    The chef is doing a great job at showing how to pan sear a moist and flavorful fish fillet in a very practical way .I definitely learned some good tips on pan grilling fish by watching her video .

    Thank you for the fast, simple, video. My fish dinner for 3 turned out very nicely. I basically cooked breakfast or burgers for 50 years. Now I use internet to teach this old dog new tricks. Yum.

      Same, i used to deep fry food before I knew that deep frying adds a lot of calories to food and i decided to learn how to pan fry food instead

      @@reducedtoatoms327 You can also eat Sardine from tinplate sometimes. They are good (not tasty but you can add into other food and also some tast makers). You can look up Dr. Berg on TH-cam talking about it.

    Susan I am a beginner cooker and I just started a new diet and I've NEVER cooked fish before and, mistakenly, I treated it like chicken. So you can take a guess how that went. But after that disaster I came right here and started over and my fish came out perfectly. Take you so much.

    Nicely done..weather is getting warmer and I did not want to use my oven for baked fish..although I love that with the buttered bread crumbs (I use crushed croutons) but this recipe looks wonderful and easy..love the butter-lemon sauce..doing this tonight!
    It would be the best thing for cod and could not be easier !! Thank you !

      Yeah, this is one of those old school recipes that didn't say add cinnamon, cumin, dill, minced garlic, ginger, gold flakes, nutmeg, minced onions, paprika, rosemary, saffron, tarragon, thyme, turmeric, Old Bay Seasoning, butter only from cows in the Swiss Alps, lemons only from India, and all ingredients added at specific times during the cooking process. This was straight forward with the minimum required ingredients to give it great flavors.

    I use a reasonably priced extra virgin olive oil for most cooking, however, olive oil and canola oil are also good choices.

    I usually use a little Zatarain's Creole seasoning, but you are right, it is as simple as just salt and pepper. I tried this today and it was great. The fish was Spanish Mackerel. Thanks for the video. Your presentation was very well done.

    Hi Chris - You can use the same pan, but take the fish out first. After it's cooked, add the spring onions (or finely sliced leeks) to the hot pan, maybe with a little extra oil or butter. They will cook very quickly and then just top the fish with the vegetable garnish. Enjoy!

    I think you are right, I tried putting the bare minimal butter and oil in and it was a lot faster. The first was Hake, quite large fillets as well. My pan that I use is a T-fal if that helps.

    Expeller pressed canola oil is a really good choice, so is grapeseed oil. Neither of these have much flavor and both have higher smoke points than olive oil, so you'll enjoy cooking with them and won't have to worry about getting the pan too hot and smoking up the kitchen.

    Brilliant! Although I don't mind batter I think it can sometimes be too heavy for the fish and ruin the delicateness of it, pan fried with a zest of lemon really is always a winner

    so i made this recipe and it turned out perfectly. the only problem i had was about the salt. the fish turned out too salty. i used basa fish. what amount of salt/pepper would you recommend? and about the butter, should i use salted or unsalted?

    Old Bay seasoning is a classic on the East Coast for seafood. If you like it - great! It does add zest and interest to simple fish dishes.

    I use a similar method for swordfish, I like to lay some asparagus around it to absorb some of the flavor from the pan.
