It's been around five years now, and I'm still amazed each day by the sheer quality and sincerity of this comment section, that looks like an exception when I think about "TH-cam comment section", so thank you for every word written over here.
When I was travelling my car was crossing the desert, during the most deep and dark night, and I just woke up when this song was playing on my earphones. Then, I looked up and saw the sky full of stars, and suddenly I was hypnotized by a particulary big and shiny star. I looked at her during the song, till the end. And in that moment I felt a strange feeling about that stars, the sky, the universe. I felt that all the universe was talking through the shine of the star. It was beautiful.
“To see a World in a Grain of Sand And a Heaven in a Wild Flower , Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand And Eternity in an hour.” William Blake, Auguries of Innocence
i am so sad... my mother is gone since 17,5 hours... this work gives me hope, thank u for this! love u mom, we will meet again one day... rest peacefully my mom! love u eternally
It took the universe 14 or so billion years to bring you to this moment. Reading this comment. Sharing this sound, with a few other strangers. Are you happy? Are you sombre? Who knows. Are you lucky? Infinitely.
I think that this song is the closest thing to Death .. really the voices ... The voices are like a never-ending nothingness but it's slowly embracing you. This piece is so pure ! I really love Max Richter He's amazing !
Listening to this music, over and over again, and reading the comment section, I always remember a comment I once read: "May my life be full of people who like this music" I imagine they are like distant lights which you see from a plane during a night flight over a country. Familiar? The humming sound of the "modern world" which is just "noise" to you which you have been listening for a good amount of time. And when you see these distant lights, you realize you have been craving for them. So small, so distant, so few...
I have been struggling for years with various mental illnesses, mental circles, self-loathing, self-deprecation, depression, etc. and there is no comparable musical masterpiece like this one, which gives me confidence every time. I love this song so dearly, there is so much peace in my head and in my heart. A comforting melody that takes away all the pain.
I listen to ambient music for decades. This work is a masterpiece. I wonder how it is possible to put so much emotion into music. Our generation is fortunate that we live in times when technology gives us the opportunity to express a new consciousness with music. Hopefully that will help a little to protect life on this planet from our aggression.
The birth of digital networks was indeed a new crucial step to push music forward, as much for an artist's music than for the people accessing his music. A temporary cesura from this agitated world...
If only a fraction of the beauty of this music were expressed in the mind of the people, that would already change a lot. I am convinced that major changes are possible only through a change of consciousness. More compassion, sensitivity, empathy, love and understanding for the things of this world. Music alone is not enough. But maybe a start. Einstein once said that a problem can not be solved by the means of the system from which the problem results. Therefore, we will not be able to solve today's problems with technology. Because most of the problems were caused by the use of technology (environmental destruction, wars, nuclear threat, unnecessary use of antibiotics, factory farming, etc.). So I think the solution has to be found through another 'system'. This could be the immaterial 'system', the mind, the consciousness or even the faith. I'm afraid there's still a lot of work to do. The dissemination of intellectual works such as this piece of music here is a positive example of the use of technology. It's not always just black or white.
This transcending piece touches the deepest part of my soul and makes me feel timely connected to the humans who lived thousands of years ago and those who are not yet born!
Whoa.. I woke up& clicked on a random recommended video& here I am :) Thank you TH-cam, thank you Max Richter for this great piece of music, thank you Universe for all the beautiful things you share with me 🙏
His music is food for the soul, how blessed we are to hear it, as we listen it heals the wounds we carry, washing over them with love. Thank you Max .with love jdx 💕
I played this to my nine-month-old baby last night with just fairy lights giving off a dim light in the bedroom and it was magical. It really is heavenly.
This music reveals so many things.. Sings as a sweet childhood, memory of happiness and love Sings as a sweet done childhood, not eternal.. Then I think about all the people and the situation I live now Think and understand that it's not eternal too.. Make me cry with tears of joy, nostalgia, love, sadness, fears, beauty.. Thank you
Sending you infinite kindness, healing, compassion, love if you're reading this. May your hopes for life be realized and you experience the deepest joys of living.
Already, in the first two minutes, I hear the most beautiful sound of the sirens singing, and I am ready to leap into this "non-eternal" ocean of lovely sound ...
What a marvelous piece.....Max Richter is a genius. close your eyes ... and you will be transported in dimensions where everything is light, impalpable ... evanescent, luminous ... ethereal ... A world where the passing of time has no meaning, where matter merges with spirit, where everything is One.
First time I heard, it sounded so beautiful I cried. I was astonish by how a simple sound made me feel so hollow and empty inside. It truly is by all definition a work of art!
I can imagine this music is playing when a soul is slowly leaving a human body behind and fading into the galaxy. It's surreal and untouchable and beautifully sad. Amazing piece again.
People with our music taste are a special kind of breed. We like emotional music, not because we like to cry, but because it helps us to day dream. The more emotional the music gets, the more complex my day dreams become. It fully detaches me from my life and guides me to a different world
Hi, inside my car, after a stressfull day, turned on the radio, and there it was: Vivaldi...a variation by M.Righter. I drove very slowy, couldn t concentrate but on the music. I was dreaming awake. A genius!
Sometimes it's just nice to get lost in your thoughts, listening to beautiful music like this allows you to do that- not all the time- but this music makes me stop- appreciate life and momentarily forget my worries.
So very very fortunate to be listening to this and then reading your comments, so poignant, intimate, so learned. I am very new to Max Richter, but he's now part of me. Thank you all very much.
Perfect song for one of the main characters from my story. I was trying to find something to hear while writing her scene and could'nt find anything, then I remembered this song... fits perfectly.
“Has it ever struck you that life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quick you hardly catch it going?”― Tennessee Williams
I’m in nurse practitioner school and I’ve been up for 2 days .. hard to concentrate.. but when this came on.. focus was unimaginable ... n for some reason 5-Meo-dmt is all I could think about when I stopped reading
I can close my eyes and be anyone or anywhere with this beautiful piece it's also like everyone you have ever loved that has gone is speaking in comforting serenity to you.....truly an amazing piece of music.....❣️🥺
this has to be the most elavorate description of a song I ever seen, and I love it, after reading it I just cant leave without listening to the whole song
This music really just transports you. I listen to it when i'm doing homework, and it turns my focus up to 100. It's really something else. Kind of scary, actually.
This piece makes me think of the 11th Doctor from Doctor Who (Matt Smith). You can feel an ethereal nostalgy, a sense of science-fiction in a way and an invitation to question ourslves. A true masterpiece that helps me think during my final exams.
What about Twelve? In my opinion, Capaldi's Doctor is much closer to those bitter-sweet sounds than the eleventh Doctor is, because Twelve has to deal with physically being aged.
I always imagined that in heaven with God´s presence and angels and celestial beings, something like this would be playing on the background... perhaps he downloaded it from there and brought it to us... so we can feel it, too...
This is not the language of the universe... this is a lullaby. One for someone who will not see the earth from the perspective of their own body again as they depart to somewhere we cannot see.
I love the track but I also appreciate your rich vocabulary, the elaborate ways you describe the music as well as respectful tone while writing to us. Instant subscribe.
And I really appreciate that kind of feedback ! Unfortunately, I don't have the time anymore to write the descriptions of the tracks on this channel, but maybe one day, I'll come back to it... Hopefully, the music I share doesn't need my words to shine over here, I'm glad you found something you like on this side of TH-cam !
The story of life will be but a single note cast upon an eternal wave, the crystal of its memory slowly folding in upon itself until only dust remains.
I was sent here by the word "universe" lol Sometimes I feel lost with life so I use words to lead me to something. I jot down a word that first comes to mind of each letter. The first line of words I have is "noneteov" and I type it in the search engine. As I'm searching, I eventually stumbled upon the word "noneternal" and here I am lol. This song is beautiful. I feels like it's echoing into the sky as we sing to the existence.

I legitimately love reading the comments in this type of music, definitely get the sense that I've sorta found my tribe so to speak.
I like to think it's because there is no word in the first place, you have to find you own to describe what you feel in these lands of slow sounds.
Ça fait une sacré grande tribu du coup ; )

This is the truely song of existence. The sound of the cosmos.

Похоже на молитву . Благодарю.
That is such a captivating music that I cannot stop listening to it, like I just want it to be eternal on the contrary of its name..

This is the most beautiful melody to listening to a lot of time
The story of life will be but a single note cast upon an eternal wave, the crystal of its memory slowly folding in upon itself until only dust remains.
