If there is something guarding the tree, it could be the white rabbit, since he is the only character shown to be able to travel between worlds (Alice’s world and wonderland).

I was thinking along the same lines actually but if that is Neo's answer and Roman is actually dead, then she might actually be sent to the afterlife. In fact she might choose that herself if she feels no attachment to the living world. I plan to make this idea into another theory video soon

Not necessarily that the rainbow mist itself is the Bifrost but more that it is a reference to the Bifrost, Indicating that the Tree takes inspiration from Norse mythology and is the location where someone could get transported to another world
I think the Ever After is a sandbox for the gods. No humans to turn against them, can create and destroy as they please and the challenges RWBYJN have to face is against those creations.
I feel like the being in the armor that's similar to Jaunes armor would be the guard of the tree alongside the woman in shadows too they might work together
I think your theory here is pretty spot on with the role that Ever After will have for the characters. With what you said about Ruby and her interaction/relationship with Little, I think the situation of how she got help while being stuck in that loophole is a way for her to learn to reach out to others for help and not take all the burden and responsibility by herself even though she is the overall leader. And, if there will be mythical creatures here that can also speak, then there needs to be a freaking dragon! I want to see a Smaug inspired character and that would be cool to see at the tree to oversee and grant permission for the characters to move forward. Or imagine if there's a parody to Monty Python and the Holy Grail when they get to the tree with the hermit that asks them random questions like their favorite color or the speed of a swallow bird.

I suspect things in the Ever After might be existing in the same state Penny was in when she had her physical robot body destroyed. Their souls still exist in the Ever After, but their physical bodies were destroyed and they were changed as a result. The change wouldn't be immediately noticeable like with Penny because none of characters have been experiencing any immediate conflicts with their identity that compare to Penny's. But that could change after exploring the Ever After makes them start questioning themselves, especially after they notice that this is a possibility.
Well this volume is going to focus on the fear and also it's mental journey and questions about certain people. I'm more instrested in Neo, Juane, and Ruby not mention about Summer Rose because I want to know how she got Salem's respect it takes one hell impression to do that.
In a previous video you mentioned that getting to the world tree might be a series of quests of they will have to go through. My main theory for this world is that it has something to do with the Relic of Choice. Maybe one of the worlds it leads to is where the Relic is. Oz did say that he put some extra protection on it, or made it harder to get to... I forget the exact wording. Maybe the way to access the Relic is through these quests (or choices) and the Relic is at the end of it. You have to decide who (or what) you are. Or I could be totally off. Who knows? I believe Phoenix/Night said in another video that chances are Ruby and company won't forgive him right away, and Weiss will be the only one on his side since she's the only one who was there when it happened and knows the situation was that desperate. And personally I think Jaune living with the guilt of killing Penny is punishment enough! But I got a feeling the Ever After will make him confront his demons whether he wants to or not. And if that guy with the Helmet is him then he's probably going to go mad. And Ruby and company will have to make him see that it's not his fault, Penny asked for it.
I was also thinking that the armored figure might be a manifestation of Jaune's guilt (or Jaune himself consumed by that guilt). The two main deviations we see from Jaune's armor to the figure in the trailer is the addition of the helmet (unwillingness to show his face) and that the armor itself is tarnished (emblematic of Jaune's view of himself as the noble knight/paladin is tarnished by what he was forced to do).

Ever after has been a thing in one of the most iconic games of many people’s life time. For me it just screams the end of time from chrono trigger. If you recall when people abused time in chrono trigger and break the known rules of reality they are sent to The end of Time. The ever after might just be such an existing realm.
This is the moment in every game in the shin megami tensei where the characters have to make a choice that will affect their relationship, the World and themselves. What will they choose?

I've always had the theory since the end of V8 that the Ever After would be home to a race of elves who were the original people that the relic spirits were from, and that the Brothers turned them into their genie forms, binding them to the relics. I don't know how much weight the idea has anymore since we've learned that V9 is going in hard on the Wonderland themes, but it was still a neat thing to ponder.
Clearly, based on this theory, the tree is going to be guarded by Heimdal and Team RWBY will have to best him in order to get him to open the TreeFrost :)

So going to expand further on my comment from your last video I really do think at this point the Ever After is like a place where you find your own purpose and it looks to be like 2 of the 5 characters i would like to say that will probably be dealing with existential crisis is I believe Ruby and Jaune correct me if im wrong about Jaune but i dont think he actually wanted to be a hunter and for Ruby yes she wanted to be a hunter but i feel like thats from her idolization from hunters/huntresses and mostly because of her mom shes become very altruistic at this point in the series shes never opened up to anyone about how she feels or had ANY meaningful talk with her teammates or anyone in general I feel well I dont know but it is a very plausible
Why not do a video about the theory of Jaune becoming the Knave of Hearts? Jaune will clearly be going through some personal trauma and that could be exactly what the villain of this season could take advantage of and corrupt him. Maybe one point of Volume 9 will be about Team RWBY rescuing Jaune from his darkness
