller is superior is totally correct and you're just in denial. 😂
In terms of immersion it doesn't make much sense since your hand vibrates from a movement on the screen

Criticism allowed do not put the xbox down like using my blu ray app part on it as my media player on the xbox with my sony Blu-rays player x700 So don't you criticize Xbox and put them down
@@ROBLOX-1gv7ej2j Im not though I have been prasing xbox. wdym?
I have owned a XSX for a year now and this week purchased the PS5,
I can’t deny that the PS5 feels truly next gen and the controller is mint.
Well said, agree. Xbox sucks
Exactly
@@cloudGGsps sucks
@@cloudGGsPlaystation sucks😂
I have both and my PS5 is for the occasional exclusives and games that utilise the dual sense controller well, and my Series X is for Game Pass and everything else.
Same
I own both and it’s hard to say “whats better” because exclusive aside they both shine in the own ways and it really does come down to preferences
@@chance0marasso Now that xbox has Activision/Blizzard, Bethesda and a slate of games from Xbox game studios coming up, I don't think the lack of exclusives narrative is going to last very long.
