It's hard to make a v6 sound good but I found out how to do it you need varex variable 3 inch muffler and a resonator on both sides then you will get no rasp but a extremely good tone it sounds like a v8 at idle and a Nissan gtr at higher rpm

To make a v6 sound great and to add power or torque is putting large headers better air intake manifold and a nice exhaust system.Get it tuned and you’ll hear and see the difference.A straight piped v6 isn’t gonna cut it.I own a v6 Camaro and learned that through trial and error.

Me too, especially on the red SS when there was a solid 2” of pipe sticking out of the tip with some comical slag tossed around it for a weird “weld” inside the tip

The naturally aspirated V8 sounded the best to me. The 4cyl sounds pretty good, but more fitting for a modded rice burner than a Camaro. The V6, meh. Didn't sound good until he revved it up down the road. The supercharged V8 sounded a bit choked to me, but I'm sure that was the supercharger, and the amount of oil it was burning is concerning. I've heard superchargers are bad to use oil, but that was an awful lot of smoke coming from that exhaust. Would be a pain to pass an inspection with I would think.
Lol the only v6 that sounds good has to be a 3.9l or bigger. My 4.3l with a universal cat and the flowfx actually sounds really good. Not loud since it’s not fast haha
I’d just keep the stock v6 exhaust for the cámaros. They were designed by engineers so they’d sound decent. Cutting it off and straight piping it just doesn’t make it justice.
I think that the guy in the V6 should have left the resonators on. I’m saying that as an owner of a 2016 X piped camaro with a muffler delete. However, it doesn’t matter how many cylinders you have in your engine. If you take off the resonators it will drone & it won’t sound pretty.
I believe on the v6 I would want a deeper tone, I wonder if it could be fitted with headers and have no cats and go back to a Flowmaster or borla muffler to get that sound, my Grand Am Gt 2002 v6 had borla exhaust and sounded way better
Took the X-pipe and H-PIPE which have been proven to make more torque and horse power lol plus change the sound of the exhaust... The cats are what need to be removed for more sound fyi...

Only problem I have with the V6, is that they are usually the worst IRL earrape ever. There ain't a fart can Honda alive that can match the sheer amount of ear-drum shattering noise that comes from those things.
The 4.3l sounds good (at least from the 90’s). Mine doesn’t sound mean but it sounds good. Threw the flowfx in there and replaced my clogged cat with a cheap universal. I think jeeps inline 6 sounds pretty good too if I remember correctly (at least the ones from mid 2004 and lower) Pretty much all 4 bangers sound like trash. Only good one is a proper subaru. Other than that it’s v8 all day..
i would take an inline six over most 4 bangers and V6 engines. Some of the most reliable and powerful inline engines are the inline sixes. They are also smoother and easier to work on. Mercedes OM606 Cummins 6BT 12 valve International DT-466 CAT 3406E Toyota 2JZ and 1JZ Chrystler slant six Nissan RB26DETT Jaguar XK6 and a buttload of other inline 6 engines. They are freaking sick

Why TF would you cut out the H pipes? They are there to scavenge exhaust... You've increased restriction and decreased flow by doing that. The stock V6 exhaust flows and sounds nice. That sounds like ass.
Not really, if the owner had a brain he would know to get a resonated magnaflow x pipe, to help increase scavenging for the higher rpm, x pipe actual helps and they do get better with more work but stock 🤢 increase piping to 2.5' is a must along with getting rid of those two bricks u call mufflers
@@cormaro13 I'd rather have the stock setup and an axle-back than that mess. H pipe and X pipes perform very similarly as far as N.A. V engines go until you're in 7,000+ rpm/ 1000 hp applications. Forced induction setups make the point moot. H pipes give a throatier sound and X pipes give a more shrill sound and flow a little better depending on the setup, thats really it. On a V6 Camaro, the performance difference with larger pipe and an X crossover won't be felt at all, even after a tune, E85, that kind of thing. Ask me how I know. I went through several iterations of exhaust mods on my 2013 LFX to make power gains that fell within the margins of error & ambient conditions. In the end, I sold everything but the axle back and went with the stock mid section. Power gains weren't worth the awful sound, droning, and cost. For the V6, unless you're going forced induction, I learned there really isn't a good reason to mess with anything but the rear mufflers/ resonators.

I'm not saying every v8 sounds amazing, but I am saying that nearly all v6s have that resonance on decel. Maybe the old odd-fire v6 sounds differently, but the traditional bank-to-bank firing order creates a sound that I don't like. On a traditional v8 engine, the firing order is 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2. 4 and 7 are out of sequence and fire on the same bank only 90⁰ of crankshaft rotation after the previous cylinders (1 and 5). 3 and 2 fire 270⁰ after the previous cylinder on that bank (1 and 6). That void followed by the quick dual pulses creates the burble of a v8 exhaust. But that is not even the whole story. A v8 with a y pipe and single exhaust system should have equal pulses reaching the tailpipe every 90⁰ of crankshaft rotation. But they still sound different than a v6. Again, it's subjective. I just don't typically like the sound of v6 or 4 cylinder engines. There are exceptions, but that's just my opinion.

The stock ss is a monster. Way better value than jumping to the zl1. Sure the zl1 is better but your paying 20 grand more for bragging rights basically.
200 more horsepower is nothing to scoff at. If it was say 50-100 more hp for 20k more I would agree. But people who don’t want to build themselves can just have it as an option and will pay to go faster.

Camaro owner since I was 16 (46 now). I'll never give the love to a non-V8 Camaro like I would an 8.... and it would be embarrassing to to be asked "which Camaro do you have?" and I reply "the 4 cylinder turbo.." However, the work made them sound great for what they are (the 4 banger and 2 cylinder delete). The V6 Camaro's from 2009 up I have never liked the way they sound..no matter what they put on them. The V8s sound pretty good but even mine is a little raspy from factory. My 95z28 (383, CompCams custom, custom Trickflows, etc. etc.,custom shorty headers, Borla, Magnum T72 turbo, etc. 690rwhp@5700) still sounds deeper, meaner, and no raspy ting tang crackles when you let off a rev.
Eh mrt v2 was too quiet honestly, I have a more beefy set up on mine, cat delete, 2.5' straight pipe, magnaflow resonated x pipe, mrt v1 out the back, with full bolts, 4 inch intake, and e85 tune, shit sounds mean lol

I do not mean to offend anyone, I'm just way against putting a 4cyl engine into a camaro. That and the v6 don't do that body style justice with the sounds those engines emit. IMO, the true music to the ears starts at 6:36 with that beautiful v8 rumble. There are great sounding 4cyl and v6's out there..these aren't them.. I did a muffler delete and then put on an mbrp axle back exhaust and it sounds great. There’s no drone and it’s still loud without being annoying.
I got a 13 police interceptor sedan 3.5 with a rear muffler delete and at idle and low rpm she sounds nice and deep with a growl to her
On my v6 I had a cai, xpipe, mrt2 mufflers & the rest stock pipes. Sounded pretty deep with little rasp.

H pipe and X pipes perform very similarly as far as N.A. V engines go until you're in 7,000+ rpm/ 1000 hp applications. Forced induction setups make the point moot. H pipes give a throatier sound and X pipes give a more shrill sound and flow a little better depending on the setup, thats really it.
On a V6 Camaro, the performance difference with larger pipe and an X crossover won't be felt at all, even after a tune, E85, that kind of thing. Ask me how I know. I went through several iterations of exhaust mods on my 2013 LFX to make power gains that fell within the margins of error & ambient conditions.
In the end, I sold everything but the axle back and went with the stock mid section. Power gains weren't worth the awful sound, droning, and cost. For the V6, unless you're going forced induction, I learned there really isn't a good reason to mess with anything but the rear mufflers/ resonators.
@@doug960 Interesting, I have the arh catted dp, with 2.5' straight pipe, resonated magnaflow x pipe and mrt v1 out the back, I personally like it out of most setups I heard, was able to elimate a good amount of drone and all rasp with the x pipe, but anything better than those bricks on in the back lol
I've seen people use solo performance or the ones with the j pipes to really help elimate the drone

@@hellcattrisk_2430 there is a resonance on nearly all v6 engines. When they rev it up, it's all I can hear.
I'm not saying every v8 sounds amazing, but I am saying that nearly all v6s have that resonance on decel. Maybe the old odd-fire v6 sounds differently, but the traditional bank-to-bank firing order creates a sound that I don't like.
On a traditional v8 engine, the firing order is 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2. 4 and 7 are out of sequence and fire on the same bank only 90⁰ of crankshaft rotation after the previous cylinders (1 and 5). 3 and 2 fire 270⁰ after the previous cylinder on that bank (1 and 6). That void followed by the quick dual pulses creates the burble of a v8 exhaust.
But that is not even the whole story. A v8 with a y pipe and single exhaust system should have equal pulses reaching the tailpipe every 90⁰ of crankshaft rotation. But they still sound different than a v6.
Again, it's subjective. I just don't typically like the sound of v6 or 4 cylinder engines. There are exceptions, but that's just my opinion.
@@hellcattrisk_2430 I just went back and rewatched the video. I stand by my original statements. The v6 sounds terrible. Just because it's loud and had high volume doesn't necessarily mean it sounds good. The v6 is just a loud buzzing noise to me.
If either one of the 4 or 6 cylinder cars where my neighbors ....... I buy a pallet of cinder blocks to throw threw their windshield each time they started them turd boxes. Sounds like a leaky exhaust manifold. The 6.2 cars don't sound too bad if you could clean up the raspy sound. . Loudness doesn't replace quickness. My Cadillac Vsport would dissappear from all of them except the ZL1 and they'd think twice b4 messing with something they can't hear coming. Stealth is sleeper .

I have a Standard 06 Subaru Impreza with an exhaust on it and I think its louder and sounds better than the 4 clyender and the V-6.

Camaro owner since I was 16 (46 now). I'll never give the love to a non-V8 Camaro like I would an 8.... and it would be embarrassing to to be asked "which Camaro do you have?" and I reply "the 4 cylinder turbo.." However, the work made them sound great for what they are (the 4 banger and 2 cylinder delete). The V6 Camaro's from 2009 up I have never liked the way they sound..no matter what they put on them. The V8s sound pretty good but even mine is a little raspy from factory. My 95z28 (383, CompCams custom, custom Trickflows, etc. etc.,custom shorty headers, Borla, Magnum T72 turbo, etc. 690rwhp@5700) still sounds deeper, meaner, and no raspy ting tang crackles when you let off a rev.

I do not mean to offend anyone, I'm just way against putting a 4cyl engine into a camaro. That and the v6 don't do that body style justice with the sounds those engines emit. IMO, the true music to the ears starts at 6:36 with that beautiful v8 rumble. There are great sounding 4cyl and v6's out there..these aren't them..

The 4cyl supercharged didn’t have enough depth and I did like the V6 sound but it really does come to what your personal taste & preferences are when it comes to them. Too me the V6 sounds mean compared to Rice Burners lol.
The V6 needs an X-pipe so it'll purr. V8 needed to keep the X-pipe, would've sounded way better with that. The ZL1 sounded great.
