    I fly most of the Volantex/Eachine Warbird Series using a Radiomaster TX16S OpenTX powered radio (A very good radio you should try, as it also does DSMX and will fly your favourite large models) using the V761 Protocol 4ch Sub Protocol setting ch5 as the modes switch. Your yellow Jumper with the latest firmware should do the same. Then you can play with rates and expo. The radios that come with the V761 series are interchangeable and will bind with all of them also. I fly the Supercub, P-51, F4u and the F22. I love the series. Being British I am crying out for them to make a Spitfire too. My favourite is the P-51. The Trojan has been on order since you released this video and is yet to arrive. Superb products and your videos are great too. I have literally watched them all and they have helped me so much. Keep it up and thanks from the UK

      I think this is the best of the warbird series. It's nice with the nose gear, to resolve some of the issues I had with the F4U Corsair regarding prop strikes.

    You mentioned the clunky wheels on this t28. These are the same clunky wheels used by Volantex. I replaced mine with the wheel set from the WLToys F949 Cessna 180. I swapped the entire rear landing gear, same size wire but less flex. These F949 wheels are smaller, a little wider, and have an inner plastic bushing which allows them to roll better. Spend the 5 bucks and enjoy!

    Good review. I always enjoy your vids. I would just ask one thing for the future. If you could during the flights show how slow some of the park flyers can get slowed down that would be appreciated. It is nice for some of us to know how a park flyer slows down and reacts in slow near stall characteristics. For me personally when I fly at my house here in ohio I look for that aspect on my backyard flyers. Thanks for your vids and enjoy our ohio fall season!

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Noted! I agree too. I can say these planes DON'T slow down much, and if it's windy at all, you need to keep them flying. THAT BEING SAID - you CAN cut in a fixed flap and make a small elevator correction and fly then at hear half speed if you need to fly in a smaller environment. You can ALSO cut the ends off the prop and shorten them a bit to change the power situation to help some.
      Just my two cents - Good luck ;)

    This is another great Eachine mini Warbird. Already have the p51 mustang with the f4u Corsair on order.
    PS. I am a beginner with planes (flown quads/drones for years) and it was easy to learn with the Trojan and Mustang. The volantex super cub 500 is also good. It's a bit slower and glides better Overall I think the mustang is the best since it is also most durable.

    • @gimpman1357
      @gimpman1357 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Edward Newman Yes I have the t-28 as well. It’s as good as the mustang. I’ve had no issue with durability with either but my feeling is the mustang is a bit more durable. ie. thicker wings especially where they meet the body. I learned with the mustang so had a few hard crashes into the ground and a few times into a concrete pole (nose first and wing first). I hand launch so I don’t use the landing gear and always do belly flop landings on grass. No damage still flies great.

    i have the p40,and f4u,and just picked the t28 up and flew it yesterday. I feel this plane flies the best. It does seem more fragile in the nose area becuase I have railed the several p40 that ive had into various static objects and they held up better (bending the gear shaft and adding too much weigt during reasembly is what killed the first two p40),I hit hte t28 on a roof and it damaged the nose and pulled the edge of the battery compartemnt door/landing gear up. The thing i have found that kills these planes is bending that gear shaft due to a hard impact which is unfortunate because these planes are so much fun.

    Is there any difference between the T-28 made by Eachine and the one made by Volantex?

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't know what a TX6e - answer would be no. It's a RTF (ready to fly) so it operates in a different protocol from a DX6e. The DX6e is DSMX or DSM2, while this plane is whatever protocol Eachine was using that day. There are some that have bound these little guys to OpenTX (Multi protocol) Transmitters, but I would never suggest a beginner try to tackel this, as it would be terribly frustrating.

I have a question\problem; I was not able to get the T28 with the extra batteries with my order, so I ordered new extra batteries (3.7v 400mAh) separately. It appears that the extra batteries "crap-out" after flying maybe 10 seconds at close to full throttle (at less than half throttle the batteries last a long time). The battery that came with the plane does not have this problem (no problem flying for long durations at full throttle). Is this a known phenomenon (is there something that I am doing wrong? I am using the charging cable that came with the plane), or am I the lucky one?

      I want to say I can tell you, but I suspect your charger is NOT working. Can you look into this?
      Does the Voltage of the CHARGED pack show 4.20 VDC??? If it's lower than 4.20 VDC, then it's more than likely the charger is your issue. START there, and if you can try another brand of lipo, maybe that will correct the issue.
      P.S. We just flew ours tonight again, and what a blast. This little plane is great!

    Hi Brian ! I'm about to join my local club ,they have a beautiful place in the industrial park with different landing surfaces
    and tables and all ... I like the UMX tubo timber but is it a good trainer ? Since I have all that space , should I go with a larger Timber ? Anyones advice is welcome ...

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a good plane to learn with, but if you really want to start at a cheaper point, maybe think about he Sport Cub S2 UMX ( Sport Cub S2 UMX bit.ly/2OqnYUK ). It's a lot cheaper, BUT will be limited to next to no wind. The Turbo Timber UMX ( Turbo Timber UMX bit.ly/3fxTDQd ) is a GREAT plane, but it's way more complex, and more easy to damage. Also, you'll need a transmitter, batteries, and chargers...so you'll be in it for maybe $600 or so by the time you buy everything you need to enjoy it right.
      Just a thought, but either way you'll enjoy the experience. I just want to keep you flying for many years, not one plane ;)
      Sorry for the very slow reply...it's been a crazy couple weeks. I'm usually much faster than that, so I hope I didn't miss the boat with the advice.

      You have to SCREW them on. It's super easy. Just brace the gear set with a small screw driver, and unscrew it, then screw on the new one. It's not super hard, but be careful not to rip the motor out of the motor mount. If you DO, you'll be doing some simple surgery ;)

    Dear all, I own all Eachine mini warbirds like this T28, P51, F16, and F4U Corsair. However, somehow after just two flights, my T28's elevator got stuck and will not move (seems to be a servo issue). Does anyone who also owns this T28 also have this issue? How do I get it fixed? Thanks!!

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      First, try taking the mechanical load off the elevator. This can be done by pulling the control horn off the servo, or just pulling the linkage OUT of the elevator...does it move now? If it goes away, fix the bind in the elevator. IF it doesn't, then you need to set your trim to CENTER in EXPERT mode...on the ground if it weren't already clear. If this doesn't do it, then you need to disconnect the elevator servo and plug the elevator servo into another port (like the rudder or aileron) and see if the servo moves. If it doesn't (make sure you're moving the RUDDER stick..not the elevator this time), then you've confirmed your ELEVATOR servo is bad. If it DOES move, then you probably have an issue with your multipurpose receiver brick, and you're kinda screwed...now you have to figure out if you're gonna try for a return or what you want to do... You can also DOUBLE confirm it's bad by plugging in a known good servo to the ELEVATOR port and seeing if it moves the RUDDER, for example....
      You kinda need to do some digging to see where your problem is.
