@@DeanofMachines I gotta buff mine again soon. Haven’t done it in a few years and it’s getting chalky again. Just takes more paint off the more I do it
Some colors tended to get associated with certain brands back in the day when you actually could choose something other than white, black and some sort of grey. The powder blue was definitely one I associated with Volvos.
Lol buffer in the dirt, calm down! i have long been a proponent of leaving on the protective layers of dirt for as long as possible, it filters out the uv here
Nice one Dean, 4-5 hours polishing a parts car........🤕 Please show us some dedication will ya? We use to call it Vattenfall blue Research that one mate🤔 thanks for all ya hard yakka
First step is to get the windows and doors open, pull the seats and carpet and start drying everything out before mold starts to take it. Then drain the gas, drain the oil, drain the transmission fluid AND the rear differential. Pop the valve cover off and the spark plugs out and soak it all inside and out with WD40. pull the ECU/EZK out and make sure there's no water in them, they SHOULD be sealed but sometimes they get water in them from a windshield leak. Fix her up thats far too good to be a parts car....eventually everybody will buy a parts car and there will be none left for people who are just getting into old and classic cars to enjoy.
Patina is in these days with old cars just preserve it😊
I don’t think it’s a secret, but we love patina around here.
I still have my 1991 Volvo 240 station wagon from when my wife and I were first married.. Looks great and runs better than ever before.

@@vicmabus1532 They have a very timeless look to them Id say.
Even “filler content” is good, because we all get to hang out with Dean.

It has to be Volvo. It’s a perfect color for the brand!
I hope you make it a runner again, such a nice body. Can it be titled?
@@mortimergladbreath it can be registered in the state of GA.

Thank you!!
Plans with how to fix the spots where paint was removed?
The spots where its sun faded badly would require a repaint. I probably wouldn’t do that any time soon.

I agree! This one had plenty of great parts for the green 83 242 we have! Fortunately I have plenty of parts to modernize this 245!
