    Appreciated how open and honest you were when you scratched the PPF. This could have been easily edited out to show that it’s fully protected against all scratches, but you guys were open and showed that it helps tremendously and even PPF can still be damaged with super deep scratches.

    • @jon7926
      @jon7926 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It doesn’t last that long. Maybe 3to 5 years if that realistically , they actual fade n I’ve seen stone chips get threw the coating, if you wait 5 years it wil be hard to remove n may damage the paint. Don’t waist your money. Just have it professional detailed 3 times a year n your car will look better. Most people only keep cars for 3 to 5 years anyway.

  • @Slaypalm

    Maybe it’s just me, but $1500-$10,000 would buy you a pretty nice separate beat around vehicle to split mileage/wear and tear that you could drive in winter and also preserve more value than just PPF. An occasional rock chip/scratch or let the whole car rust out...idk I debate it.

    • @forzadrifter8840
      @forzadrifter8840 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly! It's almost like these guys don't realize this only really makes sense for regular people with daily drivers, that take a beating, are parked outside, have a ton of miles put on them, etc. Or maybe some exotics that are track toys...mostly just average daily drivers though. In which case $6-10K is insane. That's more than the cost of doing a full car repaint. Or a second car. They're out of their minds...

    Just for clarification, so on top of the PPF we still have to apply a ceramic coating? Is the PPF not enough to protect the paint? Pls educate me. Thank you.

    Not sure if you'll see this but what do you think of the HEXIS Bodyfence product? I saw it in an 8 way test by scottHD and it looks very very good compared to the others tested but there are no installers in my area and very few in the US.

    do you think it's necessary to get a ceramic coating on top of the suntek reaction ppf or is that just overkill because I saw it says the suntek reaction ppf has ceramic qualities

    Wow that’s a tedious task. Ceramic coating is definitely easier and quicker. But the scratching and self healing is miraculous. Both are phenomenal, I’m enjoying learning about both processes.

      @lewislevits1193 I don’t get removing PPF, why would you remove it after paying all that money.

    • @justinbelk89
      @justinbelk89 ปีที่แล้ว

      @lewislevits1193 thanks for the tip. Makes sense. To me Ceramic Coating sounds better. I drive my car everyday, I can avoid some things but wear is gonna happen. I think it’s easier and cheaper for touch ups vs re wrapping.

    quick question: in Chicago, what is the usual price for full or partial(front-only) PPF on a BMW X1 or X3? Thanks! I'm in the East and gotten quotes from at least half a dozen installers with 4.5-star or better Google reviews... but the quotes ranged from $2700 to $5100(for full PPF)... or $1100 to $2900 for front-only. Is it just me or is that really high?

    What if I leave a tiny spot of rust under the cote. Will the wrap make it worse?
    This is what I fear.
    Also, I had a ceramic coating installed by the manufacturer a year ago. Is a wrap a no-go?
    I was considering a DIY my Forester with Avery Dennison 900 Rugged. I go to the forest often and I was considering wrapping it to protect it.

    Great video Jason and Eman. I wish I was aware of the wrap around technique when I had my car done a few years ago. Watching you scratch that X-Pel made my skin crawl. So that last scratch... would you ever consider using a DA polisher on PPF??? It sounds a little redundant, but I'd like to know your take on it. Thanks..
