    I dont know If there is that kind of interior colour here in sweden. As in swedish model of 240 that year. Cool video as allways

      I hope more folks will chime in. It may only be an early model color!

      They are very easy to do. If its an older 240 itll be mostly phillips.

    I may be an outlier but i loved the tan interior with the green interior! Great work as always though. Keep going!

    Nice one Dean!
    If the backseat start fading you could always put on black seat covers, there are some pretty good ones out there in cover land😉

      Thats a good idea. Also, recently I found a source for seat fabric! Just have to strip the old seats and reinstall

      We have slow but steady growth and a really great group of subscribers. I don’t aim for clickbait or gimmicky videos. That leaves the internet with us and our old quirky cars!! Good news is that keeps only the best subscribers coming to the channel. Have a great day!

    Man, I almost destroyed my headliner trying to remove it from my 244, the fact that you were able to remove it from that 242 with very little damage to it is amazing. Of course the other side of it is that I have no idea what I am doing most of the time and just make it up as I go along.

    • @DeanofMachines

      It’s easy to do. Even mine was a bit crumbly. 40 years of life will do that I suppose

    Dean, need to show us the inside of the new parts shed full of Volvo and other goodies. Hopefully, the code enforcement folks are leaving you alone for a while. Would like to see you finish up the 242 Turbo, been a while since we've seen it in the garage 😀

    • @DeanofMachines

      Currently I'm working on getting parts into projects that have been waiting to go in. This way I don't have to put the in the shed LOL. I am also waiting on shelving. Soon though, soon...

    Pre-1980 C pillar covers work in the 1980-84 242s, btw. Have a pair of 242GT covers in my '82. Some from a 242DL or a 142 will work fine as well. Just shoot them with either the Duplicolor or SEM vinyl paint, then install them in place of the exploded tan plastic pieces.

    definitely the ”long” rear light. Turbo and GLT 244s in Sweden has black instead of chrome on them. I used to modify them so all three lights was lit and had breaklight to. 5/21watt lamps.

    That spray paint may start to flake off when people are using the seats. It could also come off when people are rubbing in it but idk

    Never for the hate for tan interior when it's clearly the best 240 interior color aside from maybe red which is otherwise unobtainable. Blue is cool but only works with a couple exterior colors

    • @DeanofMachines

      I like the blue but I can’t stand the tan!!! I have mixed feelings about the black interior in this one.

  • @601Volvo

    I thought the headliner would just be a soft vinyl with aluminum spanner bars, luckily my 245 was easy.

    • @DeanofMachines

      The 245 headliner is fabric hung by bars. Makes it real easy!!

  • @BushidoDriver

    No problem dying interiors, the problem is using parts store "paint" it pays down too thick and leaves fabrics crunchy, not sure about longevity.
    The correct product is Color Coat by SEM. Goes on ridiculously thin, doesn't make fabrics hard and holds up like a champ. Properly applied you couldn't tell its not oem.

    • @DeanofMachines

      @@BushidoDriver I might have to give that a shot some day! You aren’t the first to suggest SEM

  • @RobReynolds

    Do you need to seal that paint to stop it rubbing off onto people's clothes?

    • @Kalleankasbarn

      When I've used that stuff, I've not needed too, I've had my seats vinyl painted for 3 yrs, leather and I've had no issues.
      I will say PREP IS KEY.
