VN24 - Battle of the giants - Tow truck in trouble - Kollmer & tractor needed

- VN24 - 24-04-2023 (D/M/Y) - Selm / Germany - A tanker truck not fully loaded with several tons of fuel oil had come on a country road on the side verge, sunk there and tipped into a ditch next to the roadway completely on its side. A non-resident towing service was ordered, which arrived with two recovery vehicles. Unfortunately, he sank one of them himself in the ditch while maneuvering nearby, so it was no longer available (see video above). With its large white Recovery Truck was now tried to recover the tanker on its own. After the tanker was already almost back on its wheels, the construct obviously got overweight, the tanker tipped back into the ditch and pulled the tow truck with it, which came to a considerable inclined position and threatened to overturn as well. Our film begins when the Kollmer company, which was then called to help, has already reached the scene of the accident with its recovery vehicles and has lifted the tanker from one side and already secured it. With the help of a tractor as an abutment and a pulley, the tanker could be secured so that the white tow truck could be detached and driven away. The second recovery vehicle from the Kollmer company followed, and together they pulled the tanker back onto the road within a minute without causing any damage. The tanker was then able to reach the company premises, which were only a few hundred meters away, under its own power. No one was injured.

The only thing the baby tanker was not hitched up to was the moon. Kollmer are the masters of recovery but come with a hefty price paid by the insurers.

This reminds me of an accident that I had in cold & wet conditions. My van ended up in a ditch & they sent a tow truck which obviously was never going to pull my van out of the ditch so then we acquired the help of a local farmer & his heavy tractor to pull the van back onto the road. My van was then loaded onto the tow truck & it looked so comical as the tow truck was a van based tow truck & with my Luton bodied box van on it the Ford Transit tow truck was surely overweight!

Kollmer returned the Beast. Not enough work for it where multiple vehicles would work or a hired crane. It was very expensive to own and maintain.
@@jamesmckenzie3532 Right decision by Kollmer. Many forget or do not know that such a vehicle is very expensive to maintain and if it is not used to capacity, it costs huge sums of money. It's just not worth it, and certainly not for the initial cost.

What can I say the professionals strike yet again well done Kollmers recovery that's the way to pull a 4 wheel tanker out of a ditch, as for the person filming the whole thing only VN24 can catch the funny side of thing's with the 2 wheel nut covers stuck in the mud and it looking like a strange wet and muddy face and they say Germans don't have a sense of humour but they certainly do thank you I'll stop laughing at this soon, another entertaining video thank you VN24, Kollmers, and the local fire service. For this one oh and before I forget thanks to the farmer with the big 4X4 Fendit tractor.

Kollmer Proffs
Kollmer hat alles richtig gemacht saubere schöne Bergung, aber ich frage mich was der mit seinen weißen Volvo vor hatte. Aber genau hier sieht man es wiederum diese billig Abschleppdienste . Keine Ahnung von nix über das Material brauch man glaube ich nix zu sagen wenn man sieht das an den Haken der Winde nicht einmal ne Sicherungsfalle dran ist weiß man das da keine gültige UVV drauf ist . Dann nach den Ölflecken untern AWU zu urteilen gibt es mehrere Öl Undichtigkeiten also ……. . (Ich reden nur vom weißen Abschlepper )
Firma Kollmer super Arbeit 👌👍 und Abschleppdienst Alibaba sollte doch lieber nur Fahrzeug Verwertung machen und abschleppen und Bergen denen machen lassen die es können 👎

Also was kostet 1 Kran die Stunde und was kosten die Fahrzeuge hier die Stunde?
Da wäre ein Kran wesentlich teuerer gekommen, vor allem weil ein Kran alleine hier auch nichts gebracht hätte.
Denn das ganze Anbaumaterial (Anschlagmittel), hat nicht der Kran dabei, sondern ist Ausrüstung eines Masterlifter (Abschlepper).
Ein entsprechendes Hebegeschirr, hatte man dann auch besorgen und heranschaffen müssen, da dies weder ein Kran noch ein Abschlepper dabei hat.
Auch kann in der Regel, der Kran im Anschluss, keinen LKW abschleppen, bzw. darf es gar nicht.
Ein Masterlifter wird zudem auch benötigt, um den auf Kipp stehenden Tanker zu sichern, damit er nicht weiter absackt.
Was, wie man sieht, auf dieser Straße (in dieser Begenheit) mit einem einzigen Abschlepper auch nicht wirklich funktioniert.
Wer also würde da sein Leben riskieren und unter einen kippenden Tankfahrzeug klettern, das selbst schon das Bergefahrzeug von den Rädern hebelt, um dort die Radmuttern freizuschaufeln und die Festpunkte anzubringen.
Denn für einen Kranhub, müssen auf beiden Seiten Tankfahrzeug Hebepunkte angebracht werden.
Auch kann ein Kran einen vollen Gefharguttanker nicht so ohne weiteres anheben, wenn er sich in einer solche Schräglage befindet.
Das wäre noch komplizierter gewesen, da man ja den Tank in keinster Weise beschädigen darf.
Und da dies nicht auszuschließen, hättre man diesen nach dem Gefahrgutrecht zuerst abpumpen müssen.
Noch mehr kosten, noch mehr Zeit.
Wäre somit also nicht schneller gegangen und hätte noch länger gedauert.
Also hätte der Kran, sofern man in hier überhaupt hatte aufbauen können, nur einen Abschlepper eingespart, dafür aber noch weitere 2 Einsatzfahrzeuge gekostet und die Sache noch wesentlich verkompliziert.
Was somit die Bergekosten erheblich verteuert hätte.
Und vor allem, versuch mal in der Nacht, einen Kran zu bekommen.
Bei Abschleppefahrer, Bergeunternehmen, gibt es 24 Std. Notdienste, bei Kranfahrern nicht. Den muss man erst erreichen und eventuell aus dem Bett holen.
Was wiederrum mehr Zeit und Geld kostet.
Was also, soll daran am Ende besser oder preisgünstiger sein?
Daher wurde hier, den Umständen entsprechend alles soweit richtig gemacht.
Manchmal frage ich mich echt, warum immer Menschen mitreden wollen, die von unserem Geschäft keine Ahnung haben.
Sie denken nicht weit genug, weil sie selber so etwas noch nie gemacht haben.

Look at the width of the road and the depth of the ditch, with nothing else around there aren't a lot of options. Old asphalt like that can rip quick, it seems like it was raining earlier too. Which not only would make it more slippery but also make the ground soft and cause more incline. Even an experienced wrecker could have made the call to try before calling for backup. The best option would have probably been to send a rotator and lift it just enough to put airbags under first, but sometimes you gotta try with what you have I guess.
