I will be using a Dash Cam from now on in the upcoming videos (again); turns out a lot of y'all prefer dash cam view. Also, I will have the gopro video (what I use to film these videos at the moment) off to a side viewing window. Heads up: This weekend I will be showing my 2017 Camaro SS and 2017 Yamaha R6 so look forward to my thoughts & opinions of owning both of those beasts.
I own a 2017 2LT rs convertible, I saw a 1ss go for a few grand more than mine but one of the main reasons was cost. Sure they may be very close in cost but look at insurance, tax, fuel economy and cost of maintenance. Sure v8’s May be better but in the long run, it’s more practical to have a v6 over the v8. Not to mention the fact that you don’t need 455 bhp, 335 is still gonna get me from a to b and the 2LT has all the luxuries of the ss with less cost long term. I am 2LT and proud. But then again that’s just my opinion.
KarolGames 9510 you can have both that’s why they offer it stop trying to stop people from buying this and wanting for them to buy a car they don’t want
Most people who get the v6 and i4 engines use these cars as their daily drivers. Some people need the comforts that come with the 2lt, some could live without it. Its as simple as that. But most of the camaros i see on the roads are base models
yep, my neighbor has a base model. he tries to f l e x with it but gets called out, i asked him why the i4 and not the v6 or 8 and he said it was for gas
I just bought a 2018 1SS 6 Speed yesterday (traded in a 2014 Mustang V6 Premium 6 Speed for it, plus a good downpayment), and it will be my daily driver
the justification for the 2LT V6 (vs SS) is if you are on a budget, live in the city, and use this car as your daily driver the v8 burns too much $$ (considering only using the full potential of the V8 on a race track or thru way without the police harassing you), at the same time the car will be fully loaded for your comfort - hope this helps
Go buy a prius if you care about gas mileage and not getting pulled over as easily. Getting a v6 camaro or sports car in general is a joke. If someone is on a budget and cant afford to fill up a sports car then there's plenty of other vehicles that are gonna offer nicer interior and better gas mileage than the v6 camaro for the same price and in many cases actually cheaper.
I bought my 2LT (RS pkg, sunroof, Bose sound) for $27,741. When you say it's a ripoff, you're only going by MSRP, not the actual purchase price. My V6 may not perform as well as you V8, but it's got all the power I'll ever need along with the superior handling we all enojoy in our Camaros.
The v6 is still a sports car and it performs well. As well as any car would need to for the person who is going to drive it daily and never hit the track. 335 hp is legit. No it isn't a demon but I see videos of guys wrecking those high hp cars all the time. Some cars were made for the track. Some were made for the street. Buy accordingly. I own an lt with the rs package. It's wonderful for what I use it for. Hell, the v8 that it replaced only had around 280 hp. Hp isn't everything to everybody. It still drives like a sports car. Not like a honda or a Camry.
Right? Im suprised how the v6 performs the same as the charger/challenger rt with the 345 hemi. 0-60 in 5.1 sec while running on regular in a v6. Not bad if you ask me
I love the thought of having an SS Camaro but at this moment it's smarter to get a V6 (for me personally). I would rather get the Camaro with luxury bits (2LT), simply because I love Camaros V8 or not but I also love a luxury feel and since I am under the age of 25, car insurance will kick my ass for having an SS. I want to be able to enjoy my Camaro without insurance breaking the bank.
True Camaros are more expensive than ever, but they have really stepped up their game for the new generation. Handling, luxury and of course power are all better than ever.
Quinn Kirlew you have a good point, in 1997, you could get a Z28 Convertible for 26,995. we need the Z28 back.and GM could price it between the 1LT and 1SS. gm makes bad decisions at times.
@@FedoraQuilava87Music the 1SS now is what the 90's era Z28 was, the base V8 model. There was a 2014 and 2015 Z28, but it was no comparison to the 80s or 90s Z28. It had a 505hp 7.0L V8, and was more comparible to the original 60s Z28 with the DZ302
I suspect GM is going to try and compete with it's European and Japanese rivals in the 2 door sports car market on more than just a "well at least it's cheaper" proposition.
I just turned 25 and got a v6 camero off the lot used with 37k miles no co-signer and no help from my only parent I know... I drive every single day to work across town I didn’t want to buy a v8 just to have it parked at home asking for gas money I practically help pay my step dads entire house .... if you can afford the v8 awesome ... my situation I’m perfectly fine with a v6 $20,000 camero nearly perfect condition
I got my 2017 2LT 1LE for $34k brand spanking new. That was a price I could not turn down considering that package goes for about $42-$45k. My insurance went down, and my highway miles are ridiculously good. Sure, I'm not the fastest guy in town, but the car looks great, and outperforms 95% of other vehicles in corners. Do I wish it was a V8? Yes, but that was out of my price range in a 1LE package, and it's nothing a pro-charger can't fix.
Gotta say the 1LE package is a really good pick for the V6 especially on the track. The V8 is so beautiful sounding but it's a bit more costly. Eats up gas, costs waaay too much if your not 25+, and maintenance is a little bit more costly too. I say the V6 Camaro with the 1LE package is a true steal of you ask me.
I was going to get the 2ss and changed my mind and got the 2lt. Why you may ask - the 2ss costs almost $500 more per month on gas...I drive 50+ miles per day and at 16miles per gallon.... that would be a little steep. Second insurance costs increase. The fully loaded v6 is still really powerful and looks exactly the same as the SS when fully loaded.
ill go for the all options, i dont need the v8 when the v6 is pretty fast and enough for every day driving, ill take a Camaro over any bmer, plus remember insurance is lower then v8, 2lt is a great choice, love having leather and all the gadgets makes it less boring
main reason someone would want a 2lt would be insurance if your'e someone like me in my low 20s a lower insurance rate is one reason I could see, but looking around on craigslist I found a 1ss with 6000 miles for $30000 which is definitely a bargain
I'm planning on getting a 2LT v6 Camaro and use it as a daily driver. Although, the SS versions are pretty darn nice! But like I said, I'll be using the car as a daily driver and as of today, 2LT's are way cheaper than the SS. I plan on getting a used 2LT ofcourse.
The 2ss is worth it for cameros idk why this mans is saying they aren’t u can get them cheep now and it’s worth the money because the interiors the best out of the 3 muscle cars
Car guys like myself would pick the v8 but then again some people like the looks of the sports car and want good gas milage to daily it. So non-car people will never pick the 1SS instead of the 2LT
True that. I can tell you this though, no man with a V8 will feel jealous of a 4 cylinder version of their car even if it has all the bells and whistles
Exactly. He is like virgin boy who is always excited. I used to drive fast cars at age 19-20. Now I'm 28, with a great job. I drive XC90. So comfy and relaxed all the time. If I wanna go fast, I rent a car.
Yeah. 300+ horse manual transmission. Leather in the Kalahari oh yeah. That dark grey exterior. 😮 plus cylinder deactivation ‘standing up clapping’ Better on insurance Uses regular gas. I could go on. It will never see a track. More then enough power for your commute.
I think the best v6 sports car you can buy is a used Nissan 370z. I bought mine a year ago for 24k for a 2014. It's loaded with almost every option. It just feels wierd to think about a muscle car with a v6.
Very true statement, besides a V6 pulling a car thats much lighter than the newer "Behemoth" muscle cars is much more understood. The cars like the Z and STI just have that better power to weight ratio for the V6. Personally I drive a 87 Monte Carlo SS, but have plenty of pals that rock Zs
For me it was about what I could afford and how long I wanted to save and go without a having a car. I have a 2016 V6 2LT RS, that I got for $23,000 with only 24,787 miles on it with every option including quad pipes and I love the car. When I was searching for a new car I knew I did not want to finance, so the car had to be in the right price range, I could not afford a V8 at the time. I did know before I bought my 2016 Camaro that I would be trading it in for a 2SS after I saved a bit more. All I am doing now is waiting to see what the 2019 Camaro refreshed car will look like and then decide If I like it or not. If the refreshed car does not look good then I will buy a 2017 or a 2018 2ss. (That's the plan at least.) You can see my car on my page, I have since added 22 inch replica camaro wheels
CamaroNu-B take a look at the new 2019 version, just got featured. Looks like a Dodge Chargers retarded brother! 2016-2018 Camaro SS’s are the way to go.
Agreed. Price is not always a factor. For me, I got the 2LT V6 because luxury was more of a factor to me and performance was secondary. In MY OPINION, camaros aren't true muscle cars anymore, they've turned into more of a luxury sports car and that's exactly why I oped out for the 2016 Camaro V6. It's also great for insurance. I'm in my early 20s and live in Los Angeles California, I pay as much in insurance as my car payment.
I just walked out of the dealership with a 2018 SS1 for 22k out the door... I have no idea what the HELL they were thinking, I legit feel like I committed robbery or something. I was not gonna settle with the 2.0 Turbo... no way... I agree with your points.
See I own a 2012 1LT V6 RS and I do wish I got a 2LT because the technology would be a plus but honestly what gets me im the 2LT or 2SS is the interior lighting bigger screen and the heated and cooled seats. I’ve thought a lot about a 2LT V6 or 1SS and made up my mind to go used 1SS 6th gen. Really cloth isn’t that bad and the heated and cooled seats would be not be used much where I live.
You know what is the biggest rip off. A full option 2018 Ecoboost Mustang. It has a beautiful interior and magnetic suspension but it is still a 4 cylinder Mustang!!
I purchased a brand new 2018 2LT LGX MT in 2019 mainly because: 1. It's my daily driver 2. I didn't want to live at the gas pump 3. Lots of 2018s were still on the lot so I got a great deal 4. Was getting out of a luxury German brand that was hell to maintain 5. Plenty of power for me in this NA American brand vs the Turbo powered foreign brand I was leaving behind 6. Makes me smile every day😁
I know, this video is for a new car discussion. But I just bought a used 2lt V6 converteble with only 11k miles and I love it. My husband tried to talk me into getting a V8. I don't need all that muscle. V6 is fine and I love how it hugs corner. Very pleased with my new baby.
You are right. I own a 2017 LT Camaro and it is beautiful. I thank God for having it. However, I didn’t do my research properly and I really regret buying it. For about 5k more, I could have bought the SS. I would recommend to anyone interested in buying a Camaro to do a very good research. For me it is too late now. But I don’t lose hope of having an SS in the near future.
Cant believe no one's mentioned the fact that the V8s need premium fuel while the V6 runs fine on regular. The massive of a price difference for fuel is what makes me lean towards the V6. I'm fine with 335 horsepower, it's not like you can ever really use the full V8 power anyway unless you take your car to the track. V8s are more for bragging rights and V6s/I4s are more for efficiency for daily driving, cost savings, longer commutes. I know the I4 ruffled a lot of V8 Camaro purist's feathers but honestly, who cares?
I got a 1LT with everything a 2LT has except the leather seats, vented seats, and interior lighting I have everything else in mine and I love it, only $32,000 for my Camaro but I do agree with you the 2LT isn’t worth the almost 40k price tag
I’m looking at a Blue 2018 2LT Camaro (coupe). My reasoning for wanting the 2LT Camaro is that I love the exterior design of the 18 Camaro and the 2LT has that exterior design along with all of the interior features that I want. I noticed in your video you said you’re aimed more towards performance but I’m aimed more at design and (as you put it) luxury. That’s why I want the 2LT specifically because it offers the design that I’m into while also giving me the option to have those interior luxury features. I want a sun/moonroof, the safety features (like lane change, park assist, etc.) and the fancy technology like the radio display. I’ve put off getting it because when I first looked at one near me that had all of the features I wanted it was $40,000+. Now that I’ve waited so long it’s dropped about $10,000. I plan to wait until probably summer 2019 to get it so I think/hope it’ll drop more in price. But that’s why I’d get the 2LT myself. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You just enlightened me. Thank you, because I have literally been looking at 2LT Camaros for 2 days now. The 1SS and 330i in terms of performance or luxury are both better options.
I was able to pick up a new 2017 camaro 2lt v6 convertible for 30k out the door this summer (2018) so if the price is right I say its worth it. But i also wasnt trying to get all that v8 power.
So I bought a 2lt v6 camaro 2016 brand new in early 2017 so for me the price was equal to a base camaro, but also for a 16 year old insurance between v6 and v8 are decently different , then for a 16 year old driving around all the time and I have to pay for my own gas It would have been a lot, I also wanted to have all the new technology like the blind spot and all that, I would still say personally paying 28k for a 2lt if I was slightly older like 18 and found a 2ss for 35-37k and was how I wanted it. I would have gone with 2ss
i got a 2Lt RS.. I dont have to justify but the Fifty anniversary edition only comes in a 2LT... Ther is only going to be limited Fifty edition and there is not going to be alot of people owning same car as you have.
Bought 2018 1LT on july 6th of 2018. Paid $23,000 out the door. Tax tags etc... drive 100 + a day commuting from the Jersey shore to one of the 5 boroughs of NY. It's a blast !!! Average about 24 mpg . That was the deal maker. Awesome fun, and is fast enough to get in trouble.
When you factor in the insurance and running costs of bmw, or any luxury German brand, it becomes far more expensive than a comparable pony car. Especially over the long term. Also for people that want to daily the car in a 4 season / winter climate, having heated leather seats is a must, and we don’t want to see a V8 sports car get beaten up over the winter.
I’m picking up a brand new 2LT V6 tomorrow and have no concerns at all. It’s all about negotiation. MSRP is exactly that, Manufacturers SUGGESTED Retail Price. A suggestion. I have negotiated just over $13,000 off of the MSRP of my brand new 2LT using rebates, incentives and promotions. This makes it an absolute performance bargain. Speak with your dealership and work with them, amazing deals are out there to be had, you don’t need to pay MSRP.
I'm currently shopping for a 2016 Lt and the only reason I would go up to the 2lt is because of the HUD. The price gap for a used 2016 Lt and 2lt with 30k miles on both is about 5k. Still a rip off.
I personally am planning on purchasing a 2lt V6 Camaro this fall. I'm not making the purchase because "it's a Camaro". I'm making it because it's a RWD V6 sports car that's got decent fuel economy, doesn't require premium fuel and has two-zone automatic climate control with heated and cooled leather seats. It also has the option to get a nice Bose speaker system and Android Auto/Apple Carplay. All of this comes out to just under 32k. With the dual-mode exhaust setup, it's just under 33k. I have been saving up since my Subaru Impreza started rattling just a couple months into my owning it back in August 2016. Don't get me wrong, the Impreza was a FANTASTIC first car and I'm very grateful that I was able to get such a good deal on it (a young couple had bought it but the husband returned it like a week or two later since his wife had influenced his decision originally, so it was in pretty much perfect condition). Back then, I liked cars but I didn't have the appreciation for them that I do now and I feel like the 2lt trim is a good middle ground when it comes to sportiness to luxury (for lack of a better term) ratio. I do believe though, that no matter what car I have after my Impreza, I will have more fun than I currently do.
I thinks it’s for people that want to look like they drive a camaro instead of driving a real one. I although a bit different started my car search with four banger camaros because I wanted a dd that saved on gas. My car now is a v6 with bumblebee colors and I liked the power over the turbo but didn’t want to pay for premium gas.
Just purchased a 2017 2LT for 25k with 4852 miles and one year left on the warranty. From my perspective, a great price, showroom condition (never buy new, too expensive). You forget about drivers like myself in your review. I'm 65 yrs old and have been running my Cadillac ATS at Track Night in America for 5 years. grew up in the early 70's and always wanted to end up with a Camaro. It will be a daily driver, a track car, and have all the comforts I could never afford in the past. Maybe a rip off new, but my dream car used.
Personally, the way I see it is that the 1LT, 1SS, and 2SS are the performance versions of the LT1, LT2, and LT3 respectively. You can therefore conclude that the V8 will add 8k to the price of any given model (accounting for standard options not available on the V6 and I4). For many, 8k is just too much for a 150 hp increase when the 275 hp is more than enough to get a felony on its own. Some people just want a Camaro with leather and premium audio. And that stuff is more worth it than extra horsepower at the expense of quietness and gas mileage.
My wife and I are getting the 2 LT with the V6 Convertible because it will be her daily driver, and a V8 is not practical for us. So that is why the 2 LT is best for us. Thanks for the video keep up the good work.
I got mine as a first car because I was not allowed to have a V8 so I went with the next best thing, but I totally agree it's a no brainer, get the V8 if you can.
I wouldn't mind the v6 at all. It's still something sporty to drive to work and with gas prices going up this is all I want to have a smile to work and back. It have the seats I'm wanting and everything else to feel comfortable at the wheel. Not a bad daily at all.
With all due respect, it sounds like you are just trying to justify buying your 1ss? I’ve been looking at the 1lt RS package for a while now, and the 2lt has some nice technology behind it. Either one would be fine, but it your looking at a long term daily the 2lt would have a more bearable shelf life. The whole car interior is very well put together but the dash cluster that the 2lt has is sexxiiiiiiiiiiii bruh. Just get in the car and watch it go. All in all, buy what you want people. If they aren’t putting money towards your payments, their opinions do not matter 👌🏾 o and the girl u like, she doesn’t give a f what the trim is, all she sees is that sexy ass maro ✊🏾
I traded in my BMW 550i GT with a Camaro 2LT fully loaded V6. Sometime it is not about having a V8 or V6 but having a decent sport car with high end configurations. The 550i GT has 400hp and goes from 0-60 about 5 secs, pretty much the same as 2LT V6. I had a 2015 Mustang GT before and the 5.0 V8 just don't feel as same as a twin turbo V8 powered BMW. I sold it for a used maserati quattroporte, but the quatrroporte was a headache when comes to F1 transmission issues.
I agree. I bought the 1LT (RS). It was roughly 32 grand. The fully loaded V6 Camaro’s run over 40 grand, some of them on up there at 45 grand. It’s ridiculous. I could have got an SS for that price. (I chose the V6 though because it’s cheaper on payments, cheaper on insurance, and better on gas. I drive roughly 100 miles a day a get around 40 MPG.) And I had heated leather seats installed, and the car came with a Bose stereo system. The only thing it’s lacking that the 2LTs have that I have blatantly noticed is the heads-up display, duel climate control, and the fancy light show. And I do not envy any of it when it costed an extra 10-15 grand.
Well, if you were looking for gas mileage and insurance, why did you consider a Camaro? I mean, if you're gonna pay 30k for a Camaro it might as well be a 1SS. If you wanted a sports car with good gas mileage, I would have gone for something like a 350 or 370z personally.
I haven’t read through all the comments but like you said you want input. And understand this is an old video. I have owned my 2018 Camaro RS 2.0 for about a year now and purchased mine pretty new with only 2,500 miles on the car and not even broke in yet. As you said your a fairly young individual and so am I being 22 years old. The main selling points with me on the turbo 4cyl were easy for me. Light weight, great fuel mileage, comfortable, 2lt package loaded. Had all the top features I wanted except for a sunroof which I’m fine with. But the big things that took affect was insurance on the vehicle. It’s insane. But with research and studying on them, they out perform the V6, and can compete with the V8’s from Ford and dodge. The 4cylinder camaro is not a car to sleep on at all with just a cold air intake and throttle controller and pushing 4.4 second 0-60 with 18 pounds of boost STOCK. Yes it is a 4cylinder and nothing fancy but motor wise you can get them close to 6.2 zl1 horsepower because you can push higher RPM’s through smaller motors unlike the bigger motors and with it being a 1,000 pounds lighter it makes them very competitive. I got the luxury, the power/performance, and the affordability to own it without sacrificing a limb to own it. Loved the video and look forward to seeing more content from you! 👍🏼
I know this video is 2 years old but I liked your video and reasoning you have given for the cons of a 2LT. I am actually looking at a 2019 LT2 model and with rebates and incentives the price is $22k. In your opinion is that worth getting? The MSRP on this model is $34k. I know they are trying to get rid of the 2019 models on the lot since 2020's have already arrived.
I purchased my 2017 Camaro 2LT RS new with 10 miles last year for $33k out the door , I drove a 1SS rental and actually wish I would’ve gotten the 1SS instead. My LT got totaled so I’m getting a 1SS Convertible for $33k with 6k miles next week
I don't understand, am I missing something? I have been looking at Camaro 2LTs lately because I'm interested in one, the 1LTs and 2LTs with the v6 are right around $22-25k. Did they come down in price significantly, the examples in your video say a 2017 and 2018 Camaro 2LT are $40k.
They may like the design of a camaro over a bmw. I do. I don't look twice at a bmw. I don't own a camaro or any gm products but I randomly clicked this video and I don't care what another person buys with their money. I didn't work for it and they have the right to spend it however they choose. I see camaros and my neck breaks from looking so hard I see a bmw and.... nothing. Also I see a Mustang and.....nothing. challengers on the other hand my head turns every single time and I don't give a damn what trim level they have. Rather I'm in my challenger, 300, ram or sentra I drive almost the same. Reading these comments all I see is HATERS. When did it become cool to be a HATER. I hate mustangs but I show love to the people that own them bc I'm not a HATER.
Hey guys am looking at a 2LT Camaro with very clean interior and exterior. It has a clean title, no accidents, and only has 3,000 miles. The price is $24,000. Is it worth buying?!
When buying a car, most people first look for the style of car they want. In the case a Camaro. Then they way in on the factors of purchasing the car. For example, is it a daily drive, does it snow, insurance cost, how many miles they drive to work, fuel cost and etc. then comes the features(do I want comfort or not). That is the main reason people chose the 2LT RS over the 1SS. I could simply say don’t waste your money on a 2SS Camaro and buy a sting ray for $2k more. Trust me, I know. I have a 2017 RS Redline and a 2016 vette and I don’t plan on driving vette in the snow...I also love all my luxury features
You're right, the 2LT is way over priced for what it is.. it's supposed to be a muscle car. PERFORMANCE. Not luxury.. Anyways, still better then Bladed Angel. Nice video!
Camaros and mustangs stop being muscle cars when they both came out with the current gen. They are all sports cars now. Only muscle car left is the challenger
I don't want a bmw I'm not buying a 2lt to do any sports racing I'm getting one just to ride chicks around town. I'm more for style and I want the car ever since I saw it in transformers IM A MASSIVE MOVIE GUY plus the v8 engine takes a higher brand of gas than just the v6 for what I'm using for again to get to point A to point B the 2lt is fine with me. I may do some comparison with the 1ss but I'm almost certain I'm going to hit the 2lt plus it's only 20gs
I agree if you are talking strictly new but all those numbers are justifiable if you are buying a used Camaro LT2 used and you want a car more exotic looking then a bmw buying one used say 2012 or 2013 is considerably cheaper and the repair cost are less then a BMW so there is my reason
As a woman...this car suited me perfect. I wanted the luxury feel but didn't need a BIG over bearing engine. So, perhaps it's better fitted for a lady.
Unfortunately this only counts for USA. In Europe (Atleast in my country) you pay a couple K more for a ZL1 which has around thesame miles and is the same generation as the 2.0 version. Tax and insurance is obviously way more expensive as well than it's 2.0 version. A brandnew 2.0 Camaro however, in this example a 2.0 Camaro of the year 2019 without options was for sale for €65.000. The V8 version was double this price, €120.000. Ofcourse it would be epic if you drive a true muscle car where I live, but it's just stupidly expensive to own one, even if you don't drive it. The 2.0 still has the looks on the road, it's pretty powerfull for a 2.0, tax/insurance is doable and there's no need to pick up new gas every time you came back from your drive (Gas is also 4 times more expensive here than in the USA.
Hey I’m trying to buy a used car for 20 grand. I want a nicer car with some power but for insurance reasons Luxury brands and V8’s are off the table. What should I look for??
I personally want a ss Camaro but I also dont have 800 dollars a month for car payments and I wont be on the race track every day so I'm just fine with a 5 second 0to60 times and a cheaper price point
Its 2019 and I want a fully loaded v6 Camaro the price has gone down from 35k to know 22k in only 2 years I'm going to go pick one up next month if it's not fully loaded I dont want it !I rather get a 5th gen Camaro ss for the same price and low miles
Do people realize it's only more expensive because of the upgraded leather seats and technology. That's honestly why I would buy it because it's cheapest Camaro model that has leather seats but still holds a decent horsepower. Smh just cause a car didn't have upgraded horsepower, people think its a rip off but they didn't even bother to look at the other things Chevy upgraded that's beneficial for comfort.
Have anyone realized yet that the prices he was showing was for the LT2 and not the 2LT? The LT2 is a v8 fully loaded with pretty much all the performance of an 1SS. Just saying it because I was looking for a review and I got some wrong asf opinion
In certain climates, heated and ventilated seats are a must. Try getting into your car at 0 degrees and having a freezing cold ass for 20-30 minutes driving to work, or try getting in your car when it's over 85 degrees and within 5 minutes there is a river of sweat from your neck to your taint that doesn't dry off instantly. Getting older exacerbates these symptoms, and most people who buy lower trim cars daily drive them. Daily drive, what's that mean? Gas exists, and it hurts your wallet filling up 2x as much per year with v8 engines (and insurance, tires, oil, premium fuel for higher hp, etc). If anyone is even half way decent at math, you start to see the benefits of having a less powerful engine. How often can you actually use even a fraction of the power you pay for in a v8? 60-100 pulls in that v8 on a highway will end up landing you with jail time or massive fines. Guess what feels very fast? 2L turbo that's about 400 lbs lighter and has about ~1s less 0-60 time. If you want performance that's fine, but you literally wont be able to use it in most places that are urban/suburban. It's still a great feeling to own a sports car regardless of their performance because they look badass; it's not always about vroom vroom, I personally own one exclusively for the aesthetic.
I bought a 1lt and added 2lt parts my self and was much cheaper well exempt for the leather seats cuz I hate leather seats main reason I didn't get a 2lt the leather gets so cold when it's cold and nasty hot and sticky on your skin when it's hot
i got my 2018 camaro rs and it runs perfectly, i was gonna go for a v8 but then i realized that the gas is getting mad expensive and i know since i drive a lot,a v8 wouldn’t be a good idea for me to drive, i know for a fact the gas is gonna be 8.50$ in the future..
You answered your own question..if you want a "performance" car you get the SS. If you want heated ventilated seats..heated steering wheel and don't mind sacrificing SOME performance you get the 2LT. If you want it all..get the 2SS 1LE.
2LT is better for daily driving in my opinion. I consider myself a car enthusiast and have been looking for my next car purchase. I am only 23 so money is obviously something I must consider. I currently own a 92 Miata & a 13 Dodge avenger. Looking to get rid of both and buy 1 car. The smaller engine provides cheaper maintenance & gas while providing me with a car I can still enjoy driving with a manual transmission. I love the look of a sports coupe but I'm not out here racing people. I work a business job and am using my car as a commuter.
The point about wanting comfort vs performance is precisely why Euro car guys love european cars -- you get great comfort and performance all in one package. Whereas American performance is all about ditching comfort in the name of performance just so that performance is cheaper. Basically, think of Euro cars as skipping anything below the 2SS in the first place -- you pay a higher price at first, but you're rewarded with better comfort without any sacrifice to your performance.
heinkmeister but the technology lacks like Audi for example their Nav and radio systems couldn't hold a candle to Chevy. I have an Audi and I'm about to trade it in for a 2LT Camaro because the Nav system is basically useless and just for looks. the radio and speakers are crap too. It's such a shame to because unlike Chevy you do get a lot of room I'm 5'11" and can drive very comfortably for hours behind the wheel no problem.
I’m looking into buying a 3LT within the next year, any owners can give me any feedback on whether or not it’s good as a daily driver? I’m going for the V6 cause I don’t really need a V8, just a beautiful car with a sporty feel and a little practicality! :)
Omni Rider I spy a Texas registration sticker lol what part are you in?
I own a 2017 2LT rs convertible, I saw a 1ss go for a few grand more than mine but one of the main reasons was cost. Sure they may be very close in cost but look at insurance, tax, fuel economy and cost of maintenance. Sure v8’s May be better but in the long run, it’s more practical to have a v6 over the v8. Not to mention the fact that you don’t need 455 bhp, 335 is still gonna get me from a to b and the 2LT has all the luxuries of the ss with less cost long term. I am 2LT and proud. But then again that’s just my opinion.
If you are looking for luxury buy a luxury car NOT A SPORTSCAR
KarolGames 9510 you can have both that’s why they offer it stop trying to stop people from buying this and wanting for them to buy a car they don’t want
Luxury cars are not as much fun to drive as this car.
KarolGames 9510 people buy the2 LT to get both luxury and sport car performance for okay fuel economy compared to a v8
I agree ☝🏽
Most people who get the v6 and i4 engines use these cars as their daily drivers. Some people need the comforts that come with the 2lt, some could live without it. Its as simple as that. But most of the camaros i see on the roads are base models
yep, my neighbor has a base model. he tries to f l e x with it but gets called out, i asked him why the i4 and not the v6 or 8 and he said it was for gas
Have you driven the v6 ? .8 less in 0-60 than the ss. ? That pretty awseome I keep up just fine with myself friends gt 5.0 and ss
I just bought a 2018 1SS 6 Speed yesterday (traded in a 2014 Mustang V6 Premium 6 Speed for it, plus a good downpayment), and it will be my daily driver
@@FirebirdCamaro1220 congrats
Bobby Wisdom a lot of people can’t afford decent vechicles
the justification for the 2LT V6 (vs SS) is if you are on a budget, live in the city, and use this car as your daily driver the v8 burns too much $$ (considering only using the full potential of the V8 on a race track or thru way without the police harassing you), at the same time the car will be fully loaded for your comfort - hope this helps

Not bad if you ask me
blafrican 345 exactly, it’s weird this white r/t charger wasn’t passing me in my 16 Camaro 2Lt, he even flashed his head lights twice
Well said I’ve test driven lt1s 2020 and 17 and they drove really nice to me
I love my 2016 camaro rs I even modded it out it drives great and its a head turner 👍🏾
Agree 👍
Dude, you got be careful with those pop ups blocking your view of the road.
True Camaros are more expensive than ever, but they have really stepped up their game for the new generation. Handling, luxury and of course power are all better than ever.
Totally agree, I think the price is justified. I'm just thinking the 2LT is a bit price gouged, especially by the dealerships.
The V-8 requires premium fuel and the V-6 runs on regular so the 2lt would be cheaper to maintain.
GABRIEL GOMEZ keep on the grind bro
GABRIEL GOMEZ Respect ✊
What year was yours 😳 the one I’m looking at is 2019 2LT $32k with 29k miles
I got my 2017 2LT 1LE for $34k brand spanking new. That was a price I could not turn down considering that package goes for about $42-$45k. My insurance went down, and my highway miles are ridiculously good. Sure, I'm not the fastest guy in town, but the car looks great, and outperforms 95% of other vehicles in corners. Do I wish it was a V8? Yes, but that was out of my price range in a 1LE package, and it's nothing a pro-charger can't fix.
Nice pick, good point!
@@aoxilus maybe not, I picked up an 18 1SS 6 Speed from a Chevy dealer yesterday, 3,600 miles for $32k
I was actually looking at a new 2LT but ended up with a used 2SS, and I couldn't be happier :P
The 2ss is worth it for cameros idk why this mans is saying they aren’t u can get them cheep now and it’s worth the money because the interiors the best out of the 3 muscle cars
@Fresh Produce he clearly said it was
Car guys like myself would pick the v8 but then again some people like the looks of the sports car and want good gas milage to daily it. So non-car people will never pick the 1SS instead of the 2LT
Non car guys will not pick a Camaro in the first place
True that. I can tell you this though, no man with a V8 will feel jealous of a 4 cylinder version of their car even if it has all the bells and whistles
Absolute Longplay but why would they care what other people think in the first place?
@@Osmani4you because the v8 is clearly the sole reason for existing on this planet lol

I think the best v6 sports car you can buy is a used Nissan 370z. I bought mine a year ago for 24k for a 2014. It's loaded with almost every option. It just feels wierd to think about a muscle car with a v6.
Ryan Pavey agree I got one just recently I fuck with it heavy bro i love it
370zs look like a toad
luisbrandolb yeah shut the fuck up what do you drive?
Very true statement, besides a V6 pulling a car thats much lighter than the newer "Behemoth" muscle cars is much more understood. The cars like the Z and STI just have that better power to weight ratio for the V6. Personally I drive a 87 Monte Carlo SS, but have plenty of pals that rock Zs
Stop thinking
Pretty stupid question. People buy what they want prices isn’t a factor.
Really luxury lol that’s a Chevrolet not a bmw
I just walked out of the dealership with a 2018 SS1 for 22k out the door... I have no idea what the HELL they were thinking, I legit feel like I committed robbery or something. I was not gonna settle with the 2.0 Turbo... no way... I agree with your points.
Did you hold them at gunpoint or something? And how many miles when you purchased it
See I own a 2012 1LT V6 RS and I do wish I got a 2LT because the technology would be a plus but honestly what gets me im the 2LT or 2SS is the interior lighting bigger screen and the heated and cooled seats.
I purchased a brand new 2018 2LT LGX MT in 2019 mainly because:
1. It's my daily driver
2. I didn't want to live at the gas pump
3. Lots of 2018s were still on the lot so I got a great deal
4. Was getting out of a luxury German brand that was hell to maintain
5. Plenty of power for me in this NA American brand vs the Turbo powered foreign brand I was leaving behind
6. Makes me smile every day😁
I have a 2018 2LT with RS package, it’s better for the insurance especially since I’m 17.
RandomLamchopS How do you have a 2018 anything at 17? Are you leasing?
Kris A his parents have a 2018 2LT with RS package.
Landon Upton or maybe he got it as a gift and the condition is to pay the insurance
Kris A well, pretty much my parents money. It’s going on my name after I turn 18
RandomLamchopS hope you're ready for that, I'm 19 with a 2015 FiST and it's already a pretty hefty insurance payment
Camaro The 1LT doesn't come with the HUD Display and some other electronics.
Could buy a Mustang GT for 32k 🤦🏾♂️
Jose Pina yeah I don’t have that either or like the suede touches around the car
Dsquared2 monthly payments buddy I’m in college I can’t afford $500-600 a month
Why'd you buy a camaro then?
All camaros need blindspot warnings and rear cross traffic alerts that the only reason I would get a 2lt
Also I payed 10k of it and pay for gas and insurance, wasn't like I didn't have to work to much for it still a blessing to have
i got a 2Lt RS..
2lt is a great car v6 or v4
Biggest difference is proooobbbaabllyyyy the price of insurance.
2lt rs v6 sounds nice for 32k, i wouldnt say its that much of a rip off, i would prefer a 1ss but the 2lt aint that bad
My wife and I are getting the 2 LT with the V6 Convertible because it will be her daily driver, and a V8 is not practical for us. So that is why the 2 LT is best for us. Thanks for the video keep up the good work.
2lt for 23k
I got mine as a first car because I was not allowed to have a V8 so I went with the next best thing, but I totally agree it's a no brainer, get the V8 if you can.
if i was an older man, it’s understandable that i would want the 2LT. more luxury sports car, with a little power

I drive roughly 100 miles a day a get around 40 MPG.)
And I had heated leather seats installed, and the car came with a Bose stereo system.
It could be that people just love their favorite cars, so it may not matter if they love Camaros.
My LT got totaled so I’m getting a 1SS Convertible for $33k with 6k miles next week
if you are spending 40k on a 2lt your chevy dealer is ripping you off
the 2019 2lt 1le for that matter is 31 so idk what this is going on about
I don't understand, am I missing something? I have been looking at Camaro 2LTs lately because I'm interested in one, the 1LTs and 2LTs with the v6 are right around $22-25k. Did they come down in price significantly, the examples in your video say a 2017 and 2018 Camaro 2LT are $40k.
Only thing I can think is maybe insurance is cheaper with a v6, maybe I’m not I really don’t know but that’s all I can think
Simple. Get a 1SS for the same money.
Hey man love you and ur bro's videos! Keep it up man! Have a great night!
I would have said the same thing as a younger man, no way I would have wanted a V6 Camaro, but The 2LT is def the best value for the money.
You're right, the 2LT is way over priced for what it is.. it's supposed to be a muscle car. PERFORMANCE. Not luxury.. Anyways, still better then Bladed Angel. Nice video!
Just remember me when you explode because I hate being forgotten lol
it's his brother
The v6 when twin turbo can be very powerful if the engine gets rebuilt and twin turbocharged
I bought a camaro 2017 2lt for 27k with the 4 cylinder turbo, good buy?
I got a 2016 1lt RS for 22k!!! Brand new. Super bargain. You have to shop around and get all the rebates possible. Do wish I had leather seats tho lol
Hold on 3LT is the fully loaded camaro did trims change?
I got my 2016 2lt for 28k new msrp 39.5k. so I disagree
100% true
I’m looking into buying a 3LT within the next year, any owners can give me any feedback on whether or not it’s good as a daily driver? I’m going for the V6 cause I don’t really need a V8, just a beautiful car with a sporty feel and a little practicality! :)
whats the best package for 2018 camaro v6?
