Vivaldi was always a favorite.. and with this re-composition, I feel reborn again. Simply magnificent. Thank you !

I share your love for music and dislike stats to some extent. Although, I don't with math and logic being the antagonists to art and emotion. Understanding math comes along with high analytical skills which I discovered are necessary for improving on my own art and which helps me recognize layered emotions in more difficult work of others. And coming up with a mathematical proof requires a high intuition of the subject, that's why often it may seem to have come out of thin air. Many times I had a similar awestruck feeling of wonder to that of appreciating high art while going through an elegant proof to a complex problem, making me curious about the author's disposition and his/her unique view on the matter. To me, mathematics is a thing of beauty.
This is my favourite piece of all time I spend my nights falling asleep to this and hopefully now it will be my go to music as i fight this illness further. It brings me tears joy and every emotion xx

I am 83 years old and Vivaldi's Four Seasons has been part of my life, and my enjoyment for over 70 years.I find this reimagining to be absolutely refreshing and enjoyable.Love it. This is nothing but the pristine expression of purity and ethereal beauty. This masterpiece has brought tears to my eyes like nothing has ever done before. I feel like this is what my life has always been about : playing this with my headphones on and letting myself fade away with the notes in the infinity of space and time. I'm so thankful that i stumbled across this video. I hope y'all enjoyed it as much as I did.
I think Max Richter has ascended to the next level of music, as have the performers of his music. As young musicians we learn technique, scales, repertoire, touch, how to honor the composers. It's not until we have mastered all those things that we can trust ourselves, our technique, all our practice, that we can become fully enveloped in the music and just... play. Max Richter just takes me there with his music.
I had a music professor that would always teach that the best composers take themes from previous composers then incorporate into their own style making it new and different.
I love the music, but also the sensitive way in which the video has documented the participation of each musician and the conductor, their gestures and eye contact. It reveals the unique connections between people in live performance.
I love it so much that I listen and watch again periodically throughout my life. This is possibly my favorite orchestra performance. It moves me like no other. The lead violinist is amazing, but the entire orchestra has a continuity that I just so enjoy. I love this.
Okay so .....I started crying at 10:21, which turned to full blown weeping at 17:45 . I want to thank Max ( which is short in German for Maximillian which means "the greatest") Daniel Hope & the rest of the musicians for renewing my love for the heart instrument, the violin. I can't listen to this at work. I work in construction and my coworkers are hard men. This music (symphony?) makes me weep as I imagine I would if I had just destroyed the entire world by pure accident. That wouldn't be a good look at work. It's the video I go to when I think I can't handle anymore pain. The video I watch when I'm contemplating quitting, killing, or worse...and it never fails to make all of that melt away and fill me with love, wonderment, and hope. Hope being the most addictive emotion that I have the words to express. My dream is to one day see this in person. I just hope I get to see it all before people realize I'm not supposed to be there.

You should see and hear some of the responses I get from different guys haha. Mainly fire alarm install. There's times when I moonlight as a pipe fitter with the sprinkler side and sometimes dabble in other life safety systems. How about you? Although some of the guys in my trade and others haven't hated some of this genre music, I can't say any of them went home and looked it up. So it's pretty neat to run into another person in construction who also listens to some of the finer music in life. I hope this message finds you in good health and good spirits -Nick

Vivaldi described The Four Seasons as The Contest Between Harmony and Invention and in my opinion I think he would be pleased with how Max Richter has reinvented his music with more a modern feel but still retaining the original harmony. I still love the traditional intensity and voluptuousness of Adrian Chandler's Summer and Winter versions but I adore Richter's as well.
OMG, stop it, this is too beautiful! Not the genre of music I typically listen to but it is astounding, overpowering. Then when you hear Max Richter speak about his world of butterflies, peace and war, you'll be practically on your knees. Play this as loudly as you can!

came here for the reimagined four seasons (which is truly sublime!) but stayed for the second set which I had never heard b4 and was not dissapointed. infra 5 slapped especially hard. so beautiful. peace, love, solidarity from Chicago.
How can a piece of music make you feel so much? Spring to me is the most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard. Like many others, it conjures up rapturous moments of happiness; an adolescent memory of running through fields of wheat grass, barefoot, wide eyed and hearts full. Listening to this swells my heart. I would do anything to hear this played by an orchestra in person.
This is why there is still hope for humanity! Beauty in the recognising that to be human you have to let in feelings of melancholic to be able to see happyness and light in life!
Winter 3... Here, it's a whole new level. The title of this album, Reimagining Vivaldi, is so accurate because it is not simply re-playing Vivaldi, but taking his music to an uncharted territory.

The lead violinist appears like an actual warrior in a battleground. So delicate and powerful, wiping the sweat off his face. As much as the music is hypnotizing, the visuals are as powerful. I love the fact, that he combined his tuxedo with Adidas kicks, bringing in some 21st century action. Talent is timeless. Bravo

If I would have attended this performance only anticipating the four seasons recomposed and heard the encore songs at the end I would have been overflowing with emotion. Those last two are my favorite songs by Max Richter. That audience was in for a treat but hey so are we for being able to see this recording on TH-cam!
I always say Classical music is the sound of life. How Max was able to put new life into Vivaldis work, without straying far from the original is incredible.
I close my eyes, and I am there; Standing in the beautiful nature, I see the sun rising, the cheer of excited birds, the bumblebees humming, Even the smallest details of sunlight shivering the dewdrops on the fresh blooming grass, the pollen on the flowers, their smell, the joy, the beginning of a new Spring. Nature is magic, god is real and Max Richter is a genius!
This man is a true genius. His music is on different parallels I'm not just talking the recomposed Valvadi Four season but all his Master pieces. Antonio vivaldi would be looking down and saying,' The boy has done good..
I was watching the faces of the "traditional" players, all of whom where sweating, about 25 minutes in. Max seems to provide comic relief with his spacial airy synthesis and then the "real" music comes back in. The contrast is utterly sublime. If you can get 30 minutes in, you'll know what I am talking about. Absolutely lovely. The harpsichord is angelic. The past and present are swirling. Timing is everything. We are in the present and music could not be better. The past washes over us. We are unified by it. Max is a little atonal, so present music is subversive and redundant. Its simple at times, often, but what it is referencing as far as I can tell is the general menial nature of capitalistic society. We are being dumbed down, beaten, laid to rest. But, the compendium of the event is that we are brought by genius into the spirit of two great composers. I am tied to the morose heaviness and gentle joy that comes from them. Mr. HUIZENGA, your review of the work is splendid. Thank you so much for sharing. What a masterpiece! Richter must be so pleased.
This performance is pure ultimate sublimity. I can't get enough of it. (I purchased the Berlin recording, but it just doesn't compare to the all-consuming duende of this performance 💫🌟✨ ) ☺️

I've been listening to Max Richter for quite a while and I'm convinced he's a genius, he needs more recognition!
I love classical music because of the emotion it can evoke without lyrics, I highly dislike math and stats. I avoid them at all costs.

Vivaldi described The Four Seasons as The Contest Between Harmony and Invention and in my opinion I think he would be pleased with how Max Richter has reinvented his music with more a modern feel but still retaining the original harmony.
I still love the traditional intensity and voluptuousness of Adrian Chandler's Summer and Winter versions but I adore Richter's as well.
OMG, stop it, this is too beautiful! Not the genre of music I typically listen to but it is astounding, overpowering. Then when you hear Max Richter speak about his world of butterflies, peace and war, you'll be practically on your knees. Play this as loudly as you can!

How can a piece of music make you feel so much? Spring to me is the most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard.
Like many others, it conjures up rapturous moments of happiness; an adolescent memory of running through fields of wheat grass, barefoot, wide eyed and hearts full. Listening to this swells my heart. I would do anything to hear this played by an orchestra in person.
This is why there is still hope for humanity! Beauty in the recognising that to be human you have to let in feelings of melancholic to be able to see happyness and light in life!
Winter 3... Here, it's a whole new level. The title of this album, Reimagining Vivaldi, is so accurate because it is not simply re-playing Vivaldi, but taking his music to an uncharted territory.

The lead violinist appears like an actual warrior in a battleground. So delicate and powerful, wiping the sweat off his face. As much as the music is hypnotizing, the visuals are as powerful. I love the fact, that he combined his tuxedo with Adidas kicks, bringing in some 21st century action. Talent is timeless. Bravo

If I would have attended this performance only anticipating the four seasons recomposed and heard the encore songs at the end I would have been overflowing with emotion. Those last two are my favorite songs by Max Richter. That audience was in for a treat but hey so are we for being able to see this recording on TH-cam!

I always say Classical music is the sound of life. How Max was able to put new life into Vivaldis work, without straying far from the original is incredible.
That's it you see he didn't stray far from the original he just turned on the cash machine in this dumbing down of a masterpiece.
the first part with the restless violins combined with the long dark pad is amazing give a sense of unfulfilled urgency in a good way
I close my eyes, and I am there; Standing in the beautiful nature, I see the sun rising, the cheer of excited birds, the bumblebees humming, Even the smallest details of sunlight shivering the dewdrops on the fresh blooming grass, the pollen on the flowers, their smell, the joy, the beginning of a new Spring. Nature is magic, god is real and Max Richter is a genius!
This man is a true genius. His music is on different parallels I'm not just talking the recomposed Valvadi Four season but all his Master pieces. Antonio vivaldi would be looking down and saying,' The boy has done good..

I can not be there but hear the amazing music, it touches every fiber of myself.
I was watching the faces of the "traditional" players, all of whom where sweating, about 25 minutes in. Max seems to provide comic relief with his spacial airy synthesis and then the "real" music comes back in. The contrast is utterly sublime. If you can get 30 minutes in, you'll know what I am talking about. Absolutely lovely. The harpsichord is angelic. The past and present are swirling. Timing is everything. We are in the present and music could not be better. The past washes over us. We are unified by it. Max is a little atonal, so present music is subversive and redundant. Its simple at times, often, but what it is referencing as far as I can tell is the general menial nature of capitalistic society. We are being dumbed down, beaten, laid to rest. But, the compendium of the event is that we are brought by genius into the spirit of two great composers. I am tied to the morose heaviness and gentle joy that comes from them.
