As a black guy, it is weird for me to hear donell talk about black people like this. It sounds like he really believes everything he says and i would hope that that’s not the case. I can’t tell if he is being genuine or not, but if he is, bad optics and cringe

Lol that’s funny but also quite sad. I get not wanting to have the ugly duck dish at a party, but I’d still try it and make the person feel like they contributed positively. Assuming it’s at least safe to eat, and not total and I mean total pigslop lol. I guess black ppl are far stricter with standards of food 😆🙂‍↔️😩

Donnell is really smart and logical when navigating race with someone like Theo growing up where he did. I know what's up cause I'm his age and grew up like 30 minutes from where he's from.
Donnell knew to probe his awareness of it and how much he has come to term with by now. Cause it's almost 100% that a poor white kid from Louisiana was exposed to plenty of racism and has their own stereotypes they've picked up from their environment. It's not hate it's ignorance for the most part. There are plenty that let that ignorance lead to hate, but usually it's not understanding how to he sensitive to certain topics.

You're not wrong. I always make fun of the way my friend says "axe" instead of "ask" and I know it's a black thing, but we've known each other for so long that we just laugh about it. I'm sure if I were to publicly say that a lot of black people say "ask" weird then I would for some reason be called racist, or that I'm promoting a racist talking point. I always laugh off jokes made about white people, I don't understand why it's frowned upon to do it the other way around, as if people are insinuating black people are thin skinned or can't take a joke.
