    Very helpful. I have been enjoying your content. You mentioned too much soap in slip solution in this video. What is the ratio you prefer in your solution?

    • @EncorePPFtint
      @EncorePPFtint  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I have concentrated soap from PremiumShield. It's called "shampoo" for washing vehicles. With that soap, I use 7 milliliters to each gallon. You'll notice that when I stretch stuff, it normally stays in place on its own before I sqeegee it. That helps with speed but does take a while to get used to. The Downside is when I don't properly stretch the film into place, I have to pull it back and reapply slip. Something to note is that on difficult hoods with large ridges, I'll use another bottle with more soap so the material doesn't tack too quickly. 👍🏻

    Being a master tech yourself with ppf and tint how would you compare the difficulty of learning between the 2 I’m a window tinter and starting to learn ppf at a shop I’m working at it seems easier than tint Doesn’t feel like a one shot type of thing during install like tint is what’s your opinion? Thanks !

    • @EncorePPFtint
      @EncorePPFtint  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I started with tint as well. I feel like the transition from window tint to PPF was fairly smooth. I think learning PPF without knowing how to do tint probably would have been much more difficult. I agree with you. You already know how to squeegee and use an olfa knife.... plus so many more skills that will help speed up the learning curve! PPF can be pulled up and laid back down. It definitely has its "start all over" times as well, though. It really sucks when you have an hour or two into an install and have to trash it. Plus, the material costs are way higher. 😁

    Nice work! I wish all front ends were this way 😂
    Audio sounds great on all your videos too. What are using to capture your voice? Is it a mic that’s wired into hour GoPro? I just ordered a Sony zv-1 camera to start using for my channel!

    • @EncorePPFtint
      @EncorePPFtint  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No joke! I could do these all day! As far as the mic goes, look up "Purple Panda Lavalier Lapel Microphone Kit" on Amazon. Cheap and effective. That's the mic I use now. Before that I just used the GoPro audio. I looked into wireless mic's, but I didn't want one more thing with a battery to keep charged. I prefer the GoPro audio over my Sony camera audio, but the mic is the best. That mic plugs directly into my GoPro with an adapter. I also had to buy a different battery cover so I could access the USB-C port for the audio input. I definity like having two cameras going. That way I always have some kind of shot to use (although it's a lot more editing). :) Although, I see that the spot on your head is already taken by a light. 😂 I have 2 GoPro10's and a Sony Alpha ZV-E10. They all overheat pretty often in the summer, even with the AC running in the shop. The GoPro's overheat much more often and that is why I have two of them. I switch them back and forth. I recommend getting extra batteries and a charger that will charge a couple batteries at once.
      Do you script your videos? You do a much better job talking in your videos than I do! LOL

      You've got a great channel with some awesome content. I really like your titles and thumbnails as well. 👍🏻 Did you take a course or get some help for those? I'd like to up my game in those areas. 😁

      @@EncorePPFtint Awesome! I'll have to check my GoPros out. I think they're older Hero 5's, so not sure if I can plug an external mic right into it. But that makes the most sense as you won't have cables running everywhere if it's attached to the camera that you're wearing! Yeah I usually have a Scangrip on my head when installing, but could swap it out for the GoPro when making videos. I only script the videos that look more "professional" lol. I hire a videographer for those so I plan ahead and script so I don't waste time. All the others are me just talking on the fly. I was a teacher for 10 years so maybe that helps lol.

      @@EncorePPFtint Thanks! I've been slacking lately b/c the shop has been so busy, but I really do want to grow the channel with more detailing, ceramic coating, and ppf content. Got a few video ideas in the pipeline just need the time! I was about to say I like your thumbnails better than mine! lol Thanks for the compliment! I just use a basic photo editor and try and make them look catchy.

      Even if you only use the GoPro for audio recording, it will help with the wire. Although I'm sure there are audio recorders you can put in your pocket. For that matter, you could just put the GoPro in your pocket. Although it's also recording video, so the file size will be larger. 🤔
      How much does a videographer cost roughly?
      You definitely got a lot of experience talking and explaining things as a teacher. It shows in your videos.
      I've been considering adding ceramic coatings to our services (we currently sub that out). Coatings over the PPF are definitely helpful. Since we are normally working on brand new vehicles, I'm guessing there wouldn't be as much prep work. Do you think that is true?

      After all these years, that is the first chair I've had break! I fixed it with some JB weld. 😂🤣 The plastic around the wheel spred out because of the cheap support under there.
