    Appreciated how open and honest you were when you scratched the PPF. This could have been easily edited out to show that it’s fully protected against all scratches, but you guys were open and showed that it helps tremendously and even PPF can still be damaged with super deep scratches.

    • @jon7926
      @jon7926 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It doesn’t last that long. Maybe 3to 5 years if that realistically , they actual fade n I’ve seen stone chips get threw the coating, if you wait 5 years it wil be hard to remove n may damage the paint. Don’t waist your money. Just have it professional detailed 3 times a year n your car will look better. Most people only keep cars for 3 to 5 years anyway.

    Maybe it’s just me, but $1500-$10,000 would buy you a pretty nice separate beat around vehicle to split mileage/wear and tear that you could drive in winter and also preserve more value than just PPF. An occasional rock chip/scratch or let the whole car rust out...idk I debate it.

I live in a similar environment where extreme cold and heat cycles throughout the year and my vehicle is usually parked outside at work and sometimes at home. The problem of the PPF is PPF will never protect car from big deep scratches,
    Even small accident or Small bump....
    And after every 4 to 5 years PPF will have to change and when PPF Peel off after 4 to 5 years or more then it's possible to damage the original paint of the beloved car....
    On the other side for installing PPF need to remove car original fittings which from factory and this is ridiculous for any brand new car.....
    That's why I always prefer Best quality ceramic coating and ceramic coating has no issue, overall good paint protection minimum for 3 years after applying and don't need to remove any original car part or fittings.

    Can you talk about PPF removal? I did my Harley motorcycle batwing fairing. Under the fairing is a painted pinstripe. I’ve heard horror stories of having to repaint entire panels due to paint peeling off with PPF removal. Sadly I didn’t go to CAP, I went to someone who wasn’t familiar with my bike and at some point I would want to redo it. However I am scared to remove it because I was told I could damage my paint and pinstripe

      If you decide to remove it do it on a hot day in the sun start by peeling edge up and when removing film stretch or pull towards you that way you don't leave glue behind and less likely to remove any paint. If your bike has been repainted and the ppf was laid down on a re spray then your paint may come up with the film if the re spray was done poorly

    Excellent and informative video! I'm going to install a full PPF on my new Porsche Taycan 4S as soon as it's delivered. To be honest, my major concern is the removal of trim, mirrors, lights, etc. especially on a new model like the Taycan. You guys really look like you know your shit. Too bad I don't live in Chicago.

    Tip of the day brother Jason:
    PPF’s self-healing loses its attribute entirely, a year or so from date of application (depending on external temperature)... 6-12 months from now, you will begin to notice it...
    Love and peace from Dubai ♥️

    • @descendinggod9740
      @descendinggod9740 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes this is why you must apply Ceramic coatings and take care of the film, so that scratches and etc. never even reach the top layer to damage since it has to eat through all the added top layers first.

    Will it leave a residue when you peel it off after few years? Does it turn yellowish under long exposure under the strong sun. We are talking about 33 deg C daily.

      vinyls like this the residue left easily comes off with warm water and a towel and they dont yellow these arent cheap iphone cases from china plastics they have a clearcoat like your car does to stop any sun uv damage oxidation damage etc.

    What do you guys suggest for a front end PPF with ceramic pro on top - which still has lots of bugs thanks to highway driving in the summer months. I was looking at XPEL Flawless Finish Paint Protection Film Cleaner followed by some XPEL Detail spray ? Any thoughts or recommendations ? I doubt Ill be washing my car after every highway trip so hoping for something which gets those pesky bugs off the car - i will probably not wait more than 1-2 days to clean them off but dont see myself doing it every time i get on the highways !

    I appreciate the video - very helpful. I will take possession of a new Audi Q7 next week. Am seriously considering this PPF. But then what? Just wash regularly, or do you apply wax, or ceramic coat, or what? What about this new graphene (Turtle Wax)? I live in AZ so have lots of sun all year round to help the self-healing properties. Does bird crap and tree sap come off? and with what? I don't want to put something on the film that will harm it, or turn it yellow.
