    i love what you said about military wives going through the same thing. had my baby in july but me and my fiancé were not yet married so when he got his first orders to leave literally a month later i was crushed! it was so hard but yes the baby will definitely keep you busy. i also decided to take some real estate classes so that also kept me busy. he came home this past holiday and it was amazing and we ended up eloping. he's going to be finished in less than 3 months then we will be moving with him once he gets his next duty station. so many feelings but im mostly anxious and excited

    My husband just retired after 20 years in the Air Force ... transitioning to civilian life is not easy lol Enjoy your travels ... Thanks to your husband for serving. Vlogging is helping me adjust a little... basically keep me busy. I suggest volunteering when you can... it helps meeting new people and friends. I’ve got 5 kids..: I used to bring them where I can ... I love volunteering and being involved in the military community. Try it out!

    Yea if everything goes as planned. The same mouth I give birth is when I need to move from a friends house into my apartment while I wait for my husband to finish job training school, THEN move again to where ever we are being shipped to, but then our baby will still be less then a year old. I am not sure if my husband will be deployed as soon as his done with school or be able to come home but its going to be about a year before we can live together again. So it will be me and the baby, just grateful I have my mother to help me. This will be my first ( and only maybe) child.

    Girl..I cant imagine how stress you must've been during PCS plus a new born baby. My husband just got out of the military and his out processing was stressful for us as well and we don't even have kids. So I can only imagine to all those military families that have to go through plus deal with kids. We also did the do it yourself move but we also ran into some complications with reserving the truck and our move out date. The moving company was so booked the month we were suppose to leave and wasnt available till the next month after so we had to extend our apartment lease for one month which luckily they were okay with it. As our moving date got closer we havent received a confirmation on our truck so we kept bugging the moving company about it and luckily they came the weekend we were leaving. It is definitely stressful moving. But I hope all is well, and your guys future moves becomes more easy!

    i have a question ! when you first moved to the first military base did you bring your car with you or get a new one out there ? i wanna know like if they help with the shipping cost for the car or you have to do that on your own ?

    • @CindyLaTruce95
      @CindyLaTruce95 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We brought our car with us to the new base :) I know some people will sell there car and get a new one if they are moving cross country, some will drive their car cross-country, some ship their car. Personally, we were only moving about 2 hours to the new base, so we just drove it there. In regards to shipping costs, I'm not sure if they reimburse. You may have to ask DMO/TMO when you go through the PCS process

    When you had to stay in the hotel while you were waiting for housing did they pay for it or was that on you? Also, doing the “do it yourself “ move, how did it work with reimbursing? We are about to get our first PCS and I have no idea what to do or expect...!

    • @CindyLaTruce95
      @CindyLaTruce95 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They paid for the first 10 days and the rest was out-of-pocket. Luckily, the BAH kicked in so we had that to pay for the rest of the time in the hotel. Make sure to keep ALL receipts, gas/restaurant receipts, tolls/weigh stations, rental truck contracts, storage contracts, basically every piece of paperwork you get during your your DIY move. You will need to gather the forms that are needed fro reimbursement and make sure everything is filled in correctly. Also, try to stay under your weight allowance because if you go over, you will have to pay out of pocket and they will only reimburse you up to the allowance I believe. Be sure to check with DMO! Hope this helps!

    • @CindyLaTruce95
      @CindyLaTruce95 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not completely sure if you can get housing the same day that you get married. It all depends on you getting your paperwork and information in the system so that your spouse can claim you as a dependent. Also, your spouse would have to go through a short process of transitioning out of the barracks - going from the bachelor enlisted quarters/officer quarters to requesting basic housing allowance (BAH). On top of that, if you apply for housing, there still may be a wait time if they still need to make repairs and maintenance on the house for you to move in. This is just from personal experience, but definitely talk to your spouse for more info! Hope this helps!
