with the weather getting warmer and alot of us painting in garages, would love to see more at home videos!
Brian, you are an amazing teacher. I have been watching your videos for a while and I have learned so much. I was able to paint my wife's silver rav4. You rock man.
Wow, I wish I knew this before I attempted to fix the roof of my Bimmer (Titanium Silver), yes the metallic particles highlight everything, including sanding scratches and the finest imperfections where the primer meets the paint!!!
Don’t you just love e36/46’s 😉😃
The noise canceling sounds great
Took long enough right.
I have learned so much from you Brian, the way you explain things is absolutely priceless. Just want to say thanks man. 👍
Thank you for that😀😀😀
Don't look any where else
He's the greatest instructor! 😉
You're A great instructor, Brian. Great blend as always. Looks great!
Another fantastic job, Brian!
Another great video ! thank you Brian you are the best ❤
Great video.Am learning every day. This is how I want my job to look like.Neat and professional.Thank you Brian
the best paint channel on the web thanks Brian
Excellent job Brian Thank you..
Brian, great content as usual. Your explanation was super clear. And the noise canceling was nice although I don't mind the swishing of the gun. Thanks!
Yet another informative video. Thanks soooo much
Great nstructions on primer vs sealer. I have been interested in this and it is very clear the difference 👍
Thanks for sharing and this really helps me learn
Absolutely great way to learn. You are top man!!! Explanation perfect. I wish you had more videos on hvlp machines and guns you use. And how to use.
Yes B! I started w ya on your spray can vids...easy to keep up w you now...appreciate the knowledge...nice ebb n flow w the gun...cheers mate
Thank you!
Like the clarity of the noise cancelling. Like the job result too.
I like the noise cancelling. 👍🏻
Sealer is your friend,i have used the same brand as you are since 1993!!! Great Products!!!
Absolutely insane 🤩
Tips are apreciated. Audio is very good.
Glad you think so!
Love the noise canceling version....As always great tips and content Brian...
Don't overthink it's just Paint
Glad you like. It sounds a bit weird to me but if you like it I will do it more !
Invaluable information...Two Thumbs WAY UP.
Much appreciated!
Love the Dr stash man
Amazing job
The primer sealer and color blender combo is next level man . I don't see alot of pros doing this
AMAZING !!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Yes I am going to be listing the speedokote color blender on amazon as its the only one available online

Would tamco hc895 intercoat clear be the same thing? Says it can be used as wetbed?
@@BiggMoInc73 if you want to pay 40 more dollars sure.
Ours is100 free shipping.
Only reason asking was because I have leftover 895 from using as pearl carrier, but yes, I need to save money on materials!!!!
Brian, great results.
Glad you think so!
Another great video
Another great video Brian. Had I had an instructor like you I would have probably had a different career. Great instructor!
Wow, thanks!
great results as always. I'm so thankful I found you and Mario's channels. Helped me a ton!
Great to hear!
First real comment. Thanks for the info, Brian. Noise canceling audio sounded great.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great informative video! Question a bit off topic but what cartridge do you use in you mask please 👍
Nice one Brian, how does this compare using water based base
I am redoing an engine compartment. It has a couple areas that are bare metal.
Would you spot the bare metal areas
with primer and then use sealer on the whole compartment?
Would you spot the bare metal areas, sand the existing paint and then paint over the existing paint and spotted areas?
I could use some advice how you would prepare and finish this type of situation.
Always enjoy the videos. Thank you
Morning been spraying cars .mostly classics for 30yrs and still learning
That is awesome!
I have a question for you Brian. I hear you say all the time about using extra slow or slow reducer. I live in PA and sometimes it gets pretty cold here. My garage is not heated with the exception of a space heater and then a few propane heaters. But even with that the metal on the car itself never really gets real warm. What reducer would you recommend? Love your videos by the way.
hey brian, will silver metallic show 1000 grit scratches?
and what happens if you use sealer without clear base? what happens at those sealer edges?
Cool thank you!!
Is clear base just regular clear coat you intend to spray over or is clear base some different product to buy ??? And noise cancelling is good.
Could you please do a video on the difference between HVLP and HP spray guns and when to use each?
Today, I used tintable bulldog adhesion promoter as a sealer this way. It worked pretty well. Is there any reason why that might not be a great idea? I know its not really meant for that
The noise cancelling is good... the paint job even better! :)
Glad you think so!
When I spray multiple parts with sealer or primer in the booth, by the time I get to the last couple parts they will have overspray dust on them. Should I tack rag it before spraying the primer or not worry about it?
which gun is suit best for you iwata base series2 or DV1 base?
Does this clear base work for Sherwin Williams paint as well ¿
Best of the best
Well Brian, I blew it on the hood for my digeline. I have wet sanded it down but still looks blotchy. I was thinking of hitting it hard with 600 ordering a quart of duplicolor taffeta white premixed and grabbing a spray gun from harmor freight and spraying it at home. Ideas?
Wow excellent
Any experience with UPOL primer/sealer?
Nice 👍 job 💯
Great video
Thanks Mario! 😀
How much primer do i need for a 94 Chevy Ext. Cab Silverado
Great tip on applying the clear base directly after the sealer. definitely going to give this a go on tomorrow's job.
Good luck!
What is additive clear coat and how to use it
Hi Brian. Great explanation. Silver can be a tough one. The job came out sweet. Looked to be smokin hot in the booth. Time for a beverage. Enjoy your weekend with your beautiful family.
One of the hottest weeks in florida. 3 shirts changes in one night. As always thanks for the positive comments. Cant wait to spend time with my boys 😀
Refurbishing alloy aluminum wheels. I'm using epoxy primer then primer sealer. Sprayed too far away, and epoxy primer has a rough texture, so gray 3m scotchpad then even coat of sealer. Painting wheels gloss black with VHT wheel paint. Can I use 2k clear, or should I use VHT Wheel clear gloss, Brian? Basecoat is Black gloss VHT wheel paint. Thanks
Is there any kind of reducer that can be added to lacquer too slow it's drying process down every time I spray lacquer it dry so fast. By the time I start the hood and get to the other side the first sides already almost dry
Just use extra slow reducer and follow up with orientation coat has shown in the video if it is hot in the Booth and as for spraying the whole car or large areas you can use or apply the leap frog method meaning paint a panel or door in the driver side and then to the other side of the passenger area until you finish everything
I like the noise canceling
Is clear base just clear coat being used as a base coat?
I’ve had issues before where aerosol primer or base coat has been used 😵💫.
This then leads to a crazed edge that you will always be chasing.
Hence the need for sealer in this scenario. Exactly why I try not to touch metallics. 🫢
Admittedly I still use 2k , generally stick to solid colours and don’t use base coat and lacquer just a gloss top coat .
For better or for worse I still prefer to give a car a good coat of primer, flat off and then a first coat of colour, that way it’s so much easier to see any imperfections especially when filler has been used as it has a tendency to shrink or wear away quicker than steel , leaving a low spot. it also reduces the chance of missing awkward spots.
After the paint has cured, flat off and give it a final colour coat .
Sometimes I don’t even use primer at all if no steel is exposed .
Admittedly I only generally paint my own stuff and race cars still manage a good finish so luckily have the option of yeah that’s ok .
Painting is an art and a very skilled underrated profession .
seemed like you put the clear base over the fresh sealer without waiting for the sealer to flash off. Sometimes I get bleedthrough of the sealer solvents into the topcoat if dont give sealer enough time to flash. Maybe it dont matter with clear base? Love this channel!
you have to put it on ASAP otherwise it won’t do the job. We’re dealing with extreme heat and Florida so the edges dry extremely quick. Remember you can always lightly sand after it it Dries.
I have a few questions but it’s about clear coat.
Got a weird question maybe. I've been seeing a lot of YT shorts of spray guns with the built in (sun?) lights. What do you think of them? Would you use one or do you consider them a gimmick? It seems like you'd get better use of one of those sun lights afterwards. You don't really have enough time to examine an area while spraying. It just seems like unnecessary heft to the spray gun while spraying.
They work great. Also if you have limited lightning. They help. No gimmick
Super.
Brian, I notice no 4600?
So what would be Primer Surfacer
I feel like it's easier to get coverage for color when sealing 👍
perfect
You can only use clear base to soften the sealer edge if you are spraying solvent.. please don’t try this method if you are spraying water!!!
What is clear base ?? Can someone explain ? How can i do a clear base
for me, the noise cancelling sounds digitized and cuts some words too low in volume especially at a further distance from the mic. for me it's harder to hear on my crappy laptop speakers lol.
great blend job, I wish I could send you my truck to repaint, but I'm all the way in vegas.
Definitely a lot better with noise canceling on.
Noise canceling 👍
Great job! The noise canceling in my opinion makes the voice sound "compressed" and you lose a bit of clarity sometimes.
Noise cancelation best
Amazing videos. But should this video have been made a while ago?
You should do a video like kandy man, where he shows what epoxy and how to paint bare metal, like a peeler job,
He made a great video. His shop is top notch and i learn alot of him
Great video as always Brian! I'm learning a lot! Next time leave out the Smurf music! :)
Is clear base used to create a uniform surface over the blend from sealer to scuffed original finish?
Yes.
Good tips for the primer edges, that alone can kill the whole job.
And it has burned me before
👍
Hey just wanted to tell you the TDS for your sealer is 100-25-35 sealer is not 3.1.1 pls check that out and you will see how your sealer is going to improve so much more and is going to be even smoother I guarantee it
You are right. I check the tds. Usually we mix it on the scale anyways and it gives us the correct factory mixing ratio. Ty for the comment.
@PaintSociety hey you're welcome man I train people from all-over the country and I know your system very well and I love your channel!
@@josemsm there are times that we dont mix on the scale and it gets 3:1:1. This Definitely is going to help. Cant wait to dial it in.
@PaintSociety you guys should always mixit on the scale not only for precision but also for job cost management because if you are doing an insurance job we can increase the price of materials "on paper" by 30% to make the job even more profitable. I know you don't always use akzo products but when you do make sure you mix on the scale for your department to be more profitable.
@@josemsm great info !
great video Brian, ps.. diet looks to be going well you must be off them pizza,s :)
Ty yes. I have made some subtle changes to the eating habits and intake which have improved my way of life. Thanks for noticing 😀
What is the procedure to apply a solvent-borne bace coat?
A. Adjust fluid delivery, The spray 3 dry coats.
B. Adjust fluid delivery, then spray full wet coats.
C. Adjust air pressure, adjust pattern then spray 3 medium dry coats.
D. Adjust Air pressure, adjust fan pattern, then spray medium wet coats,
Answer?
Answer me
What’s up no Paint Society suit?
Good catch. I spilt paint all over my last one but I have a fresh one. Next video.
But if you cleared it then removed the paper......
..... wouldn't that suck if the color match wasnt dead on?
Now be forwarned. I'm not a painter. Im an observer 😉
Would you not be better off pulling the paper, checking the color match before clearing it?
Since its a blend and theres no color at the edge. It will match without checking
I would have taken the sealer all the way to the windshield for sure.
Instant regret once I laid the base
Noise cancelling making your voice a bit thin, maybe it can be dialed down a little bit?
It takes away from the fullness of my voice. Its a trade off. Not the biggest fan. No settings otherwise for it
@@PaintSociety It's still worthy improvement to NC especially when your talking during the job 🙌
#hepoops
No noise cancel...normal is better
Don’t think I’ve seen you use clear base? before…
Almost every video
stop with the sealer and prep your panels properly !
Brian you did a fantastic job as always, but being as anal as I am about things, I would be so sad about the results because I can see a difference in gradience between the front door and the door you painted. Silver is NOT easy
Very nice work but still an ugly vehicle. I have painted three cars so far but have watched and picked up tips that I will employ when I paint my 67 Parklane in SS.
With such a wrinkled and ugly car, no one will notice the nice paint job. Everybody is looking away.
Someone recommend me a paint shop in Michigan. I need to paint my two doors and this is my first time and I kinda lost
Супер !!!
