I like to cook on the simple side and first tried out Panko breadcrumbs Salmon fillets fried in oil on a fire pit. Which was very Delicious.
And secondly i tried my own version of a Fish Curry with vegetables, again was surpurb. I will use curry with fish again!

i grew up on "aussie salmon" we call them Kahawai in New Zealand n i eat them all the time & trust me u want too bleed them... if u dont its really fishy, it starts to stink really quickly & it doesnt keep for as long... the only time i dont bleed my kahawai is when im using them for fresh snapper bait or putting it out as a livey for kingfish

When you caught that fish it looked like a carp or something and I had to look up what an Australian salmon is. Wow, I really want to try this fish! It's completely different from northern hemisphere salmon, which are related to trout. I definitely need to go on a fishing vacation in Australia, sounds like you guys have all kinds of neat stuff I have never even heard of.

    • @FishTuckerMan
      @FishTuckerMan  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks man! Yes we've got a few different species here Down Under. I watch a few other TH-camrs from the Northern Hemisphere and same here..would like to venture and try your fish species.👍🤙

@@FishTuckerMan I will give it a go, if I ever get out after salmon again. It has been many years since I fished for the on the South Coast. I really ought to get there and hit into them later in the winter. The big ones hit the beaches about then.

    Best used in raw fish
    Dice into small cubes
Add your salt and pepper with tomatoes
Let it sit for an hour in fridge
    Add spring onions with cucumber
    With lemon
    Mix it up
Then let it sit for 15 to twenty minutes in fridge
Add cream or coconut cream and woo hoo shes all good to go
    I prefer full cream

I've heard time and time again dom oh salmon oz salmon yuck.i have caught many of these and in the early days I fillet them and cooked them and yes they taste yuk.but I eventually looked a little closer and noticed that there was either white meat or grey meat.the grey being the blood line cooked. No wonder they tasting yuk.got a huge 3kg one and filleted it then cut fillet down middle and seen the beef like meat.cut that off and the white flesh was so juicy and succulent and sweet.a fab table fish.need to educate people of this.its abundant .

@@FishTuckerMan So, why would you call it a Salmon. Let me tell you why, because the whole of Australia calls it that, The species is not a Salmon. I'm sure you have figured this out by yourself..

this is the best way someone please try this and tell me how you liked it. first don't snap the neck from your salmon and bleed them all this does is make it less messy to fillet and makes the taste worse and the meat gray. get one cup of flour of can of beer and make the batter then put HEAPS of salt and pepper on the fish dip in batter then fry it for about 1:30 sec in total and boom bobs your uncle your have nice salmon. dont bleed them

    • @FishTuckerMan
