    Wanted to thank Vlad again for making this awesome video and add some tips that I think make this easier! First, wear gloves for sure because there are some sharp edges on the underlip of the car frame. Plus it will just save your hands in general. Two, use the stock o-ring and FLIP IT OVER, fitting the small lip of the o-ring into the groove. This creates the same gap size that is present on the stock lights and will make it much easier to seat the 3 prong light housing. Next, use a flashlight to see exactly where the aggressive prongs are (two prongs have an angled edge, one prong has uniform sides). It's literally like a puzzle piece and must go in this way. Once you determine its orientation, adjust the ring on the light fixture so the prongs match and the wire ends up pointing straight down when you install the light (screwing it in clockwise about 45 degrees). The LED must end up with the lights pointing towards 9 and 3 o'clock - this creates a nice, strong beam. If it's off too far, the light will scatter.

    Just changed my low beams, fog lights, and turn signals all using the products/links you provided. So far so good (2018 GC Laredo). I must say the low light on the driver side was particularly brutal. DONT FORGET TO SWAP OUT THE GASKETS. It took me a sec to remember that and I tore up my hands trying to get it in with the oversized gasket.
    Clocking isn't too bad, just remember what angle the OEM sits at before you unscrew it, and then align the 3 tab pattern on the new light to match the OEM.
    Wear safety glasses when doing the fog light or you will get an eye full of dirt.
    Thanks for the video!

I used epoxy to glue the retainer ring back in temporally, but I ordered a new light housing of course. That's strange. It could be because of the heat, but mine have been inside the housing for a 1 1/2 years without issues & I live in the desert. Maybe the ones you received have a bad LED driver. They come from China, so might be a bad batch.

    I just installed everything up front with Lasfit. The switch fogs are kind of annoying they go yellow then white when switching high beams on/off but whatever i can live with that lol
    The high beams are absolutely amazing!! And no they don't scatter light everywhere. Light is exactly where it was with the halogens, just a lot brighter obviously
    I didn't feel like messing around in the tight spots to change things out so I yanked the bumper cover and pulled the housings right out. Seemed to be easier for me to go that way 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Thank you for making this video. It convinced me to do the swap to LED. I went with your recommended brand. Thanks for the pro tip on the headlight seal. Fog lights were super easy. Less than 5 mins on both. The hardest part for me was clocking the low beam headlight bulb. I installed them today and they are awesome. But I don’t think I have them clocked right as I seem to have a dead spot on the driver side light pattern. It’s hard to do without removing the headlight assembly itself.

    • @thisguyvlad17
      @thisguyvlad17  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're welcome! Clocking is definitely a PITA, as long as the shadow on your headlight is vertical, then you have them clocked correctly!

    How did you adjust the LED headlights to the 3 to 9 position? I installed Sealights in a 2017 GC because they worked great in my 2010 GC. The Sealights are in the 2 to 8 position and do not work well. Did you adjust the Fahrens before they were installed or after?

    • @thisguyvlad17
      @thisguyvlad17  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Fahrens have an adjustable base, so it took a few tries to get them right. Basically, it's take them out, adjust, check, take them out again, adjust & check again. It took me like 4-5 tries to get it right.

  • @kctyphoon

    I highly suggest anyone that does this replaces EVERY bulb in the front of the car. The low beams are the hardest and you'll already have everything apart. The high beams are super simple, and so are the front marker lights. Its looks much better if u upgrade all of them. The high beam LEDs are great for those dark roads. Also, the fog light / headlight bulbs he suggested are polarity sensitive, so check they work BEFORE you reinstall them. I bought the same brand he shows for all my fog lights, low beams, and high beams (All white for me). It looks so much better.
    Fair warning - I've never had led headlights bulbs like these last more than a few years. Despite the "led" lasting basically forever, the electronics behind them usually fail after a few years. The last set I used in a previous car, I opted for the fan less type that just had braided ribbon wire as an external heat sink (one less thing to fail not having fans). They fit almost anywhere (I even have them on my motorcycle). Just be forewarned - dont expect them to last forever, cause they probably wont. Have to see how this brand holds up. Will be doing all the rear on my jeep later today.

I have 2 orders in my shopping history, and one bulb specifically says “fog light” in the description. If i remember right (cause its been a few months) I’m pretty sure the hi and low beam use the exact same bulb - but its the type/style of headlight lens and reflector thats different on the car - which is what makes them light the roadway differently - and not the bulb. We switched the low beams and they aren't adjusted properly. We called two different places to have them do it (because the lights were so hard to get to and we wanted to make sure it's done right), both places said they can't be switched like this because the lights get too hot and for them to do it (so they don't get hot) it's $1500. Have you had any issues with the led's burning anything? I'm not sure if they are just trying to upsell or not.

    • @thisguyvlad17
      @thisguyvlad17  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So, the LED driver (little box attached to the LED) & heat sink do get very hot when they are on & running. But, you would only need them on for like 5-10 seconds to see the beam pattern, then you could adjust accordingly.
      What it sounds like is that they just don't want to do the job, that's why they gave an outrageous price.

I did a little research and found that using the Appcar software and going in through the OBD2 port all I had to do was to set “Front fog lights LED” to SET or enabled. The 15’s use a different command for the fogs. Changing this setting tells the module to change the way the bulb is controlled. The software was $49 but WELL worth it. I customized a few other settings for him and he’s thrilled with it now. I'm happy to hear that it was helpful. Regarding the pattern, you can reach me on Instagram @thisguyvlad and I can better show you the pattern.

      Any issues with the low beams like
      Flickering or random shut offs ? I installed a set of leds they would shut off after 2-3mins installed resistors and made it worse. End up
      Using my old set of underground canbus hids from my ram but they also have a mind of there own at times

    My JGC has the premium lighting group with the bi-xenon HID headlights. The headlights are slightly yellow and I prefer white. I’ve read it’s difficult to convert HID to LED as it’s not a direct bulb swap as it is with halogens. What do you recommend?

      If you have a 2017+ JGC just upgrade your current D3S bulbs to either OSRAM CBB D3S amzn.to/3dXtGhs or Diode Dynamics D3S bulbs.

      I added HID bulbs from Amazon. They are super white, 6000K color. Originals Oskrams are 3000K so a little more yellow. D3S bulbs cost about 40 - 60 a pair. Go local and pay $149 for 3000K. Not easy to change, takes about an hour.

    What do you think about the zevo leds? I had them in my old Lexus and loved them

      The ones from Autozone, I thought about using them. I have them in my 4Runner & are great in that. I don't know about the GC. The CANBUS system for the lighting is really finicky, you can try them out & see how it works out. I'm curious to know.

      Awesome! Just a tip, test the lights with the vehicle running & not running it acts differently when the charging system is on.

    Which high beam bulbs would you recommend to match with the low beams?

    • @thisguyvlad17
      @thisguyvlad17  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Josh, to match the lows you'll want a color temp of 6500K & make sure they have an adjustable base, so you can get the correct beam pattern.
