    Took me about 30 minutes to get this done the other day. I was able to do the passenger side without taking anything apart but the drivers side was a bit tighter. Taking out the airbox was the key to getting that done, thanks! I got big hands and got a little scratched up but happy with the outcome.

    With age comes wisdom. After 30 mins of trying to get my hands in to take the bulb out I concluded it's best to have the dealership do this.

      A normal bulb probably wouldn’t have been quite as bad, but the big head on these specific bulbs makes it harder for sure. Sometimes it’s worth paying to have someone else do it but at least you have the option haha

      Facts. After an hour of trying to do it both ways, I gave up. They make them this way so you have to take it in or spend half the day taking the whole front end off to replace the bulbs. There is NO EASY WAY. lol

      OMG. your asking for trouble, I pulled up at auto parts store to replace my low beams, I soon realize I have I guess what's called projector, I guess that's the thick round glass in front of your low beam, first I was happy to see the little circle acces in well wheel, I was happy, then I determine this does nothing to help me changey low beam bulb, there is a tube over that bulb, so be prepared to do what this guy says, take a ton of stuff apart, gees jeep how stupid can you be, I have up, but what this guy's shows appears to be the way you have to go about doing this, mine was driver side, but a person probably should do both since your under the hood with tools, also I bought the white color, first option is the original ugly yellow color, so once I get all this apart I'll be putting 2 new bulbs that's the whiter color, I gleamed at the high and for some reason it appears to be a white color already, 2017 jeep Grand Cherokee
      Good luck

    Great instructional video. Just used it to help me get the low beam lamps changed on my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The passenger side is especially tough to access. My hands were chewed up and a I even tried to get my wife to see if she could fit her hands in. Turn the passenger wheel all the way to the left and remove the front part of the inner fender liner. 1-10mm nut and 4 plastic push pins. Pull the inner fender liner back and you have much more room. The job takes about 15 minutes going in this way.

    It might be worth noting also that the wide ear on the bulb is at 3 oclock. I tried repeatedly to intall the bulb with the wide ear at the top because that is how it seemed to fall kind of by itself. It would go in but the turn did not feel right and the headlite aim was wide to the right. Once I twisted the bulb around to go in a 3 oclock, it turned easier and the aim was correct.

      Lol nah, if you pause, it was actually some other peckerhead that had 1 headlight out, and their only working headlight was as bright as the sun on low beam. That’s what happens when you jam LED and HID into a non-projector housing and have no cap on the end of the bulb. My housing is projector and keeps the light where it should be.

    Awesome video, I appreciate the time you took. I’ve changed the bulbs in my GC once and it was a PITA, especially with my big hands. PLEASE tell me that these bulbs come pre-indexed because I don’t want to have to take them back out to spin the LED’s after I get them in!

    • @TonyTheTruckGuy
      @TonyTheTruckGuy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I feel your pain lol. I couldn't tell if they were indexed or not because the back of the bulbs is pretty big so you can't see once it's in the housing, and of course it's a projector housing, so I couldn't see the bulb from the front side. The beam pattern seems good though so they must be close if not perfectly indexed. You can see the beam pattern on a wall at the end of the video here.

    After seeing this and after using after market HID's to replace my halogens, I'm considering these. The HID's were MILES ahead of the halogens but, have the tendency to not ignite at times. They seems to alternate one side to the other. No real rhyme or reason to it.

    An act of God is required to remove and replace the passenger side low beam. Especially if its been sitting in there for a few years. Someone needs to explain to me WHY tail lights are designed to be removed in 8 seconds to replace bulbs, but headlight bulbs MUST be an hour long project.

    • @TonyTheTruckGuy
      @TonyTheTruckGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TonyTheTruckGuy just did my rears today.. i know theres 3 bulbs (one red brake/turn signal bulb, and 2 reverse bulbs) on each side that are pretty easy to access (6 total for both sides) without taking much at all apart. I didnt see access to any other bulbs besides that for the rear on my 2019. There looks like there might be one or two impeded in the tail lights themselves, but honestly they way they illuminate the other len’s i dont think its necessary to get to them, if they arent already an led. The main tail lights come right out with just 2 plastic rivets. The tailgate reverse bulb is accessed just pulling a panel down. I did all 6 in about 25 minutes total taking my time. They are all completely manageable without losing your mind. The low beams in the front are another story entirely.

I've been avoiding LEDs because in the past they didn't work well as a retrofit with halogen light assemblies. • @TonyTheTruckGuy

      That’s because in most states, you can legally only have 4 forward facing lights on at the same time. If the fogs stayed on with the low beams when you turn the high beam on, then you’d have 6 lights. The only way to do it is by partially holding the high beam switch back but not all the way so it clicks. I actually have not got to my fogs yet. From what I've seen, they are still a bit of a pain, but not like the headlights. High beams are honestly easy because they are not in a projector housing, and they are closer to the center of the Jeep, so much easier to access. It's just those pesky low beams. Are you able to turn yours off with the switch? I installed mine about a year ago and cant turn them off at all. When the daylight sensor switches over to night time only one bulb comes on. I have to re start my jeep in order for both to come on even with canbus resistors from Lasfit. Works fine with halogen.

    • @TonyTheTruckGuy
      @TonyTheTruckGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No mine work exactly as they should. Do you have this exact kit, or do you have the cheaper lasfit kit and then added resistors? This kit is specifically for the Jeep To prevent such issues.

    Thank you for the vid and your code! Ordered some myself for my same Jeep. I did order some fog lights with it as well, but noticed 3000K yellow 6000K white on box…does that mean the fog lights would be basically the yellow hue that factory installed even with these new Lasfit bulbs? Not matching the high and low beams?

    • @TonyTheTruckGuy
      @TonyTheTruckGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A 3000k is a very yellow light, commonly used in the fog light position, but it will be more yellow than factory halogen bulb. If you want the fogs to match the headlights then you’ll want 6000k fogs if you got 6000k headlight bulbs.

Once rotated into a locked position it does not match the rotation in the video at the 15:06 mark. Can anyone else confirm if their install on the passenger side also doesn't look exactly like what's in the video?
