This video literally saved my struggle with my high and low chain tension for years and now I’ve finally figured it out thanks for a great video

On those entry level bikes the cheap chains stretch really fast, and sprockets wear out, or even bend. I upgraded my chain to a 710 and replaced the sprocket, on kink gap and this tight/loose issue went away.

I’ve been missing too many videos. I started a new job and it’s been taking up all my free time. I’ll miss a bunch, but I’m gonna go through the catalogue for sure! Always love the knowledge videos!

Once you understand them they are so simple but phu always finds a way to help us understand even more about the BMX bike. And we all thank him for that.

Also, the sprocket boss bolt has to be lined up evenly. I have Profile cranks and a Profile sprocket and it's possible to tighten the sprocket down a tiny bit off center. The placement of the sprocket boss bolt matters. On top of that, the crank spindle spacer is important also. I once had a bike that pedaled just fine for quite some time and then developed this tight- loose issue. The bottom bracket bearings were warped because I didn't put the spindle spacer in between the bearings. Swapped out the bearings for a new set and put the spacer inside the bottom bracket and the problem went away.

Asking for a friend. Could you do a “what the Foo” episode weight weenies edition? Listing bmx parts from heaviest to lightest, with likeliness of breaking in hard use on a scale of 1-10.

Thank you Phu! You answered the question I was afraid to ask. I have a brand new Subrosa Malum DDT 26in. I noticed this the second day when I adjusted the chain and was like WTF. Love the content. Keep up the great videos that teach everyone so much in a fun and professional down to earth way.

Great video Phu, I bought a Primer from a kid a few months back, he had the cranks misaligned. So no matter how much I adjusted the wheel and sprocket nut. It wouldn’t get better. I took apart cranks yesterday, greased them, took out one spacer, and now everything feels really good, it is pretty consistent now and it feels so smooth. I think my chain was off kilter a bit. Also bought a cnc sprocket.

As a machinist that works on valves not every part is going to be perfectly round, its gonna have high and low spots but they have a tolerance so I can understand on how sprockets are made..Great video
