The longest running anime is Sazae-San which started in 1969 and is still going with only a short break during 2020 because of the virus.

Dragon ball started back in the 80s with the original Dragon ball and then Dragon ball z being a sequal to that

If you plan on watching the English dub (Which is pretty good) I would recommend watching Dragon Ball first then going to Kai and then Super, a lot of people will recommend Z over Kai but Kai cuts out a lot of the padding that Z has and also has better voice acting.

I cannot separate this song from my memories of Dragon Ball Z Abridged. It was honestly a big part of my high school getting-into-anime phase.

Fun fact: While Dragon Ball (as a franchise) and One Piece are largely considered some of the longest animes, there's a MUCH longer one. It's called Sazae-San, it started at 1969 and it has over 7800 episodes! And yes, it's still going.

Dragon Ball came out in the 80s I believe. Dragon Ball Z came out in the 90s. Dragon Ball Super is in the recent years

Son Goku is the protagonist (Son is the family's lastname), he is the one in the middle at the end indeed. Goku is a martial artist that loves to fight, getting stronger by training and fight even stronger enemies, this path made him to save the world many times but he is not a altruist super hero, he is just a nice guy having fun. There is a lot of things about his genetics and that transformation with blonde hair that is common knowledge at this point but for you, this is a rare oportunity to protect you from spoilers, so i will not tell you about it, but the story starts with Goku as a kid meeting Bulma, a very smart girl that wants to find the Dragon balls, a set of 7 magical items that reunited summons Shenron, a powerful dragon that grant you one wish, so she invited Goku to this adventure mainly because Goku had already one Dragon Ball in his house and for protection thanks to his great strenght, this is the catalyst for Goku to leave his home in the mountains and know the world, meeting new adversaries and training to be the very best martial artist (and beating some badguys in the process) the series extends for a long time in Goku's life, since DBZ Goku is al ready a father but the adventure continues, in DB Super we even see him as a grand-father! Who knows? The Dragon Ball series might last forever 💕

For all manga creators and readers, Dragon Ball is one of the exemplarities nowadays. If you start to watch it, you might feel like it has a common story. In fact, however, it's the other way round, Dragon Ball is a prototype.

I consider myself extremely lucky to have seen and heard this performed live at a concert at a convention by its original artist, Hironobu Kageyama. He's also in the band JAM Project, which did the song "The Hero" from the anime "One Punch Man" which I think you reacted to in that top openings of anime video.

I mean,akira-sensei(the creator of Dragon Ball) is considered to be the "Spiritual Father" of modern day shounen animes(shounen being for teen male audience),a lot of shounen animes take inspiration from Dragon Ball in general.

If youre curious about the story of dragon ball, i would highly recommend reacting to dragon ball z abridged, by the youtube channel "team four star" they recreated each episode of dragon ball z, but made it funnier and removed episode fillers, while still keeping the same story.

If you do start watching this series. I recommend starting with the OG Dragon Ball and then Dragon Ball Z since Z is technically a sequel. It would be fun to watch you react to one of the OGs that inspired so many other popular series and genres in anime.

I remember watching dragon ball Z, inuyasha, and yu yu hakusho on toonami when I was little. Those were simpler times.

Dragobnball is one of the main influences on stuff like One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, HunterxHunter. It's THE starting point of the genre as we think of it today, to Japanese manga and anime what superman is to American comics, in that most of the things you know about these types of stories, visually, narratively, and structurally, can be traced to this one thing. A huge portion of adults outside japan (probably inside as well) got started watching anime with DragonballZ, though we wouldn't get its predecessor Dragonball, at least on broadcast tv, until later.
