@drewcamden Good time dude! Thanks so much for having me and showing me the ropes. 🙏🏻🤝 I appreciate you brother as much as I respect what you’ve done for this game💯🍾
The best way to focus the IPDs is to close one eye, focus just that eye and then close the other and focus that one. I've found that for me one eye is a little off so don't expect the IPDs to line up properly. Works for me on the Aomways.
Good tip. I get my first set of goggles today.. coming from box. So im a little worried Also my ipd is JUST on the minimum line of range according to the specs.
AFAICS The original goggles were EV800. All of the features of the FatSharks for $199 and more you'll find in EV800D (diversity, DVR, video in, headphone jack) and on top of it - 2 proper SMA connectors for antennas. They come packaged with a K-loverleaf and a patch antenna - all ready to rock. And I even like the color... better than the FS'
I'm with him, I need a box goggle , I have 20/20 vision in both eyes but I have a lazy eye and due to that I can never get the separate screens in focus I have tried for 7 hours with a buddies and never any luck . When everything is in a normal distance you can't tell I have a lazy eye but once it gets closer to my face it goes all crossed. So thanks for the review of those from a beginner point of view
Old schhhoolll drib had to pop over on this to figure out how the v3 work lol I gotta pair today for one of my bando bangers and anxious to go analog after being spoiled with my DJI HD lol
My guess is that his IPD falls outside of the range Fatshark designed the Attitudes to, and that's why he can't get them to focus despite his perfect vision. I have the same issue. My IPD is 73, and while I do have Fatshark HDOs, and can't quite get both screens in focus at the same time. If I shift the goggles slightly left or right, then I can get one or the other eye perfectly in focus, but not both at the same time.
Awesome video, but now I’m even more undecided between the Scout and Fatshark. As of now there is the v6 from Fatshark, do you know if the v6 is better than the v5? This will be my first goggle purchase. What’s your recommendations. Thanks.
FXT Viper Box Goggles have my vote ^_^ . BUT! Those scouts do look pretty sweet. I own Fat Shark Dom V3 and FXT Viper and I end up wearing the Vipers more often than not.
Me2, I am checking every googles for very long time but still not convinced enough to buy any. Last Skyzones looks to be good for a price, but they have almost the same resolution, so I think there is no upgrade value there, and EV200D on the other side, have better resolution, but have some other issues. This one seems to have too small FOV and washed colours. Still waiting for the perfect budget. Meanwhile my 800d can run whole day with 3s adapter, 1 year old and everything works absolutely flawlessly.
@@addeckted88 i like the feeling of being immersed.. and i haven't gotten that from any goggle.. plus now that im using a fatshark battery case with 18650s , i can go all day.. plus the dvr on the 800ds are better than the fatshark.. which is kinda weird..

Once you're already in the game and you're looking at potentially buying a *new* pair of goggles, then sure, the value proposition of paying another hundred bucks for more features makes a lot of sense.
Awesome bringing in Paul to help with the review. No one should be shamed for the goggles they fly. I really like my ev200d goggles. If they had the support like fatshark I would recommend them for their screens at the $300 price. But they don't so I'm showing my son in law this video. Thanks Drew for this video 💖🤓

With dual screen goggles, you relax your eyes to focus each eye on each respective screen -- DON'T try to focus in on a "centre" (the centre is "cognitive" rather than "ocular").
Hey Paul! I have the same problem as you! I have to use really thin foam to get the goggles a tad closer to my eyes and problem solved.. the foam that came with the HDO’s didn’t work for me I had to use the old style thin foam

Great getting another perspective, which worked very well, but really the Recon's were and upgrade for size, name and DVR.... just an upgrade he didn't see spending for..... He would buy them over what he had in a second if starting fresh....That said, he played it right and got the upgrade he wanted in the better set. Great job guys!
I think the issue he was having wasn't that he couldn't focus, it's that the IPD adjustment doesn't go far enough to be able to see only a single image clearly. I had the issue where I couldn't get my Dominator SE goggle displays close enough. I modded them a while ago by cutting a bunch of plastic out with a scalpel to make them go as close as possible. They are perfect now. There are some nice goggle choices nowadays for if I was getting into it.
Josh Felts same... just checked the specs on rmrc and there’s no info on the polarisation :/ I assume it’s linear as they don’t specify but after saying that it’s probably not 😂
The Scout looks like a great option for people who like the single screen type. It's more compact than the EV800, which is a pretty good value box goggle, using it myself as well. The diversity and DVR are nice additions. Wish someone would give me one for flying down the stairs in my house with Mobula 7. ;-)
I have the same opinion as the dude in the vid on the form factor. After watching, I can absolutely justify the price of the Scout. Think I'll have to pull the trigger on those instead of another quad.
Take a look at second hand goggles. I got a pair of Attitude v3’s for £170 (~$215) and I love them compared to my box goggles (Eachine VR006). Got mine from eBay UK but I’m certain they’ll be around elsewhere also
Diversity is only a plus if you can put the antennas you want on them. Otherwise it's just kind of.. there. I'd probably solder an rp-sma Port into there coming out the goggle and either leave the patch connected or snip it off. Which is why I guess I'd prefer to spend 70$on fatshark base SD goggles.35 degree fov.. Wire em into a ground station with stationary antennas, and/or wire in any receiver.
His eyes do look set a little wide and he may not have the 20/20 he thought he did. Maybe it's time to get them checked again because his near vision may be off. Diopters would resolve that. If he avoided the dominator style because of some burn-in thing regarding the eyes, how is looking at a single screen in a box goggle any different?
My ipd is really narrow. Sky zone o2 where the only goggles at the time I was able to focus. Until the hdos. Just enough, and I’m able to use them. His ipd might be wider then available on the attitudes.
great video guys! i have the recon v2 goggles and love them! they have the aomway cloverleaf on them now... however like homie paul im looking at the scouts as well!
I have a similar problem with most HD FatSharks... My IPD needs to be adjusted further in that they allow. HDOs work for me. Same with the old DomV2s... but I can't use HD1, HD2... and HD3 kinda works, but not a perfect focus. That might be your friend's problem here.
Had the same issue with my sight (astigmatism), but managed to get used to HDO's. Just needed to adjust those (no diopter lenses). Firsty I thought I just can't fly dual eyepieces gogles.
I have good vision except I need readers to see close up. Usually 2.5. Which diopters should I get for my Fat Shark Dominator HDs? I have trouble seeing with them. I’ve been making it work but I wish I could see clearer while flying and am not sure what diopter lenses to get. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for the videos.
why haven't they done a box goggle that takes modules. Thats the only thing bo goggles are missing for people that prefer box goggles. I fly hd3s now... only because of the module choices
I got the Foxeer T-rex camera and it has 1500tvl of resolution. that's pretty fantastic, but practically no goggles have that kind of vertical resolution. DJI v2's have like 900 lines. Some headsets have 1200 lines. I wish there were a headset with quad diversity analog receivers, a 1200-1500 line OLED or two for less than $500.
With my Fat Shark HD3s, using the NBD foam, I found out that if I tighten the strap so the foam compresses a bit, I actually can get all of the screen into focus. Until I discovered that, I thought blurry around the edges, making any OSD info you crammed into the corners very difficult to read, was as good as it gets. Apparently the eyeball to screen distance has to be in a pretty narrow range for the dual screen, low profile fat shark's displays to focus correctly like Drew said. Per my experience, I 'd suggest anyone having issues trying to get a good, all over focus with dual screen goggles, should probably try tightening and loosening the strap to see if it helps.
Tbh, I prefer box goggle than HDO style goggle. But since there is stereotip says that HDO style goggle is better or pro version, its create a gap between user, although in the end its about personal choice, not about pro or not.
Hi im new to fpv seen it for the first time a few weeks ago at a drift show. I was watching a guy film the cars with his fpv drone started looking it up when i got home. Ive flown a few drones line of sight before but i want to try fpv. For my first lot of gear do you think a tinyhawk 2 freestyle, taranis x9 lite and eachine ev800d would be a good start or should i go with some fat shark attitude v5.
Honestly these all seem like a downgrade from the Fatshark Transformer (box goggle), you get diversity and the ability to swap antennas. Used them for 2 years until I upgraded to used Hd2. Also are the scouts true diversity ?
I just got a Recon V2 the other day, I think it is still a better option over the V3 because of the screen. Most cameras use a 4:3 video (same as the V2), but the V3 screen is a 16:9, which is cool if you watch your DVR on your phone, but the camera options isn't that great.
I've been looking around. I wear glasses and don't want to constantly take them off as a beginner to go get the drone. I think I am sold on the Scout as a first legit pair of goggles.

Do patch antennas not need to be LHCP/RHCP like the circular antennas? They work together without issues?
Hi im new to fpv seen it for the first time a few weeks ago at a drift show. I was watching a guy film the cars with his fpv drone started looking it up when i got home. Ive flown a few drones line of sight before but i want to try fpv. For my first lot of gear do you think a tinyhawk 2 freestyle, taranis x9 lite and eachine ev800d would be a good start or should i go with some fat shark attitude v5.
The Fatshark Scouts are amazing.. if you stuff an Eachine RHCP antenna on em.. try it.. trust me doubled my range..
This was very helpful and thank you for this. Started with Eachine Novice 3 and looking into an upgrade...
theses guys are so sponsored by fatshark he said his friend Paul has a off brand, but its actually eachine goggles.
Honestly these all seem like a downgrade from the Fatshark Transformer (box goggle), you get diversity and the ability to swap antennas. Used them for 2 years until I upgraded to used Hd2. Also are the scouts true diversity ?
Which one is more make-up friendly?
I just got a Recon V2 the other day, I think it is still a better option over the V3 because of the screen. Most cameras use a 4:3 video (same as the V2), but the V3 screen is a 16:9, which is cool if you watch your DVR on your phone, but the camera options isn't that great.
I've been looking around. I wear glasses and don't want to constantly take them off as a beginner to go get the drone. I think I am sold on the Scout as a first legit pair of goggles.
