dragonball kai and super are kind of the same to dragonball , z and gt as fullmetal alchemist brotherhood is to 2003 reboot/remake while goku is a kid in dragioon ball , becomes a father in z and the small versions are his children :P but that is what someone who never seen it know so i might be totaly wrong the blonde versions are just the same people just flexing to another power level
Luke now that you’ve done the animes OPS, you should do the video game OPs. There’s a video with a every game OP but the majority of the early ones are just title screens because they were on old consoles. If you skip up to GT Final about you’ll get to the ones that look like OPs for the anime.
This story takes place over 40 something years. Goku was a kid at the beginning and grew up, got married, had 2 sons and a granddaughter. So the series is multigenerational.
@@itszefasI forgot she appeared in Super 😅 I have a stronger impression of her from GT since she was very present and integrated into the plot. In Super she just exists
Hope this helps! 2:49 That is child-Goku. *Goku* when he was 12 years old at the start of the series 4:12 That is adult *Goku,* with his first son, *Gohan* 6:39 Guy on the right is not related. But when I was a kid, even I got them mixed up a few times. 7:04 This is teenage *Gohan,* but with yellow hair... 7:12 This is young adult *Gohan* (early 20s?) 8:25 This is *Goten.* Goku's second child (Younger brother of *Gohan)* 9:48 Pay close attention here. This is adult Goku, and then shortly after, child-Goku again. Weird, right? 11:56 Here we have *Pan.* This is *Gohan's daughter* (Goku's grandchild) 13:38 Blue Goku is Vegeta 16:34 Yellow Goku is still Goku, but with yellow hair!
@@lLucaDGVThey’ve been flip flopping recently, but the most recent iteration is Gohan (Kid), Gohan (Youth), Gohan (Teen) and then Gohan in Super is referred to as Gohan (Adult)
I love how the simplest answer of, "oh Goku had kids" NEVER crosses anyone's minds when they react to these openings completely blind. They just start making up theories about how he has clones and things like that.
Most of the battle shonens, modern ones especially, end with characters barely living a year in their universe. An actual, well written timeskip considered as a brave move. And even then, it's only one or two years. Funny how skipping a lot of time and changing your main character design was wild and unprecedented back then, and it still is today.
@@morganf.1562 Dragon Ball doesn't really skip a lot of years. In DB, Goku just looks younger than he is, around 2-3 years pass in the entire story, and he gets a massive growth spurt. Z is just a 4 year time skip from Dragon Ball, with Goku not changing. That said, it is a cool feature that Goku gets buffer over the course of Z.
I am pretty sure someone's probably explained this by now, but the lil dudes that you confuse for Goku are his sons lmao, the first one with the shorter hair is his first son who grew up (and is the one in the Mr. Satan car) and the second son is the lil dude who looks like a literal replica of him
There's this thing in life called having kids. It's when an adult makes a little version of themselves called a child. In some instances the child resembles the adult that made it. That's what you're seeing. Jokes aside I do find it funny how you jumped straight to clones and time travel (though it doesn't help that in one of the op's he literally turns back into a child, the only time you didn't comment on it).
Because of how old the series is, there are different dub openings for different regions and even different openings for what company actually did the dubbing. I think there is even an english version of the very first dragon ball op. The whole dragon ball localization gets pretty wild.
yes absolutly! i personally would also recommend him the german version of those songs, this was peak in german dub, openins today are mosttime sub only or but never translanted and by my opinon todays german dubs are not good as back in childhood times.
There is an English version of the Dragon Ball op! Funimation had it done when they finally fully localized the show and it's great. It's basically a straight localization of the Japanese song and it's titled Mystical Adventure.
"Mi corazon encantado" in spanish is the name of the song. And I can listen to is non-stop. Even though it is no longer the canon ending it still hits me like a nostagia truck. Edit: the name I got it conmfused
Seeing him so confused about all of the Goku look-alikes has made my day 🤣 Edit: he is so confused about the entire show and I felt that on a personal level
Kai isn't an HD Z re-released. It also cuts out a lot of the 'Filler', which might be good for new people watching, but I've heard complaints about some of the most funny and best moments were in some of the fillers that were removed as well. (Personally I never watched the Kai version. I watched the Namak Arc and Buu Arc only of the original series, Android Saga just never aired while I was a kid/teen growing up, they always just did reruns of the Namak Saga from beginning to end, then restarted again, and my cousin only had the Buu Saga on VHS Tapes, so I completely missed the Androids and Cell growing up lol)
"Dan Dan Kokoro Hikareteku" of Dragon Ball GT will always be my favorite DB opening. I just love the vibe of adventuring, it brings back the memory of the OG Dragon Ball.
Hironobu Kageyama (Kage-chan, as he sometimes likes to be called) who performed Cha La Head Cha La and We Gotta Power, is an absolute icon in the anime and tokusatsu industries. He's sang 48 songs for the Dragon Ball franchise alone! (according to a dbz wiki) I saw him perform at AnimeNYC twice! The first time he was so stunned that people in NYC, in the 2010s, knew and were singing along to a song he made back in the 1980s in Japan. He looked like he was having the best time ever.
The video game openings are arguably better than the anime OPs. Ore wa Tokoton Tomaranai!! from Budokai 3 and Battle of Omega from Raging Blast 2 are fucking awesome.
@@KegOfMeat oh god i love both of em so much but not as much as super survivor from budokai tenkaichi 3 mostly cause i loved playing it at my cousins house on ps2 and for some reason that version but not the wii one had the voiced one on it
These openings are by far some of the most nostalgic you can ever hear. Of course that is due to the fact that they're super old... but also that they became so iconic among the community that when we fans hear it we instantly regroup together, even in public spaces. Gotta love Toriyama for making such an amazing serie :) Edit : You also have no idea how much you roasted the anime without knowing it 😂 you confused Goku with Goku's sons and Krillin with him too... that was genuinely fun to watch. For someone who's never seen Dragon Ball or know anything about it you managed to understand a tiny bit of it at the very least, great reaction ! (by the way, "Blue Goku" is Vegeta xD)
If you ever see big Goku and little Goku together then most likely it's one of his two sons, one kinda looks like him, the other is completely identical. If you want more 80s anime OPs check out all of the Gundam OPs, half of them are from the 80s and 90s. City Hunter is another one with those vibes.
I feel like all you really need to know about the series to get into it is: If you get all the dragon balls, you get to make a wish. Very simple as a starting point. It does get dark at more hectic times, but its in a very light-hearted action package.
Luke calling everyone Goku sounded like my mom thinking everyone was Goku😂 I love this reaction. I watched DB when I was 5 years old and still love it almost 30 years after 😂 You should watch it, it's a funny, silly fighting anime but can get serious times to times. I'm not sure if it suitable for you to watch it with your kids. It has a lot of nudity and sexual jokes, not that bad but just you know. There's a lot of "violence" and blood. But I think it's just how anime was on that years. Nowadays no anime it's like this if is not intended only for mature audience, even Dragonball super has tone down a lot. Newer generation are more fragile 🤣
@@ShiroganeKaiser Kid Goku appear naked from time to time, also Bulma on the classic, have a lot of scenes where she's naked or half clothed. Also Maron and the one who chance personna with a sneese, have some scenes too.
8:57 Dragonball is an action-comedy, they just so happen to do the action part REALLY well and focused a bit more on it during Z. But the series was originally made with comedic intentions.
I agree that Dragonball is more of an action-comedy up until the last season. Dragonball Z is an action series with some lighthearted moments. Dragonball Super returned to its action-comedy roots. DBZ is still the best Dragonball series overall, though.
@@chris200830 In your opinion at least, but I think the original Drgaonball was the best, Z is a bit too edgy and has some pretty noticable plot holes... And it seems like things are kinda made up as they go along... At least with the original Dragonball we easily can expect something new to pop up since little to nothing about the world was explained prior, but if the Red Ribbon army could make stuff like 16, 17 and 18, sure it took time to develop the technology but they imply Gero never even bothered until then. Was he newly hired? he's kinda old so probably not. Not to mention why is 16 stronger than 17 and 18? They explain why he's sealed away, cause he's just as rebellious to Gero as the two teens, but how is he stronger when he's fully mechanical like some of the first Android models from the original Dragonball? Z doesn't make sense and hides it behind it's flashy fight scenes. Which although impressive, I'd prefer the better world building and adventure focus of the original than that...
12:59 Each and every one of Goku's friends was an antagonist, villain, or tried to kill him at one point, Desert Bandit Yamcha, his first rival Krillin, Reincarnation of the Evil King Piccolo, Tien and Chaoutzu (can't spell the lil guys name) former students of the ruthless crane martial arts school, Prince of the Sayain Warrior Race Vegeta, Majin Buu, Androids of the evil Red Ribbon Army 17 and 18... Bulma, his first ever friend and interaction with the outside world literally shot him *_with a gun_* when they first met... Thankfully he's bulletproof or the series would have been only 1 episode in length if not for fir that...
13:48 Blue Goku is Prince Vegeta, and he's recognizable by his widow's peak that goes into a mountain hairstyle. He'd be appalled being compared to Goku if he were real... I find the idea of comparing Goku and Vegeta like that absolutely hilarious because of that.
I don't mean anything bad but I found hilarious how the idea of a son never crossed his mind. In the other hand yeah it's kind of confusing. Great reaction 👏 I think some other people mention that the songs changed with the dubbing. I'm from a spanish speaking country and I love both versions. This themes are iconic.
lol true but to be fair growing up in anime is pretty rare. Usually characters stay the same age and rarely ever have kids or get into an on screen relationship for that matter.
Bro just watch it already! This show is and will always be one of the best, a certified classic and a big reason to why anime got popular in the first place.
what always amazes me its that for me as a Mexican boy, this is super nostalgic, DBZ openings and endings will always be a big part of my childhood due to Ricardo Silva's OP directly translated from the japanese version, but for some friends born and raised in the US this opening are nothing else but a curiosity, and thats due to 4kids changing openings and ost to a major part of animes, (looking at u, Digimon).
I love it whenever first time people reacts to dragon ball, they always think goten and gohan are just some version of goku without putting the thought together that goku himself can have kids
The little Goku you're referring to is actually his son Goten lol, they have the same face basically haha. The purple cat named Beerus is the God of Destruction, he's one of the most powerful characters in the series and he's also one of the newest characters, he's been added in Dragon Ball Super. With the 7 Dragon Balls you can summon a dragon called Shenron who can grant any wish (not really everything but almost haha). Lastly, Dragon Ball will turn 40 in November 2024🔥
Believe me, every child grows very strong and well watching this show. This is the father of every great anime (such as Naruto or One Piece). It may be not my favourite but it's a piece of story and a must watch for every anime fan. P.S.Yes, you can definitely watch it with your children. Every child should watch DB
To someone who's never seen DB before, I can see why it can get confusing, but the best way to describe it is that the series takes place over decades. The main character is Goku, who we follow since childhood, but the other kids who look like him are his sons, Gohan (the one in the purple clothes) and Goten (the one in the orange clothes). Piccolo (the green guy) USED to be a villain, but became a good guy after training Gohan. The guy in blue with the widow's peak is Vegeta, who ALSO used to be a villain. The reason the show is called Dragon Ball is because the heroes periodically collect the 7 dragon balls, which grant wishes. There's a lot of crazy stuff in the series, such as monsters, demons, talking animals, dinosaurs, robots, cyborgs, aliens, gods, angels, time travel and universe hopping. Here's a good way to dissect it via openings: -Opening 1 takes place during Goku's childhood. There's actually two versions, the one in the video is the second version which starts from the King Piccolo saga. -Opening 2 (DBZ) takes place after a time skip when Goku already has Gohan. There are 3 versions of this opening (4 if you count the 2009 OVA). -Opening 3 (DBZ) takes place after another timeskip to the Buu Saga, when Goku is dead and Gohan is a teenager. The other kid is Goten, Goku's other soon and Gohan's younger brother. -Opening 4 (DBGT) is a NON-CANON timeskip where Goku was accidentally wished back as a child. There are two versions of this opening, the second one is in this vid and shows him going Super Saiyan 4 at the end. -Opening 5 is from the remaster of DBZ, Dragon Ball Kai, so it reverts back to the beginning of DBZ just with touched up visuals and the filler trimmed off. -Opening 6 (DBK) is the remaster of the Buu saga. -Opening 7 (DBS) takes place after the Buu saga but before the end of DBZ (which was the last few episodes of the previous series). There are 4 versions of this opening, and the one you watched was from the Goku Black saga. -Opening 8 (DBS) is a tournament arc where people from across the multiverse fight for the survival of their universe. While the anime has ended for now, the manga and movies have been continuing the story even further. There's also spinoff anime based on an arcade game called Super Dragon Ball Heroes, that in itself has a bunch of openings.
Finally the DBZ openings!!!! It’s over 9000!!!!!!! Plus Cha-la-head-cha-la, the second opening is the most iconic Also I watched all those when I was a kid as well, but DBZ was always and still is my favourite, you really need to jump on the DBZ train and watch it, all your questions will be answered
Dragon ball (the first season) is Akira Toriyama's version of "Jurney to the west". A classic tale about a monk that frees the mischievous and overpowered demigod Sun Wukong, and the adventures they have in their travels. And from dragon ball z to date, every season is entirely about "characters we know battle new and more powerful characters while the earth / galaxy / universe / multiverse is at stake"
8:07 There's a guy, a perfectly normal human being named Satan in Dragonball, (in the English dubbs he's oftentimes called Hercule) he accidentally tricked the entire world into thinking he's the one who saved mankind on multiple occasions and Goku and his friends actively support his hero fascade so they can live peaceful lives while Hercule gets all the fame and fortune (and whenever possible he does help Goku out financially since they're pretty much best friends thanks to this hilarious dynamic.) Hercule (aka Mr.Satan) is essentially the symbol of peace thanks to his deceptions and all the real superhumans, Androids, space aliens, and actual gods, are just perfectly okay with it.
5:58 Dragons in Dragonball come in 2 types: 1) Probably actually just dinosaurs with inexplicable fire breath 2) Wish Dragons (Summoned by the 7 Dragonballs, most are capable of receiving someone at minimum once.)
Goku has two sons. The first one is Gohan and the other is Goten. Gotten looks like his dad. -Goku gets turned into a child during Dragon Ball GT which has since been made Non Canon. Kai and Z Kai are the series which tells the same story as Dragon Ball Z but with better animation quality. And regarding Dragon Ball Super. It was made after a special was made that gave us new Dragon Ball content after years of nothing. One more thing: Blonde Goku is actually a form. And the Form is called Super Sayian.
I was wondering why We Gotta Power sounded different, GOT got the English version. I just looked it up too because the voice sounded almost the same as the JP and today I learned the original artist also sung the EN version! Amazing.
in the second opening the man who is holding the stick is goku and the little boy is gohan his son later goku also gets another son named goten who looks alot more like goku than gohan does. dont know if its confusing xD
9:25 "They have the same hair and everything! It's throwing me off! That's the same dude!" It can get more confusing if you watch the sub. Goku, Gohan, and Goten are all voiced by the same woman. Yes, woman. Masako Nozawa has been voicing Goku since 1986. And she voices Goku's 2 sons. When each is children, teens, AND adults. All the screaming powerups in the 2018 show were done by a small 80-some year old lady. XD
Day 86 of recommending the Beyblade openings. There are the Japanese ones and the English ones. The English version has one opening for a generation, and that for the 1st and 2nd generation. The 3rd gen has one op for one season. But the Japanese version has multiple ops for a season in any gen. You should definitely check both versions out. I made playlists on my channel, so you don't need to search, cause in those compilations are a few off and not in the correct order. Thanks for checking out!
I do find it funny how it seems like the fact that Goku had kids eventually never seemed to enter your mind 🤣 GT I understand why, but the rest of them. Also the DBS anime stopped in 2018 with two movies being released afterwards, but the manga is still ongoing
I'm surprised you didn't think about this, but Goku has 2 sons. They both wear identical or near identical Martial Arts Gis (the orange outfit) throughout the years. His oldest is simple to identify because even as a kid, he's had a different hairstyle. He's the on riding on adult Goku's shoulders while cloud riding in the early intros. From there, time passes, and he has a second son who is near a carbon copy of goku as a kid down to what he wears. In fact, the only noticeable difference of appearance between kid goku and his second son is his son has long sleeves on his Gi lol. (Note that kid goku had a much different animation style, so you never really have seen goku as a kid with up to date art and animation except for flashbacks and movies).
All of Dragon ball is connected and time moves forward in the show so the characters get older and all that, i love seeing the progression like that. Great reaction as always and if you're looking for more Dragon ball music to react to, allow me to recommend Ultimate battle by Akira Kushida it's one of the most iconic songs from the Dragon ball super anime and plays during a very important scene. You'll love it!
I simply love watching anime openings, my country has always had the habit of broadcasting anime, and years later when I had access to the internet I remember looking for the Japanese versions of the ops, from then on I try to watch all the openings that I can at least one turn. And yes, the first Dragon Ball is quite old (1986)!
Dragon Ball has an artstyle where many characters have a similar face. If you were to watch it and get used to it, none of them would look like versions of Goku to you anymore. Except Goten, one of Goku's sons who has the same haircut as him.
The one you commented looked like a big animation upgrade is a remaster of the portion of the story from the second and third opening (Dragon Ball Z), fixing some animation errors, redoing a few parts, and mostly removing content that was sanded as filler that wasn't in the original story to help restore a better pacing. If you watch this, you might start with Kai because it opens with a recap of the first part of the story (Dragon Ball), or start with the original season and switch to Kai at that part of the story. Not that the original is bad or that there's big story differences like FMA vs Brotherhood, but I think Kai is a lot easier to watch than Z because it fixes a lot of the "5 minute battle takes 30 episodes" trope that Z was notorious for.
The old style of anime is different from new anime, a lot of new fans of anime find old anime “slow” or “boring” in comparison to newer anime but for us growing up watching it, it’s awesome lol the DB series, Saint Seiya and Sailor Moon were my fave anime growing up :)
After all this time, we're finally here. I'd love if you just went on a binge of general childhood favourite anime openings like Digimon, Pokemon (though that one might be a bit dangerous because of Shopro's copyright claims for anime footage), Yugioh, Beyblade etc.
9:39 In that scene it's Goku and Goten (however in the next intro for Dragonball GT, that's Goku transformed into a child thanks to the Black Star Dragon Balls.)
To put it simply, in the first op, that's Goku as a child. In the 2nd op that's Goku all grown up with his own child called Gohan. In the third op that's Gohan grown up with his little brother Goten, who is the spitting image of Goku. And in GT that's Goku turned back into a child.
About "seasons", its shonen from before "season" era, it was made in long series. First one is Dragon Ball, when we meet Goku as Child. Second one is Dragon Ball Z, when Goku is adult and starts his own family. Third one, the one with this hairy dude at the end of opening is Dragon Ball GT. It is now not canon continuation of Dragon Ball Z. Another series is Dragon Ball Kai, it is remake of Dragon Ball Z in modern quality. But it is worse in some points. At this point if you would watch there is many movies that are not canon, some kind of alternative story, and some canon specials. Those are missed here. Back to video, there is opening for Dragon Ball Super and it is canon continuation for DBZ. It has crossover called Dragon Ball Super Heroes which is crossover betwen DB Super and DB GT. There are also two movies that are alternative for DBS and two movies that are continuation. Let people here know if you wanna watch Dragon Ball, we will make you a list of what is canon what is not canon. Also, there is fan parody called Dragon Ball Abridged created by Team Four Star. It cover three from four saga's from DBZ and it is epic.
Also, Dragon Ball is not a good anime but fun anime. It is simple but affected entire genre of anime. It is due to Dragon Ball why comedy battle shonens get so popular around 90' / 00'. Due to Dragon Ball in shonens we have so much "inner demons", transformations, enemy to friend cliche, dumb hungry protagonists. It is painfully simple and fun to watch.
Bad guys turning into good guys isn't a foreign concept in anime. In fact, it also happens all the time in wrestling, which inspired the shonen genre of anime and manga.
I only watched up to Z (well GT but we don't count that, see below) so here's my best attempt at a summary (major plot points, not super spoiler-y). Dates are all anime, not manga Dragon Ball (1986-1989): Son Gohan, an old man and martial artist living in the mountains one day finds a baby abandoned near a river decides to take him in. He named the baby Goku and taught him the basics of survival and martial arts. By the start of the story, Gohan has already mysteriously "disappeared" and Goku was living alone. One day, a young girl named Bulma, came around on a strange machine (a motorcycle) and met Goku. She told him that she was looking for dragon balls and shows Goku that she has a radar that can track them down. They go all the way to Goku's house and it turns out that the 4 star dragon ball happens to be what Goku was taking care of as Gohan's heirloom. Bulma explains that there are 7 dragon balls in total, and once they're gathered in the same place, will grant you any wish. She eventually convinces Goku to help her look for the other dragon balls and they set out on an adventure. Along the way, they meet Krillin, a young monk aspiring to be a martial artist and study under Master Roshi, the turtle hermit. Goku and Krillin managed to convince Master Roshi to take them in as students and they begin a "Karate Kid style" training montage (non fighting, unconventional strength/technique training). This is where Goku got his start as a martial artist/fighting person. The rest of the story is split between the World Martial Arts Tournament arcs - where they compete and meet various other martial artists (Yamcha/Puar, Tien ShinHan/Chiao Tzu), and fighting the Red Ribbon Army - a military group also seeking to gather the dragon balls. Finally, the series ends on Goku fighting against Demon King Piccolo and later his son, later known as just Piccolo. Dragon Ball Z (1989-1996): We flash forward a few years and Goku is now married and has a child, who he named Gohan after his adoptive Grandfather. We quickly find out that Goku is actually an alien race called the Saiyans and he lost all his memories because he hit his head shortly after he landed (where grandpa Gohan found him, not that he would have much memories as a baby anyway). They accidentally reveal the power of the dragon balls and ends up inviting other Saiyans (Vegeta/Nappa) to Earth. These Saiyans end up killing most of the group but Goku/Krillin/Gohan manages to push them back in the end. We learned back in Dragon Ball that dragon balls are only allowed to bring someone back from the dead once (though there's been some inconsistencies with this). They then learned that Piccolo's home planet (yes he's an alien too) also has dragon balls (since they were the creators, we learned this in Dragon Ball as well, except not the alien part), and these ones don't have such restrictions. So they set off to that planet. This is where they meet the alien overlord Freeza, who also learned of the dragon balls from Vegeta, since Vegeta is/was working for him, and through a bunch of plot points they end up beating him and manages to make their own wish and bring back people who died in the previous arc. The rest of the story just has increasingly more powerful beings show up on Earth (Androids, Cell, Majin Buu) for various reasons and they struggle then ultimately win against them, saving the Earth/Galaxy/Universe from total destruction each time. Sometime during the story, Vegeta becomes part of the team (kinda) and marries Bulma and have a kid named Trunks, and Goku has a second son named Goten. Dragon Ball GT (1996-1997): An anime original (manga author checked out at this point) about another set of black star dragon balls, which are more powerful than the original set, existed on Earth. Through basically a gag accident, Goku was wished to become a child again. For some reason, if the black star dragon balls are not gathered again within the year, the planet which the wish was made on will explode. The black star dragon balls also scattered across the universe instead of just on Earth after a wish is made. So now, child Goku, grown up Trunks, and Pan (daughter of Gohan and his wife) go on an intergalactic adventure to retrieve the black star dragon balls. Dragon Ball Kai (2009-2011, 2014-2015): Due to Dragon Ball Z airing at the same time that the manga was coming out, the anime ended up having a lot of filler. Kai is basically an HD remake of Z without any fillers. Dragon Ball Super (2015-2018), Super Dragon Ball Heroes (2018-present): The manga author comes out of retirement due to popular demand (and allegedly to denounce GT). I haven't watched it so I can't comment much, but this is where Gods (Beerus) and multiple dimensions/parallel universes get introduced.
The reason those 2 kids look so much like Goku is those are his 2 sons Gohan and Goten. Also the point of the Dragon Balls is that when you collect all 7 you can summon that giant green dragon and he'll grant you any 3 wishes you want with very little limits on the scope of the wishes.
the thing with dragon ball is it covers a long time span for the characters, as it goes from kid goku to adult with a child (the one you see with him in the second opening), to a second child thats the spitting image of him as a kid and then GT (a anime original story set after the ''end'' of the show years before super was even announced and basically retconned the whole thing from GT) that basically takes goku and turns him into a kid from the schemes of a villain as more or less an attempt to nerf him so the story could continue without making goku more ridiculous then he already was in terms of power but then went back around to do it anyway. Some people love GT others hate it, its a highly debated and controversial topic. On a side note animes back then didn't really spoil as much as they do now in their openings which is why you see from the KAI openings onwards a lot more spoilers as its just a rerun of the anime with much higher animation quality and less filler, this would eventually lead onwards towards the eventual release of battle of gods movie and resurrection F movie both then becoming part 1 and 2 of the super anime.
I strongly recommend listening and watching openings and endings of the anime K Project. The first opening is called "Kings", and it is performed by Angela. The first ending of Tsumetai Heya Hitori.
8:42 Dragon Ball does go through stretches of “peacetime” which usually have amazing, fun slice of life episodes. Then some inciting incident will happen, and the punching starts. The characters usually get their asses beaten pretty thoroughly at first, and they have to go train. It can get pretty brutal.
Damn listening to the original DBZ opening is such a vibe. I watched DBZ Kai so I always knew Dragon Soul as THE Dragon Ball Z opening. So when I booted up Xenoverse for the first time and heard that I was shocked
I love all the multiverse theories people come up with whenever they see Gohan when reacting to dragon ball openings and him being his son never comes up. It's kinda funny how they overthink it, and understandable if they never heard of Gohan.
"A galaxy of people that want to fight, they want to fight for these dragon balls, and if they get them then... woohoo?!" Probably the best summary of the franchise ever.
DBS is taking a bit of a hiatus, they have released two DBS movies since the end of the last tournament arc, DBS : Broly, and DBS : Superhero. I think one of the JP VAs died, so they are also taking time to recast her. Fun fact : Goku has been voiced by one japanese woman since his first introduction back in the 80s. Woman is like 70 years old now and she still screams like a champ when doing the power up scenes.
Since you used to watch digimon growing up… Here’s a playlist for all the Digimon Japanese openings for the all the main anime seasons, I really recommend you try them to see the difference between the English version you might remember and what the original versions are like. th-cam.com/play/PLlHvRFmrcTI9o6BQf_aR9gDRrlUiKZX6P.html
Oh yeah, Digimon songs are the best!! When I graduated, everybody got to pick a song for when they went to pick up the diploma. I picked Brave Heart! 😁❤ That song and its lyrics are freaking epic!
It’s funny how he thinks that people with the same clothing or people that look similar to each other have to be the same person like people can where the same clothes if they want to and if people look similar idk it could be the fact they are related or part of the same race lol 😂 It’s always a blast seeing you try your hardest to understand things but always over complicate things when sometimes they are simple, it’s always funny and I have a great time watching the vids 😁👍
This one is a very long running series that is still going on until now. The latest movie is last year and the Manga is still going on. He has kids, his best friend has kids, his rival has kids, heck even his kids have kids now. There's a reason why in GT he become kid again but he's basically grown adult turned to kid, so it's still adult
Day 16 of requesting a reaction to the following openings: Chivalry of a Failed Knight op Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress op Darling in the Franxx op Kiznaiver op You could make a multiple op reaction for this. Thank you!
Rest in peace Akira Toriyama, creator of dragon ball, Z, Super, dr. Slump, sand world and inspiration to so so many other mangaka. R.I.P. to a true legend, never to be forgotten.
The reason you're not seeing villains is because you're watching the first versions of each opening. With different versions the visuals change but the song stays the same. The openings you watched are the ones shown before any of the villains are introduced.
Dragon Ball = When Goku was a kid Dragon Ball Z = Starts when Goku already have a kid and ends when Goku has 2 kids and 1 granddaughter. Dragon Ball GT = Right after Z Dragon Ball Super = There's a 10 year gap between the 2nd last and the last episode of Z, this fills it Dragon Ball Kai = Basically Z with modern technology and graphic, also shortened, a cut version, getting rid of unnessassary part that makes Z so long.
Oh man, my favorite is the Dragon Ball GT opening, Dan Dan Kokoro Hikareteku. It's such feel good song every time I listen to the song, it brings back the good old memories, It's still one of my favorite anisong. Also If you're looking for recommendations, I suggest the openings and endings of Rurouni Kenshin / Samurai X. Those are also great nostalgic 90s music options.
I like Samurai X, but the first opening is really... not that good. But all the other ones are SUPER! Fourth Avenue Cafe (L'Arc~en~Ciel) is my favorite Edit: I take it back: the second open is quite anoying 😅
Dragon ball: kid goku going on adventures fighting people Dragon ball z: adult goku and his son gohan saving the world from alien threats Dragon ball z (part 2): adult goku, his teenage son gohan, and 2nd son goten fighting pink boy Dragon ball gt: adult goku gets wished back to being a kid adventure around the universe collecting black star dragon balls and fighting people (not canon) Dragon ball kai: a retelling lf z without the filler and with updated looks Dragon ball super: goku fighting gods and other threats, also making threats to then fight.
Great video. Can you react to the Japanese Digimon Openings. They really go ham with the music, especially the First OP, which is one of the best anime songs of all time.
I can't wait for you to eventually watch the entire series. It's iconic for a reason. Also, yes, the story is continuous from Dragon Ball through Z into Super. GT is basically an alternate timeline after Z, that wasn't written by Akira Toriyama. It's also not really that good, IMO. But the entire canon series is absolutely amazing.
14:24 That desert is pretty much the warfield where nobody's around for miles, perfect for fights that have cataclysmic effects on the surrounding landscape as contrary to an overpopulated metropolis like in every western superhero film.
But yeah that desert is still on earth, most characters in the series can't fly between planets due to humans simply not able to breath in space and Sayains being nearly identical to humans aside from the monkey tail and small not immediately observable biological differences...
10:35 Just a cultural clash. The Japanese have a sense of decency that differs from that of some western countries, which has led to many amusing moments (censored in the west) in the first season of Dragon Ball, especially with Bulma.
Dragon Ball: The original series. Dragon Ball Z: Sequel to Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball GT: Originally a sequel to Dragon Ball Z, but has since been declared an alternate timeline. Dragon Ball Kai: Remake of Z, covering the same story. Dragon Ball Super: Sequel to Z, replacing GT as the "main" timeline. Dragon Ball: Goku is a child. Dragon Ball Z: Goku is an adult with 2 sons who resemble him, Gohan and Goten. Goten in particular looks pretty much identical to child Goku. Dragon Ball GT: Goku has been magically de-aged into a child. His sons, Gohan and Goten, are now older than him. Dragon Ball Kai: Same as Z because it's a remake. Dragon Ball Super: Same as Z/Kai, except everyone's a little older because it's a sequel.
Your 1st reaction to a Dragon Ball animation should be the DUBBED "Battle of Gods" Movie. It's a simple generalization of what Dargon Ball is about with its fighting, silliness, and the given plot behind the actual Dragon Balls. Plus, with the Dub, you might find Lt. Hughes' voice. 😀
outside of non-canon one shots by toriyama, Goku never meets his younger self. the first small kid next to adult Goku is his son Gohan, and his second son that you see on the dragons head next to a now grown Gohan is Goten, whom you probably mistook for young Goku since he looks identical to Goku.
Awesome reactions as always, Luke. Though if I had to give one complaint about it, is the We Gotta Power (one of Z's opening) was the english dub instead of the original japanese one, so I'd suggest you do a reaction to that one with other Dragon Ball related OST or maybe even another unrelated anime opening or ending 👍
@@TheErsu I thought the voice sounded familiar, but it wouldn't be the first time a dub matches the original's voice tone quite well. Anyway, I'll always prefer the original over other language. Many things are lost when translating 😔
i love how Luke can't compute the fact that Goku grew up even though the series has been around for 25 years - For context, the original Dragonball focuses on Goku's life as a kid and teenager Dragonball Z focuses on on Goku becoming an adult warrior and during the show he gets married and has two kids, and; Dragonball Super is the latest continuation of the series about his adventures with his family, friends and frenemies Also, we NEED Luke to react to "Legend - A Dragonball tale" if he hasn't already
Dragon Ball is amazing, but I confess that I'm not a fan. The old animes that were part of my childhood were Sailor Moon and Saint Seiya, by the way you need to react to the Saint Seiya openings, it's a classic.
The Saint Seiya openings and ending themes are among my favorites. Soldier Dream was sung by Kageyama Hironobu, who also sings Cha la Head Cha la, We Gotta Power and many other songs on the Dragon Ball Z soundtrack. Sailor Moon has many good songs too. Moon Revenge and all the ending themes.
Im so used to the german openings that i thought, wait why is this so different lol. Have you ever considered to react to dubbed Anime openings? A lot of older Animes have very good dubbed openings (can only speak for german ones though)!
The (still on-going) story of Dragonball starts with Goku when he is 8 or 12 and follows him until he grows up into an adult and has a kid named after his grandfather; Gohan, and then later Gohan grows up as well and Goku has another kid named Goten. That's why it looks like there are 2-3 Goku's at all times. Oh and in GT Goku was cursed with being made into a child again. And yeah, Japan during the 90's didn't feel any shame about featuring male child genitalia front and center. It's worth noting regarding villains that Goku has a long history of making his villains into his friends. First was Krillin, then Tien Shinhan, then Piccolo, then Vegeta, the Androids #17 and #18 and then Buu. From Dragonball Z onward, they go to another planet and then in GT that is basically the entire adventure. The point of the Dragonballs is that you collect 7 of them and you can get a wish granted, as long as it is within the limits of its creator. So of course, there's also other creators who made other special dragonballs. Timeline wise by the way it goes Dragonball - > Dragonball Z/Kai - > Dragonball Super -> Dragonball GT. Kai is just a filler cut version of Z. Between GT and Kai there was a hiatus of 20 years.
I love how everyone who hasn't seen dragon ball looks at Gohan and Goten ,thinks it's different versions of him and never once guess that he has children😂
Please consider reacting to the following :) - Kuroko No Basket (a lot of opening and endings, all great) - The Idaten Dieties Only Know Peace (soooo underrated!)
I love your reaction videos to anime openings and music. The excitement and emotion reminds me of myself when I experienced them for the first time, or even now. I have to point out that there all some missing from the video you watched, different versions really but still part of the openings experience. th-cam.com/video/j1NqxqkA_rE/w-d-xo.html I recommend this for the openings. th-cam.com/video/xq6POolOHho/w-d-xo.html This is the original English version I grew up with. ITS A BANGER. Dragon Ball Z was my first anime and my favorite tv show growing up. It wasn't until years later I found out that it is a continuation of Dragon Ball, the original series that had came out years before hand. The series has continued to this day, with Kai, and now Super. I'm a huge fan and continue to enjoy it to this day. I'll try to quickly summarize it so it is less confusing, without giving spoilers. Dragon ball is loosely based on the classic Journey to the West story. Akira Toriyama, the creator of the Dragon Ball manga, based Goku around the main character of the classic, Son Goku, or Son Wukong, depending on which version you read. There are 3 main series in the Dragon Ball franchise. Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball Super. Dragon Ball is the original story and name of the manga. It tells the story of kid Goku, a kind, dim witted boy with a tail who loves fighting and how he meets and befriends Bulma(the girl with blue hair in the first opening). Together they set out to find the mystical dragon balls, said to grant one wish to those who finds and brings all 7 together. A journey awaits them filled with friends, enemies, magic and wonder. Its a good mix of comedy and action, taking key points from martial arts movies from the 70s and 80s that inspired it. Dragon Ball Z is the second series, continuing the story years later. Goku has now grown up and married, having a child of his own named Gohan(the child with him from the second opening). This series revs up the action to 10, mixing in sci-fi elements. It still has some comedy, but it focuses much more on the action. There is space travel, Aliens, and even old foes from the Dragon Ball Days. The 3rd opening is still Dragon Ball Z, but takes place after a time skip. Gohan has now grown into a young adult and the smaller child that looks just like Goku is in fact Goku's second son, Goten. They look so similar because of their genetics. Dragon Ball Super is 5th series in the franchise(3rd being Dragon Ball GT, 4th being Dragon Ball Kai). Super takes place right after the end of Dragon Ball Z and continues with the action and sci-fi themes. It's a good show for both old school fans and new fans. Dragon Ball GT is the black sheep of the family. Unlike the first 2 series, or even Super, GT wasn't taken from the original manga or created by Toriyama, but was created and produced by Toei Animation as an anime exclusive sequel to the original anime. In this Goku is transformed back into a child by a wish and has to recover a different set of dragon balls to both save the world and get his older body back. Toriyama did do a few designs, and even the name, but overall had very little to do with GT. Dragon Ball Kai, in a nutshell, is Dragon Ball Z but slimmed down. They removed just about all the filler material and kept it as close to the original manga as possible, updating some scenes with new animation. It takes Dragon Ball Z and streamlines it for a faster viewing experience. There are of course all of the movies and specials, and even Super Dragon Ball Heroes, but that's for another time.
Collect seven Dragonballs, summon the great dragon, get a wish granted. That was the original premise of the series. A girl shows up at the doorstep of a little boy living in the mountains looking for some magic artifact. That's how everything started.

dragonball kai and super are kind of the same to dragonball , z and gt as fullmetal alchemist brotherhood is to 2003 reboot/remake
while goku is a kid in dragioon ball , becomes a father in z and the small versions are his children :P but that is what someone who never seen it know so i might be totaly wrong
the blonde versions are just the same people just flexing to another power level
Luke now that you’ve done the animes OPS, you should do the video game OPs. There’s a video with a every game OP but the majority of the early ones are just title screens because they were on old consoles. If you skip up to GT Final about you’ll get to the ones that look like OPs for the anime.
Please do every dragon ball ending ever (dragon Ball, dragon Ball z, dragon Ball super, and dragon Ball GT) they're better than the openings.
Totally not mark makes good videos that could help you understand what is going on. Start with the dog dragon ball videos.
Almost forgot about dragon Ball z kai too
This story takes place over 40 something years. Goku was a kid at the beginning and grew up, got married, had 2 sons and a granddaughter. So the series is multigenerational.
Also a granddaughter if you consider Dragon ball GT
@@fabiosparPan is in super as well though
1. They said granddaughter, and 2. You dont need to count gt since pan appears in Z and super as well

4:12 That is adult *Goku,* with his first son, *Gohan*
6:39 Guy on the right is not related. But when I was a kid, even I got them mixed up a few times.
7:04 This is teenage *Gohan,* but with yellow hair...
7:12 This is young adult *Gohan* (early 20s?)
8:25 This is *Goten.* Goku's second child (Younger brother of *Gohan)*
9:48 Pay close attention here. This is adult Goku, and then shortly after, child-Goku again. Weird, right?
11:56 Here we have *Pan.* This is *Gohan's daughter* (Goku's grandchild)
13:38 Blue Goku is Vegeta
16:34 Yellow Goku is still Goku, but with yellow hair!

Mostly correct but “Teenage” Gohan is actually only 11 whilst “Adult” Gohan is only 17

I love how the simplest answer of, "oh Goku had kids" NEVER crosses anyone's minds when they react to these openings completely blind. They just start making up theories about how he has clones and things like that.
Tbf one of his kids is identical too him and they all wear the same clothes lol
It's probably because anime likes to make complicated plots to keep things interesting and that people don't always jump to the simplist conclusion.
@@nataliereeves3594 it's more so that all the designs can be very similar

Sorry, that was meant as an addition to your comment for @GOTGames.
Wait, what??? Hold on... people can have kids? I never knew! Holy shit thank you so much
Because of how old the series is, there are different dub openings for different regions and even different openings for what company actually did the dubbing. I think there is even an english version of the very first dragon ball op. The whole dragon ball localization gets pretty wild.
For Beyblade, too!
All i think know is Big Green Dub
yes absolutly!
i personally would also recommend him the german version of those songs,
this was peak in german dub, openins today are mosttime sub only or but never translanted
and by my opinon todays german dubs are not good as back in childhood times.
@@Jam2109not sure on other countries but here in Brasil Dragon Ball openings get a dub to this day. Both Super openings and every ending were dub
There is an English version of the Dragon Ball op! Funimation had it done when they finally fully localized the show and it's great. It's basically a straight localization of the Japanese song and it's titled Mystical Adventure.
9:43 I don’t care how many people dislike GT, if you were a kid in the ‘90 and this doesn’t give you literally goosebumps you’re dead inside
"Mi corazon encantado" in spanish is the name of the song. And I can listen to is non-stop. Even though it is no longer the canon ending it still hits me like a nostagia truck.
Edit: the name I got it conmfused
Heck, I was born early 2000 and still watched it. We had the dvd of gt and all. So no matter what people say, I'll always love it
I choose GT than super😊
i wasnt born in the 90's but trust me i love the song
DBGT opening and ending slap so hard. I say you that.
Seeing him so confused about all of the Goku look-alikes has made my day 🤣
Edit: he is so confused about the entire show and I felt that on a personal level
😂
The most confusing part is the fact that even though super was made after the story, the story line is set before it, which confuses a lot of people.
Classic Dragonball is great, a lot of people skip it and go straight to Z, but it's really good imo
(ps: Kai is just an hd Z re-release)
Yeah, you can't really fully appreciate Z if you don't watch OG Dragonball first.
People skip Dragon ball ??💀
*-Goulag-*

Hironobu Kageyama (Kage-chan, as he sometimes likes to be called) who performed Cha La Head Cha La and We Gotta Power, is an absolute icon in the anime and tokusatsu industries. He's sang 48 songs for the Dragon Ball franchise alone! (according to a dbz wiki)
I saw him perform at AnimeNYC twice!

@@nicodalusong149 Yes Indeed! He sort of dragged them along with him the second time he was at AnimeNYC. It was a great time!
These openings are by far some of the most nostalgic you can ever hear. Of course that is due to the fact that they're super old... but also that they became so iconic among the community that when we fans hear it we instantly regroup together, even in public spaces. Gotta love Toriyama for making such an amazing serie :)
Edit : You also have no idea how much you roasted the anime without knowing it 😂 you confused Goku with Goku's sons and Krillin with him too... that was genuinely fun to watch.

80s Gundam music is good Gundam music. City Hunter has good songs too. Especially Angel Night from City Hunter 2.
Heck yeah, both Gundam and City Hunter. Real good picks.
I feel like all you really need to know about the series to get into it is:
If you get all the dragon balls, you get to make a wish. Very simple as a starting point.
It does get dark at more hectic times, but its in a very light-hearted action package.
Dragon Ball is still on-going! No TV show airing at present, but the story is being continued both as a manga and a series of movies!
Luke calling everyone Goku sounded like my mom thinking everyone was Goku😂
I love this reaction.
I watched DB when I was 5 years old and still love it almost 30 years after 😂
You should watch it, it's a funny, silly fighting anime but can get serious times to times.
😂
Lot of nudity? Idk about that lol.
Which although impressive, I'd prefer the better world building and adventure focus of the original than that...

lol true but to be fair growing up in anime is pretty rare.
In Dragon Ball the villains becomes very often friends of the heroes that's why
The best examples are Vegeta and Piccolo (the alien guy)😊
Here's a good way to dissect it via openings:
-Opening 1 takes place during Goku's childhood.
Plus Cha-la-head-cha-la, the second opening is the most iconic

@@DarthSherm94 9000 was an American dub error that was corrected to 8000 in Dragon Ball Kai.
@@markinder100 I know it was that’s why I said it was the original dub but yet it’s so iconic
5:58 Dragons in Dragonball come in 2 types:
1) Probably actually just dinosaurs with inexplicable fire breath
2) Wish Dragons (Summoned by the 7 Dragonballs, most are capable of receiving someone at minimum once.)
One more thing:
Blonde Goku is actually a form. And the Form is called Super Sayian.
I was wondering why We Gotta Power sounded different, GOT got the English version. I just looked it up too because the voice sounded almost the same as the JP and today I learned the original artist also sung the EN version! Amazing.
I think he sings English versions of Cha-la-head-cha-la, that opening and also We were Angels. Love his English version of We were Angels.
in the second opening the man who is holding the stick is goku and the little boy is gohan his son later goku also gets another son named goten who looks alot more like goku than gohan does. dont know if its confusing xD
9:25 "They have the same hair and everything! It's throwing me off! That's the same dude!"
It can get more confusing if you watch the sub.
Oh yes, pleasee! Let it rip!!😂
I do find it funny how it seems like the fact that Goku had kids eventually never seemed to enter your mind 🤣
GT I understand why, but the rest of them.
Except for GT, that's another timeline, a Grand Sidestory so to speak...
The GT opening is just one of those timeless classics 🥲
Luke reacts like Saint Seiya openings, it's a classic just like Dragon Ball.
Saint Seiya is one of my favorite animes.
Yes, Beyblade please!
Dates are all anime, not manga
Dragon Ball (1986-1989):
Son Gohan, an old man and martial artist living in the mountains one day finds a baby abandoned near a river decides to take him in.
Dragon Ball Z (1989-1996):
We flash forward a few years and Goku is now married and has a child, who he named Gohan after his adoptive Grandfather.
Dragon Ball GT (1996-1997):
An anime original (manga author checked out at this point) about another set of black star dragon balls, which are more powerful than the original set, existed on Earth.
Dragon Ball Kai (2009-2011, 2014-2015):
Due to Dragon Ball Z airing at the same time that the manga was coming out, the anime ended up having a lot of filler. Kai is basically an HD remake of Z without any fillers.
Dragon Ball Super (2015-2018), Super Dragon Ball Heroes (2018-present):
The manga author comes out of retirement due to popular demand (and allegedly to denounce GT).
_"Galaxy people who just wanna go around and beat each other up"_ - GOT Games
Truer words have never been spoken.
Yes Dragon Ball can get very dark, but it is a lot of fun!
As a kid I really really loved it
12:37 this opening is a basically like a redo of Dragon Ball Z, with better translation and animation.
I recommend checking out "Dragon Ball Super: Opening 2 - Limit Break X Survivor" official english dub version of the last DBS OP
Since you used to watch digimon growing up…
Here’s a playlist for all the Digimon Japanese openings for the all the main anime seasons, I really recommend you try them to see the difference between the English version you might remember and what the original versions are like.
th-cam.com/play/PLlHvRFmrcTI9o6BQf_aR9gDRrlUiKZX6P.html
I'll second that recommendation, English dub viewers got shanked in terms of openings on that show.
Oh yeah, Digimon songs are the best!!
When I graduated, everybody got to pick a song for when they went to pick up the diploma.
I picked Brave Heart! 😁❤ That song and its lyrics are freaking epic!
Yeah, like for Beyblade too
I agree Japanese Digimon songs are a must listen. Especially Slash, One Vision, Biggest Dreamer, Brave Heart, Butterfly, and Evo.
I still know Brave Heart by memory c': such a beautiful song
It’s funny how he thinks that people with the same clothing or people that look similar to each other have to be the same person like people can where the same clothes if they want to and if people look similar idk it could be the fact they are related or part of the same race lol 😂
It’s always a blast seeing you try your hardest to understand things but always over complicate things when sometimes they are simple, it’s always funny and I have a great time watching the vids 😁👍
Vegeta would absolutely go bonkers if he heard someone call him blue goku.
Day 16 of requesting a reaction to the following openings:
Chivalry of a Failed Knight op
Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress op
Darling in the Franxx op
Kiznaiver op
You could make a multiple op reaction for this.
Dragon Ball = When Goku was a kid
Dragon Ball Z = Starts when Goku already have a kid and ends when Goku has 2 kids and 1 granddaughter.
Dragon Ball GT = Right after Z
Dragon Ball Super = There's a 10 year gap between the 2nd last and the last episode of Z, this fills it
Dragon Ball Kai = Basically Z with modern technology and graphic, also shortened, a cut version, getting rid of unnessassary part that makes Z so long.
Man I am not used to hearing some of these DBZ openings in Japanese, but they do sound amazing.
No cap, whenever i hear Dan Dan Kokoro and Kuu Zen Zetsu Go im teary eyed
Oh man, my favorite is the Dragon Ball GT opening, Dan Dan Kokoro Hikareteku. It's such feel good song every time I listen to the song, it brings back the good old memories, It's still one of my favorite anisong. Also If you're looking for recommendations, I suggest the openings and endings of Rurouni Kenshin / Samurai X. Those are also great nostalgic 90s music options.
YESSS RUROUNI KENSHIN!!!
From Rurouni Kenshin, I like Heart of Sword by TM Revolution.
I like Samurai X, but the first opening is really... not that good. But all the other ones are SUPER! Fourth Avenue Cafe (L'Arc~en~Ciel) is my favorite
Edit: I take it back: the second open is quite anoying 😅
Dragon ball: kid goku going on adventures fighting people
Dragon ball z: adult goku and his son gohan saving the world from alien threats
Dragon ball z (part 2): adult goku, his teenage son gohan, and 2nd son goten fighting pink boy
Dragon ball gt: adult goku gets wished back to being a kid adventure around the universe collecting black star dragon balls and fighting people (not canon)
Dragon ball kai: a retelling lf z without the filler and with updated looks
Dragon ball super: goku fighting gods and other threats, also making threats to then fight.
Great video. Can you react to the Japanese Digimon Openings. They really go ham with the music, especially the First OP, which is one of the best anime songs of all time.
So, part of dragonball is like jojo's bizarre adventure: most of the allies are just villains you've beat up enough to make them become your friend.
Have you never heard of people having children before?
chill
Normal person: Oh I think that's Goku's child they really look a like.
Luke: It's the same person
The german versions of the 1st (normal Dragonball) and 2nd OP (Dragonball Z) are really good. Maybe worth a check too.
Yea, many old anime have multiple language ops, like Beyblade for example or Pokémon, One Peace. I'm German too, so I know them too😁
*Luke seing Goku everywhere*
Me 😭😭😭😂😂😂😂
Awesome reactions as always, Luke.
Though if I had to give one complaint about it, is the We Gotta Power (one of Z's opening) was the english dub instead of the original japanese one, so I'd suggest you do a reaction to that one with other Dragon Ball related OST or maybe even another unrelated anime opening or ending 👍
That was not from an English dub. That was Kageyama Hironobu singing in English, but it was surprising to hear the English version of We Gotta Power.
@@TheErsu I thought the voice sounded familiar, but it wouldn't be the first time a dub matches the original's voice tone quite well. Anyway, I'll always prefer the original over other language. Many things are lost when translating 😔
i love how Luke can't compute the fact that Goku grew up even though the series has been around for 25 years -
For context, the original Dragonball focuses on Goku's life as a kid and teenager
Dragonball Z focuses on on Goku becoming an adult warrior and during the show he gets married and has two kids, and;
Dragonball Super is the latest continuation of the series about his adventures with his family, friends and frenemies
Also, we NEED Luke to react to "Legend - A Dragonball tale" if he hasn't already
Dragon Ball is amazing, but I confess that I'm not a fan. The old animes that were part of my childhood were Sailor Moon and Saint Seiya, by the way you need to react to the Saint Seiya openings, it's a classic.
All the Saint Seiya ops, my favorite childhood series, I support the request!
Moon Revenge and all the ending themes.
love the reaction man, was laughing at your take the whole way 😂
Im so used to the german openings that i thought, wait why is this so different lol.
Please consider reacting to the following :)
- Kuroko No Basket (a lot of opening and endings, all great)
- The Idaten Dieties Only Know Peace (soooo underrated!)
You should definitely do a reaction to the English openings to Dragonball. They did an excellent job recreating the feel of the Japanese openings.
Indeed. Some are literal dubbings, but the new ones are awesome as well. Rock the Dragon is pretty iconic in its own way. 😎👍
Except GT’s.
That one is terrible
@@westonmeyer3110 Actually that one is one of my favorites in English. The voice of Edward Elric sang it (Vic Mignogna).
I think he forgot that kids are basically miniature versions of their parents.
I love your reaction videos to anime openings and music. The excitement and emotion reminds me of myself when I experienced them for the first time, or even now. I have to point out that there all some missing from the video you watched, different versions really but still part of the openings experience.
th-cam.com/video/j1NqxqkA_rE/w-d-xo.html
I recommend this for the openings.
th-cam.com/video/xq6POolOHho/w-d-xo.html
This is the original English version I grew up with.
