Basically back to the 80's. That's my childhood.😂
That’s exactly what I was thinking!
1985 here 👋 I was like, oh … so I got this then 😅
I'm still growing my already long hair out to my waist. I've followed enough trends. I'm doing what I like.
Mel, I've been watching your videos for years, almost 4 years now, and let me tell you truly, this hair just fits you so so so so well, I can't stop staring at your face!!!! Literally so stunning
retweet!
Recession friendly hair cuts and styles! i'm loving it
Drinking nettle is something a lot of Polish haircare fanatics have been doing for years :D and a bunch of other herbs like horsetail but nettle is king. Yeast with warm water has been big for hair growth too, but in my experience nettle tea goes down easier xD love your videos!
I love this ❤ I too went the BOB route and I wanted to cry at first because it was soooo short! Shrinkage is real! But you helped in boosting my confidence and I am forever grateful for that and now this BOB is just SLAYINGGGGGGG! ❤
Just hearing you talk about short hair is making me itch to pull out the scissors. It's not even that long (unless straightened) but styling it is starting to feel like a chore and I think a cut will help... I think I know what I'm doing on my next day off😄
Love bobs; they're a great reset length for me when I've gone too long without a cut or need a change or I'm starting over with a new stylist. Strangely enough, I went to a new salon a few weeks ago and the stylist literally told me she could not cut my hair because I was asking for a "complicated" haircut (a bob). It was a good filter for both of us, as I want a stylist who is capable of cutting a bob and she'd like a client who never goes above the shoulder blades. And I might add, these salons are charging $100+ for a "cut"! Anyway, YOUR bob is the most chic and I'm learning a ton from you, thanks!
FYI: Mielle has created the Rosemary Oil, but a Lightweight version (Currently available at Target) for those with finer hair texture in case anyone was interested. 😉👍🏻
i also feel like scalp care will be more popular! eva nyc just dropped a new scalp product today, and i think more companies may be following!
Mell, your videos make me so happy! 💜 Great work!
YES TO ONE STYLER PRODUCTS!
I think your predictions are right on but I can't help but wonder when frizz will return in full force. We've seen it pop up a little here and there but this trend toward volume is bound to lead us to full on frizz at some point. In fact, you mentioned punk rock curlies and I think rocking frizz is probably the most punk thing a person can do. In the 80s crimping your hair was really nothing but artificial frizz if you think about it. But, eh, maybe I'm already jumping to 2025 here? lol
My curly hair is poofy frizzy and my husband loved it that way so that’s how I have been rocking it for a minute with my Farah Fawcett bangs. Totally embraced my inner 80’s childhood, but don’t with style!!! 😂
@@DeathByBlonde1 I love how we get to relive our childhood hairstyles but with MUCH better products. lol
I want more frizzy styles!!!
Looove these videos at the end and start of every year! Also, looking amazing, Mel ❤
Your “P” drawing…I died! Hahahaha! 😂
I bought the Overnight Blowout set! It's so easy to use. It works for a blowout but it also works for overnight between day 2-3 to add volume back to my natural waves. I also love that it helps even out where my waves fall in some areas but curlier in others without using water.
Happy Texture Thursday!! Been waiting all day for this!! Much love and happiness!! Xoxo 😘
Loved this series can’t wait for spring/summer
I love seeing these every year!! Definitely went and did a chop last year 🙌🏼 also totally caught that drawing at 14:35 😂love your channel per usual 🥰
I always look forward to watching your videos.
The way I just scheduled my appointment to get cherry cola hair 😂. Mel you’re right on!
Love this video & the predictions sound marvelous!
Love some more one product reviews! Especially for traveling!
TY! Mayor Mell!! I love the bullet aids and the white boards. -----Cant wait to see Amanda's make over!
Cool!
Thank you for sharing ❤
YOUR THE BEST, MELL. YOU REALLY ARE. ITS A DELIGHT TO WATCH, LEARN AND LAUGH WITH YOU. ❤
Yes Mell….you are on the money. I cut my hair around the same time you did and I am loving it for us. I do want to let it grow but am loving it now!!!
I love your videos I have super curly hair growing up I tended to straighten it alot and I mean alot but over the last few years of watching your videos I have learned to embrace the curls.
That’s amazing news, I hope you feel just as beautiful wearing both hairstyles ❤️
@@ManesByMell Thank you so much.😊💖
@@ManesByMell The Pantone color 2024 is Fuzzy Peach 🍑.
@@ManesByMellMushrooms 🍄 hair shapes I thought jellyfish 🪼 shape would be trending in 2024.
Love this. I have just had an Italian Bob, mostly because I had some seriously colour damaged hair , so I decided to have as must as I dared cut off and embrace my natural hair, which was a honey but is now mostly grey. Because I would rather have soft bouncy curls and waves that a fabulous colour with the downside of dry, damaged waves. So I am accidentally on trend, which has to be like the first time ever I have been on trend.
The illustrators were great examples of what you were presenting. Great job!!!👏🏻
I usually don't watch long videos... I'm suprised that I almost came to the end but you're awesome Mell🙌🏼👑
I love your videos have been trying to be earlier but we have different times and I have to sleep when you post but I love your vidoes and look forward to watching them every Friday morning
Yes! Please continue with the one-styler series. Thank you.
Yes continue the one styler series ❤
I am going to be LIVING in my big hair era ❤ Im so excited for this!!
Going to try for my first time ever doing bangs! I’m excited but so nervous. Love this video!
your energy is infectious, love the predictions!
I love everything about this vid, you serving looks, the knowledge you have, the information you deliver, the way you said Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate, the key ending up being a p, its all a vibe 😆💯
Agree with everything you said 😂
Loved your hair. It's stunning girl 😍😍😍
You always look good but I think your bob is phenomenal..you’re an inspiration 😊
2024 = less is more. I'm finding the less product I use, the better my hair behaves. I'm going for bangs this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Mel 💕
love it!! I love your bob! It suits you so well!!
What about bangs & glasses? I like them to soften my forehead, but it's not easy figuring them out.
also, your current cut and colour looks stunning. it really suits you!
I can’t wait to see Amanda’s hair! I’m currently growing out my bob because I miss my long hair so I’m hoping that it’ll be mid length in like a year!
The drawbacks to taking almost ANY supplements, they take at least a solid month of continuous use & consistent amounts before you might begin to notice any results or benefit. This is especially true when it comes to hair &/or skin supplements. Oftentimes people give up on a supplement long before that & then give a poor review that it “does nothing”. It takes A LOT of patience to see it through that timeframe. I feel a solid 3 months is a perfect amount of time to be able to say I truly tested a supplement & can provide some good feedback. We may see results before 3 months but supplements don’t normally work quickly & giving them time is important to see if it’s doing what it supposed to. Idk how much hair, skin benefit a person can get drinking supplements as a tea, I’ve not tried it. I’d be curious though.
Agreed. Heck it may even take longer.
Right on the money with a few trends at least in my town...and i did go back to super extra side part around xmas last year and felt silly but i love it too much to change. So seeing your prediction made me laugh and smile
OK for us GenX girls, we have a lil awkward HRC (Hillary Clinton) memories of the 90's. Are headbands okay for us 40+ curly girls, in terms of us not trying too hard to be youthy while also being okay that we're not still 20? haha
Okay Mel, too funny. I just love your videos 😂😂😂
Totally cool that you are a Canadian! I'm a fellow Canuck..love the vids!
Yes please! Continue one and done product series 😊🙏🏼
Loving this video 😂😂😂❤
I just have to say that this particular cut on you is perfection! I like it more than the long hair!
I want to cut my hair. I have been putting it off for a while now but it's time for me to cut my hair. I'm still learning about my hair.
Keep your videos coming, love.
PS I am obsessed with your hairstyle! 🥰
P.S. Do you know any male stylist on TH-cam? My son has curly hair and lately, he has wanted to embrace his hair. I want to help him.
Big hair? Nice, take me back! More bond repair leave ins would be great
You're looking beautiful Mel You've slimmed down and it suits you.....All the best for 2024 from down under in Australia, but have relatives in BC Canada. Chisel end pens are great for writing on boards btw.
I absolutely love her hair cut and color rn!!!
Can you do a video on "ponytail damage" and how/why it happens? I basically live in braids/braid outs with my hair tied up and I'm trying to fix my curl pattern by giving myself a break..
I’m so excited to get chunky highlights ❤
I just love you. HOw am I just finding you now? My loss but now my gain. I've been binge watching all your videos. I need your help!!! Yess!!! I love you I love you I love you!!
Your skin is glowing!
lol when you mentioned layers 😆I’m actually going to be cutting my hair into layers soon ☺️
My style is now on trend again. I'm rejuvenated! 😄
1:47😂😂 GIRL you made me crack ur hilarious❤
Hello from northern New Brunswick Canada 🇨🇦 I almost spit the wine out of my mouth and peed my pants laughing when you said “my key looks like a P” 😂😂😂. Thanks for the info and I’m looking forward to this year’s hair trends.
24 all about glam at last !? Bigger accessories along with jewellery too
I’ve already the long Italian wavy shaggy style , so easy, love it
I cut my hair to a really short bob recently that I'm now trying to grow out until spring. Since I have finer hair I've gone back to blunt cuts.
Omg! The end! I’m dying!!!😂
Also, quick question: since you don't recommend coloring "chunky highlights," could they be achieved with semi permanent color like at-home toner Overtone? Actually I don't do highlights anyway but as a silver-haired gal, I do sometimes use toners to give grey strands a little oomph without damaging my hair by coloring it. And I love that they wash away without the dreaded skunk line. 😄
I love your haircut, Mel! What would you call the style of bob that you have?
U r hilarious! I laugh every time I watch u, thank you!
the board was a super cute idea, it's nice if you could do that more often hehe
I love your hair! Love your nails, are those gel?
I would love more one product videos because I have a short coloured fine wavy bob.
I’m waiting for Amanda’s hair refresh!!! I’m so excited!!
So ready for my curly bob!
LOL! Mell, I’m a Middle School Science teacher and TOTALLY understand the “drawing challenges”. 😅😂 Been there.😬
The black cherry cola hair color takes me back to High School in the late 90’s. Herbal Essences Natural Instinct demi-color black cherry was a favorite of mine!🤩🤗🥹
I love this! I really want to be a brunette this year! Currently a blonde and having a tuff time getting out of it!
Also I'm in need of a hair oil for everyday or other day use, any recommendations?
It’s fun to look at trends but also to know what works for you regardless of what’s in. I just colored my hair pink with big chunky hairlights and bangs 😅 so totally on trend here but I love pink hair and it’s not a trend, I just know it’s what makes me come alive 😊
I love these videos!!!! Keep it coming!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
OMG AMANDA WHAT 😮 😮😲
Yes, one styler series please!
I would love to have my hair cut by you! Love following you on insta and youtube. What kind of layers do I ask for if I want more volume all over but especially back of the crown? Butterfly cut with mid lenght layers? I feel like long layers take away from volume and curl definition!
Whatever your on Mel, can I have some........girl your in fire....❤
I spell it coloUr as well. Funny u say ab that massive side part thats what ive been playing around w. Im just siiick of my other part and until these “bangs” grow out i cant look good w a middle part. Just went from black hair to brown and just feels right (putting on nails rn and man difficult to type)
Do you have any videos about stretching out curls ????
Hi Mel! I would love to start doing blowouts. I cant afford a dyson and already have a rev air. The rev air gets my hair stretched and oretty striaght but its a little poofy. Is there a tool you recommend for getting the blowout look on striaght hair thats not the dyson? Thabk you!!!
i got a curly mullet in 2023. love it
Hey Mell! I have fine curly hair and am looking to grow it long. I’d ideally like to add about another 5 inches in length. It’s just past my shoulders at the moment. After years of sometimes dangerously low iron levels and so little hair growth, I have finally fixed my iron issue and am starting to see some growth. I recently saw someone with similar hair to mine get extensions and it looked fantastic. So now I’m torn between being patient and growing my hair longer naturally now that it has more of a chance to grow, or trying hair extensions. The things that have me hesitant are the cost, how regularly you need to get them done, and if they’re damaging to hair. Any advice that you (or anyone else) can give would be very welcome. Thanks! ❤
I think Mel did a video a little bit ago about curly extensions! I believe she talked about them in one of the hair trials for Amanda’s wedding. I think she might have an older video that goes more in-depth about the different types too! If I remember correctly, the more “permanent” ones that are like attached to little sections of hair with the metal beads are the most natural looking, but you also have to take breaks every so often or else it can really damage your hair and cause breakage or even tension alopecia. The less permanent like clip in ones are cute and fun for a special occasion but don’t damage the hair
@@jasminelambert3753 thank you so much for the help! I’ll be sure to check out the videos you mentioned. The salon I’ve been referred to offers both tape and weft 👩🦱💕
I would say try different hairstyles and have fun with your current length, length is not that important when it comes to how flattering your hair is on you. When you finally have longer hair you would at times want to have shorter hair again 😅 I’m sure your hair is rocking even now 🥰
Hey Mel, you said you wanted to get into Q&As again so here's a question : I had just done a reset day and I have split dyed layered hair. My hair has super chunky curls at the bottom but wavy hair at the top, and I don't know what this means for me? And also my hair is super dry? thank you!
Love the 60's hair, and 80's hair. I'm a 80's baby. I don't look good with short hair, so will keep it long but will do balayage again and bangs. I usually have bangs, so not scared to do it again. Lol.
So waiting for the Dyson dupes!!!
I love your videos. I’m level 6 in hair color with few lowlights turning 60 cool tone this year wanting go lighter but want to be more of natural any suggestions would be appreciated?
Your my favorite 💚💚💚!
You’re the best 🥹❤️
honey booo, this was a fun video….as I stand here doing my hair on a wash day. Looking at my hair wondering…….WHAT WOULD MELL do to MY HAIR???? 😊
Yes i def put some damage on mine but only used coolour corrector (acted like bleach i swear and even bleached my shirt) usually dont experience that w colour oops!
Feels like early 2000s. I do want curl style tips for fat women who have larger faces. @Mel, could you get in a couple of hair models who have larger and heavier faces? I'd volunteer if I lived near by.
How thick should highlights be for curly hair?
do you have a video on these overnight blowout techniques? (I'm specifically looking at the one from 14:08 and 14:11)
I love these trends, thankfully my hair is already on trend!
Mel, please review Goldwell Bond Pro 60sec mask
My curly hair is healthy but seems so dry in this cold weather. What’s a good moisture shampoo & conditioner that won’t weigh hair down? Looking forward to Amanda’s makeover ❤
Try K18 it transformed my hair to a greater level .
