    Well today Bmx riding really do evolve same goes with the parts, back in the days it is hard to find or to purchase parts (from where I am at, Philippines) now I don't mind if I trash my bike parts It is easy to get one... and yeah! Bmx riding really evolved

    5:24 I don’t understand why some people are still running metal pegs they chip ledges and dent rails. If you want your street spots to last longer and preserve them so you can ride that street spot over and over get plastic pegs with steel inserts the aluminium insert crush’s on your axle and the end burrs over so you can’t get a socket in the peg to change a flat tyre 👍🚲💨

    BMX has changed so much from when I was into it.
    I had a Federal Extension frame, RedLine Monster forks, Alex triple wall rims w/ RedLine Monster hubs (14mm axels & sealed bearings), Maxis Holy Roller tires, RedLine Monster neck, Pig FSA headset w/ Head Lock, Solid 1" spindle 3pc cranks, Kink 42 tooth sprocket w/ bash guard, Primo Supertendorizor pedals, KMC 420 chain, DK Pipe Bomb pegs, GT Landing Pad seat and S&M Slam bars.
    Bike was a damn tank 😂 no matter what I did I could never break anything on that bike.😂

    Phu might be surprised to learn that many of those plastic bolt on guard sprockets are heavier than most straight aluminum ones... opposite of what he said. Sometimes sitting around your bike shop on a slow day you get bored, weighing parts both fills boredom and shows you how far off actual weight is from advertised weight with most brands on all parts.

    I remember as a child knowing I would be riding for life and wondering what the future would be like , thinking about society understanding what bmx is all about .
    Here I am an ice age later and society still doesn't get it .
    I would rather see a young person grinding on his / her bike than see them looking for a safe space on the internet.
    I stumbled across this channel by happenstance . I love the wonderment that it brings 😃😊

    Grinding rails has been around since the early 90s, Phu this ain't the 80s no more. Personally, I love the amount of extra combinations the grinds and peg stalls allows, and the hub guards are a necessary addition to keep the spokes in one piece.

    How do I keep my pegs from messing up my hubs and forks I go threw a front hub and fork like nothing

    • @isnowyazn
      @isnowyazn ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hub guards. Get the proper one and check the clearance. Make sure your wheels and hubs are tightened properly, and make sure they’re aligned when tightened down.
      There’s beefier chains you can also run, to help the sprocket and rear hub teeth, if you’re not running a drive side hub guard.
      Also, the best thing hands down, is to “inner” lace your wheels. This means that all of the spokes are laced to where the j-head to the spokes at the hub, are all turned inward, so all that’s outside of the hub flange is the circular base of the spoke. This allows you to grind along the whole hub and everything (for you rowdy hub guard-less riders), and prevents the spokes from breaking off at their crucial construction points.

    Plastic pegs wtf haha. Anyone else remember back in the day having the metal Kink ones, like early 2000s, and you couldn't destroy those things. Think they were called Kink OGs or something. Using plastic nowaday because it slides better, whatever happened to the good ole waxing ledges haha. I do remember people using hubs guards and even drop out protectors for grinding. The dropout guards were just a pain in the a$$ to adjust. Hell even it's funny seeing the thing now is plastic pedals. Anyone else remember the good old Primo tenderizers haha. They griped amazingly but if you messed up and hit your shin it left scars haha. It's so interesting seeing how things have changed!

    • @dethgripco
      @dethgripco ปีที่แล้ว

      i'd go for abyss than dak. dak has thinner guard and it tapers to the edge, more so on the crank arm clearance. a buddy tried grinding on the drive side and the ledge hit on the sprocket and cracked that part where the thin part is. it still works but it already has a crack.
      i personally run the demolition axes guard sprocket (7075), a lot thicker and a lot heavier. i'd prefer a 7075 aluminum (abyss i think) than 6061 (dak and some other brands.) 7075 is tougher but will break, 6061 is softer and will bend.
