I wanted to share with you guys our experience with the military moving process! It was our first PCS so we really didn't know what to expect. I also shared a little empty house tour of our new home on Camp Pendleton! We are so in love with it and excited to start this next chapter of our life together. Thank you for all of the support! That’s the nicest Camp Pendleton house I’ve ever seen!? We live off base but our friends on post houses suck lol
Yes! I've seen some of the other ones that are super run down or tiny on here. The Facebook page with the housing pictures helped a lot while I was trying to find a community
Hi girlie, I am a military fiance. We plan on getting married in Feb and hopefully moving into a home when I graduate around May. I am moving and taking our dog all the way across the country with us. I am so nervous. I am scared about the process because I am flying across the country with both of our stuff and our puppy. I hope it goes smoothly and we get a nice home.

Thanks girl! I was so nervous for this move & couldn't find too much info on the process so I thought I'd share our experience! In the end it all worked out even with some of the hiccups haha

I was told when we move we have two options for moving. One being the military moves all your stuff and the other one we figure out and pay for it but get reimbursed in a way. Which one did you guys do or suggest?
Yes you do!! We were moving from Hawaii so we had them move our stuff for us. Paying to ship our own stuff from Hawaii would have been way way too expensive. If we were able to drive to our next duty station then we would definitely consider that option!

My husband is thinking of joining the military and im trying to figure out the process im the only one working right now but we have a baby and id have to quit my job if he joins how soon until wed get on base housing?
Hey Destiny! The process of getting housing on base varies so much. It really depends on the availability at the time of your move. Some people get in a home quickly and others have to wait months. DM me on my ig and I can try to answer any questions you have (@tehanichristophers)

My husband and I are moving to Camp Pendleton in May. What home type did you guys end up getting? We are trying to figure out the differences between the north and south communities online. We are trying to get a 3 bedroom also but like you guys, we are childless so we will see if that works in our favor too.

Hi we will be moving soon to fortbragg from Portland Oregon.does the movers bring their own boxes and rapping stuff?and how soon did u get the movers before moving?
Soo exciting!! The movers brought everything! We actually had them come pack up our things about three weeks before we left the island and moved out. My parents live in Hawaii so we went to stay with them for those three weeks with the hopes that our stuff would be in California when we got there

See my wife is stressed, I’m re-enlisting in the service from army to navy and the wife isn’t happy whatsoever about moving being we have 2 young boys, how often do you move? Can we buy a house in our home state of FL and i just move? Trying to find the best alternative which might be slim and none.
Hi Antonio! Moving really varies for a lot of people. I've noticed a big factor in how often people remain at a duty station depends on how long your enlistment package is for, your MOS, and even location (but really they do whatever they want). I found a lot of people that I personally knew moved about every 3 to 4 years. I did however see people moving sooner than that and even people that got to stay in the same state for yearsss. Your orders will have when you will be up for rotation so that can give you at least the minimum (in most cases) of how long you'll be at that duty station. Also, yes you can buy a home in Florida and get geo-batch if that fits for your family better!
You got really lucky on the housing. They try to were you over so bad. They always do it to us too 😂

Why did it take 30-45 days to get your stuff to california?
Our things needed to be shipped from Hawaii so it took a while. I'm not sure if that's the regular amount of time it takes for everyone, but that was the timeline they gave us

does the army pay to move you and your Soldiers belongings to your first duty station?
Hey girl! I actually met my husband when he was already in the Marines at his first duty station, but I'm pretty sure that all branches do cover that first move!!
