Not a gen z here but young millenial (27 years old): I have slightly wavy hair and have been kind of tired of refreshing it each morning, so recently I've been trying to blow out my hair and I am soooo glad big, bouncy hair is coming back 90s style because something that would make me feel pretty insecure as a teenager was not having that more pin straight flatter effect after drying my hair... Gonna embrace my inner Yasmeen Ghauri and keep on esperimenting with voluminous blowouts😌... Also I love your content and your direct, honest approach to talking about hair, the Jesus Christ hair comment had me dying😂

Dont go to kentucky or southern Indiana if u dont luv the mullet. This area is still stuck in 1987. Massively- Mullet Central. They are stuck in a bad time warp, for sure. 😖😖😬💩🤢 they put these monstrous billy ray cyrus mullets on their- young'uns too. 😮 even some women have them. These are not the modern, stylized hybrid fancy ones either. These are the old skool, homeschooled hick/redneck mullets of the 80's......nothing fresh or current or modern about 'em. 😉 its like living in 1986, everyday. The way they dress too. 👎 kinda bizarre......

I’m a curly girl and I just want to figure out how to get Julia Robert’s hair. I’ve been doing the same basic layered cut for the last six years. I also want a curly hair revolution bc the girls are out here curling their hair and leaving the ends straight which is killing me inside.
I’ve been growing out a pixie and it’s almost at my shoulders now. I got a little shaggy bob and it made the grow out so nice.

I have a natural ashy salt and pepper at 37... it looks like natural grays but I just died it dark Auburn on a whim and cut in that bombshell disconnected layer curl look. It's fun!

I have never been into following trends at all, but during 2020-2021 I felt low after a break-up and I started to be more into being up to date about what's new and trending. I have learnt my lesson from going for a balayage. Basically I'm pretty much low-maintance when it comes to altering my hair. I like it long, blunt-cut and max with a layer (best option is face framing). I prefer myself with colour 3, darkest natural brown, we added a bit of dark violet number 2 (something) to spice things up. Don't get me wrong I'd like to try a lot things, but I refrain myself from doing so because of potential damage. I invest a lot in
dermo-cosmesis, but I like my hairstyle and make-up pretty much natural...

I cut my hair chin length ( a bob I guess) during the summer, and I can't believe I waited so long to cut it. I think short hair is timeless, it's so easy to look polished all the time.

My natural hair colour is ash blonde and I couldn't agree with you more on the ash blonde trend. My skin tone is pale with cool pink undertones and I feel it's one of the few skin types that can get away with it. When girls with darker or warmer skin tones get ash blonde they look aged and dull. It's wild to me because I've always envied girls with warm honey skin tones and golden hair. It looks so healthy and vibrant and summery.
Yeah I think it only looks good on these girls if they have on a full face of makeup and are going for an alternative look. But not for daily use.

I am sick of braids MAINLY because my clients keep coming back with damaged hair 🤦🏽♀️. And I want to see more people wearing their hair out of protective styles. I’m okay with people adding tape ins I tips etc. But more natural textures and more scalp.
I don’t think braids with synthetic hair are healthy to wear back to back without giving your scalp and hair a break.
@@BrittneyGrayI will definitely be telling them this in a newsletter. I do not braid so, they go somewhere else for them. I do silk presses and keratin treatments mainly. They also said their real hair is getting boiled along with the synthetic as well too.

I have a roomful of wigs, and most all of them are not lace fronts. Lace front wigs are a pain in the butt sumtimes to deal with. So i just always order the wig styles that are not made with a lace front. Basic cap wigs. They are lower in price too. ❤😁

In Sweden super light ashy hair with fake tan has been very very popular since like 2019. It clashes so much; the hair's coolness makes them look even more orange. I hope natural skintone without fake tan will be more popular in 2024 cuz its more likely than Swedes accepting their hair is now dirty blonde and not white blonde.

OMG these past hair trends remind me of jewelry trends I can't stand. I am SO sick of seeing dainty layered necklaces! Or layered necklaces of any type. That look is over as far as I am concerned!!! Also, teeny, tiny, itty bitty dainty pieces that you can barely even see. About beachy waves I 100% agree. I mean, I was tired of those approximately five years ago! You would see photos on salon websites and they would just have page after page of beachy waves with balayage highlights!!! It looked so basic, imo. People love saying kanekalon braids are protective. I don’t see how. It’s a great long term and efficient style but if you’re trying to maintain health and thickness getting braids back to back won’t be conducive to that.

I really love that choppy or feathery layered bob with straight bangs, and it's so rare that I see it. Your bangs in the video match exactly what I'm talking about. The early 2000s alternative, punk but preppy, look is super cute on the right girl. On the 40 year old karen? I'm over it.
The beachy wave look is so done. I just think of the most basic ass girl with the least important things to say. I also agree on the ashy hair. It really only goes well with people who have a deeper and warm skintone. Otherwise you're gonna look like a ghoul. Even still, that look has been on its way out for quite some time.
As a stylist I'd just be happy to have people start using shampoo again.. this past year I've had older greasy guys..no hate.. sir in my chair and tell me they're not washing every day cause it's " bad for their 12 hairs" lol
